  1. I just got off Silhouette, and I booked two massages while onboard, no trouble getting a reasonable time. In the last half of the cruise they also offered a discount for booking between 1 and 7pm. My masseuse was excellent, and I think I got off light on the upsells, partly because I already had purchased one of the products she was pushing. BTW, I just assumed the on-ship pricing was well above shoreside market. But I just checked Amazon for the Elemis product I purchased, and the price is the same as what I paid. So that's not bad.
  2. Great review so far, Abby! We enjoyed our lunch with you very much. I can echo that the internet was literally unusable for most of the crossing. Fortunately Silhouette was beautiful and the staff and other passengers were delightful. You'll probably report this, but we learned from our porter in Miami that almost exactly half of the passengers were non-US citizens. This made it such a more interesting experience for us, as we made several UK friends.
  3. I was also aghast at the prices of the Chanel purses. More than double what I paid for mine 25 years ago at Chanel in NYC. TBH I would sell it but I am not sure what is a safe way to sell. Online seems so risky, since an unscrupulous buyer could claim it a fake.
  4. If you have gotten locked out of the ability to use your room card because of significant "washing" of OBC without gambling, and then you want to gamble, using cash is a way to do it. On our recent Silhouette cruise, we had a large amount of OBC we preferred to take as cash. We had literally never entered the casino in 8+ prior X cruises. Five days before the end of the cruise, we each transferred $100 to a slot machine, and played a few plays. We both quit after just a few plays, because we were both up and it seemed a good time to stop. Cashed out. Ended up being locked out for 72 hours. Casino manager told us that in order not to be locked out, you have to play at least 10% of the amount you put on the card. Not lose that much, just play it. When our hold was up, and when we knew how much OBC we weren't going to need for spa, extra tips, etc., we went back and loaded all the remaining balance. By then I had decided that slots was fun, so I played enough to unfreeze my balance and actually come out a little ahead. Hubby played just a bit - his card remained frozen, but it was fine as we had achieved our goal.
  5. We got this as well in our Sky Suite on Silhouette last month. Lip balm as shown in above pic was in the bathroom. I would much rather have that AQ drawstring backpack, as I have a gazillion totes and rarely need them, but I use drawstring backpacks all the time for hiking.
  6. We are recently off Silhouette. Butler told us that the alcohol would be charged, but sodas/waters would not. We did not make him remove the few alcoholic items, but did ask that our choice of soft drinks be kept restocked, and they were.
  7. SHIP NAME Silhouette CABIN # 2134 DECK # (3-14) 12 CATEGORY: 7-12, 1A-1C, 2A-2D, A1-A2, C1-C3, CS, FV, PS, RF, RS, S1-S2, SG, SV Accessible Sky Suite (S1) LOCATION ON SHIP: Port (left), Starboard (right), Bow (front), Stern (back) or Insideand Forward, Midship (between the forward and aft elevators), or Aft (For example: Port-Midship, Bow-Forward or Inside-Aft) Starboard-Aft BED NEAR(Bath, Balcony, Window, N/A) NA (Both) QUIET? (Yes/No/Usually) Yes! Did not hear carts from OV above us as others had complained. BALCONY VIEW (Good, Great, Obstructed?) Great! BALCONY SIZE (Standard, Oversized, Other) Oversized. WIND A PROBLEM?(Yes/No/Sometimes) No SOOT A PROBLEM?(Yes/No/Sometimes) No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS (Explain all Noise (including crew door issues), Wind and Soot Problems here, plus all comments and information regarding things like connecting or accessible cabins) Accessible cabin, so 30% larger than same size regular Sky Suite. Same size as Century Suite, except no bedroom. Bathroom has beautiful tiling and appointments. Shower has no lip, so water will get everywhere, but it does drain. Balcony has one recliner/footrest as well as full-height table and two chairs. It is extra long. Only complaint is there are no drawers, except for a couple in the bedside tables. Plenty of shelf and closet space, but I will bring pop-up storage bins for underwear and such next time. PICTURES (Attach pictures in your review) DATE OF CRUISE AND "REVOLUTION" COMMENTS Cruise was October 20-November 3, 2022. Revolution was 2019? Cabin was in excellent shape and had upscale appointments.
  8. Looking at available speciality restaurant options for our cruise next week, and the Porch is not listed. It can't just be that they are full, as Murano is there with no slots available to book. Is this venue not reserved?
  9. Thanks to all. We are also testing on Tuesday with Azova from our hotel in Southampton.
  10. Does anyone have an example of the info sheet they attached to their power wheelchair or scooter for use by the airline's ground crew? All the advice sites say to attach one, but what specifically needs to be on it? I'd love to see what others have used. This will be our first flight with the power chair in 10 years, and the first international flight.
  11. Updating to say that we have arranged to rent a patient lift for our upcoming cruise through Special Needs at Sea. They only have manual lifts, and I have never used one, but I am hopeful I can figure it out!
  12. I've seen references to the fact that drinks on sailings out of Southampton (and possibly other ports) are priced with tips included, so the cap on prices of beverages included in the packages is higher than the $9 and $15 quoted on the X website. Can someone confirm this, and also tell me what the limits are for Classic and Premium packages? Thanks! There is much confusion in my cruise's Facebook group.
  13. Give it a bit of time. We have booked a number of cruises where our first choice was not available, but it always became available usually well before the cruise date. Just make sure you are on the waitlist for the time you want.
  14. Thank you all for reviving this thread! With our first TA coming up in 20 days, we are getting very excited.
  15. Wait. there'a a Facebook group?! I need to join it! Also, while I did get the notification of the change in itinerary (my post was quoted above), I did not see today's email about the requirement for proctored COVID tests - it went into my junk folder. Luckily, DH did see it and we have made plans. Perhaps your group were victims of unlucky spam folder placement.
  16. So you're saying this is not minibar product at minibar cost, but included as part of your beverage package?
  17. Yep, Silly gets Lisbon instead, which is great with us.
  18. Just heard that our overnight stay in Bermuda has been canceled, and instead we will stop in Lisbon. This is great for us, as we have been to Bermuda and never to Lisbon!
  19. Thank you so much!!! I think I will go ahead and book it, understanding he will miss the laundry and some other spaces if his presence would deny others the chance to fit in comfortably.
  20. Hilarious! DH asked the other day whether I needed to get any clothes for our upcoming TA. I said I was probably set, but would probably pop into Chicos for a couple new dressy tops. We "women of a certain age" are certainly predictable!
  21. Can someone who has taken the tour explain what obstacles my DH in a power chair would face on this tour? It's currently showing available on our upcoming Silly TA, but it has that advisory against people who have mobility issues. We are fine if he can go in most places but not all. I'd appreciate any feedback from those who have taken it. (I am talking about the paid excursion, not the free CC event.)
  22. If you still have your statement from the last cruise, it should have captured all of the beverages you consumed on your drink package, no? After our last cruise I added up all the coffees and sodas I had consumed and determined I was just slightly better off with the package. But of course the peace of mind is good, too. I plan to always get the coffee and soda package if I don't have anything included.
  23. I use a Mac, and normally use Google Chrome as my browser. However, the Celebrity website has been very unreliable with Chrome lately. So when trying to manage a reservation, I always open Safari and access the Celebrity site that way. Generally woks fine. Not sure what you are using, but thought I'd mention it.
