  2. Please post more. We are on the Silhouette in a SS in October for the TA. Have never been in a suite since Retreat was introduced, so eager to hear your experience!
  3. MacBook (laptop), airpods, Apple watch, two iphones, camera battery, shaver. In truth, Macbook could charge the Apple devices, but I'm not sure its charging brick will fit into the space allotted in the charger box. I will bring a plain plug adapter just in case.
  4. Hubby needs one, but I was planning to bring ours. We are flying to the port on our next cruise (first since COVID), but airlines check medical equipment free - it doesn't count in baggage allowance. We will take one suitcase for all the "stuff" he needs.
  5. Actually, that is extremely helpful, thank you! The adapter brick is 8cm, so adding the 3-4 from the top, I will have the rest available and it should just fit. Thank you so much!
  6. Thank you for this. Do you recall if the box holding the plugs is wide enough for a MacBook Pro power supply? It's about 3" from the top of the plug.
  7. Yet another reason to use a Celebrity Vacation Planner. Yes, you have to call to place your order (unless you get lucky and get one of those pop ups on the website) but then they will handle courtesy holds for future cruises, etc. - all via email. It's great.
  8. THIS ^^^^. I learned by accident that I always want to book cruises through a CVP (instead of on the website), as they are immensely helpful and can be reached via email or you can schedule a call. No hold times, and you actually get personal service. My first CVP, Steven, was amazing but got promoted away from the department. I now have Eva (Yvette) and she has been whip-quick on everything I have asked of her. CVPs can't handle existing bookings made made direct on the website, but from now on, it's straight to them for me.
  9. Oh, dear. The only accessible Sky Suites are on the Starboard side right across from where you were (2134). I just convinced hubby to upgrade on our upcoming TA. The notes in the cabin list were not too bad - one mentioned a bit of noise late at night - so I was willing to take the risk. Hope it will be OK.
  10. We did that too! Price was so low, we felt it was a great chance to try the new Retreat offerings. Normally book veranda or AQ. Last suite was on the Century (!) in 2008.
  11. Since we're coming close to Transatlantic season, would some of you who are experienced with this kind of cruise share tips on how to get the most out of them? We have just booked our first TA (Sillouette, October 20 out of Southampton.) What do you like best about TAs? What advice do you have for an experienced cruiser couple taking their first TA?
  12. It's very close, so you should be fine with an Uber/Lyft. That way you also have flexibility depending on how long it takes to claim luggage and get through customs.
  13. So you can get the chips, not gamble, and turn them back in for cash? Seems like a pretty easy way to make OBC refundable.
  14. In the old days, you could get cash at the Casino using OBC, but I assume that is no longer the case?
  15. This is brilliant! Hubby (in the wheelchair) can stay at the airport with the luggage and I can take the van to the port! Then when we get back, it will be right there! Problem solved. I knew someone on here would have a solution.
  16. We are taking the October 20 Silhouette transatlantic which departs from Southampton and docks in Miami. Since we live within driving distance of the MIA, we will be leaving our car at the airport and flying out to get to Southampton. At the end of the cruise, we will need to get from the port of Miami to MIA to retrieve our car so we can drive home. I would prefer to have Celebrity arrange transport from the pier to the airport, since we need a wheelchair accessible van, and also we have a lot of OBC. However, they say they cannot arrange transport to the airport unless we provide a flight number and time for our outgoing flight. Should I just give a dummy flight number, forget about using them, or is there a magic phrase I can use to get them to just arrange transport without a flight? PS, We have an adapted handicap van, so parking is free at the airport and port. I know we could park at the port and just get transport to the airport on the front end, but I would really prefer for X to handle it.

  18. Hey, we're taking Silhouette in an accessible Sky Suite as well, the October 20 TA! If you're before us, you can give us feedback, and if not, we can give you feedback! (Or if you're on our cruise, hi neighbor!) We get the Premium Drinks package, which covers the entire ship (except minibar - have that emptied first thing). My reservation is also showing tips as due, but I am not fussed about it as I know they are included. Hope you enjoy it! This will also be our first time in a suite since they added Retreat amenities, so I will follow this thread to see what you learn!
  19. I learned a valuable lesson by accident when booking an earlier cruise - if you are going to book directly with X rather than through a TA, don't book online. Instead, call, so you will be assigned a Celebrity Vacation Planner. You get one person to handle all arrangements and answer questions - including Flights by Celebrity if you use them, so they get to know you and your needs. More importantly, they give you an email address and direct phone number, as well as a link where you can book a time for them to call you! I have handled the majority of requests for this cruise and my last one via email, which is so easy. For example, I recently upgraded my cabin. My CVP had no booking slots available and I was afraid the cabin would get taken, so I dropped her an email. I sent the email at 4:38pm and got her response and the new invoice at 4:46pm. Amazing. I have worked with two CVPs (my first got promoted) and they were both outstanding. This is the only way to go when dealing with X, IMO.   20. Yes, it looks as though they no longer offer the "elevate" package when you book. You can easily add these upgrades before you sail. But if you are eligible for Captain's Club discounts, they are on top of the precruise savings - but you can't do that online. You'll have to talk with someone at X to make that arrangement.
  21. We will be in Bermuda on a Celebrity cruise in October. My husband uses a power wheelchair. We love to walk/roll, and I noticed our ship has a nature trail excursion. I assume we can't do that, as the transport from the Dockyard to the trail would not be able to accommodate his chair even if the trail would. But is there any segment of the trail that can accommodate his chair? We could take an accessible taxi to get there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  22. We pretty much always have to book our excursions directly, or go on our own if the port has accessible public transport or has interesting walkable areas. If you use a folding wheelchair and can walk a little including steps into a bus (which can be steep) you may be able to take a ship's tour. Otherwise, unless it specifically says wheelchair accessible, it's a no go.

  24. Sample menus on the X website have prices for Luminae Signature Cocktails priced at $14 for lunch and the same for dinner. Menu on the app has them priced at $14 for lunch and $17 for dinner. This increase, of course, takes them from being within the Premium Package which is included with the Suite fare to just above. This is primarily of academic interest to me as I rarely have a cocktail at all, and the price difference is negligible if I wanted one. But I'm curious why the same drink costs them 21% more to make in the evening than it does during the day? 🤔
