  1. I would suggest a Princess package for your first time and their shuttle air conditioned buses.

I have always used Princess transfers, until my last cruise a few weeks ago.

    Ruby Princess - California Sampler.

I went in a day early and because I booked late, no Princess Packages available. I booked the hotel on my own and decided to grab a Super Shuttle as recommended on here. (Best Western Plus San Pedro)

For me, the Princess Package has spoiled me :)

Nice hotel, with bar and grill, nice breakfast and nice air conditioned buses to take you to the port.

The hotel I booked was not great, but it was "okay".

No restaurant in the hotel, only vending machines

Super Shuttle had an hour plus wait as they had some difficulties with two of their vans. So, I went over to Prime Time Shuttle at LAX.

The van was already crowded, so I squeezed in. There was room for one more and we circled the airport looking for more passengers. Took about 45 minutes. He would pull up and wait and turn the car off and it was hot. Van was old and seats were uncomfortable.

We then left the airport and took 4 different people to their homes.

I guess I assumed this was for hotel transportation.

I got on the Prime Shuttle at 5:30 pm and got to my hotel at San Pedro at 8:20 pm. The closest place to eat was a block away. Dark street, so I ate at the vending machines.

I'm glad others have had good experiences with Super Shuttle and Prime Time. But for me, my one and only time, was not good.

  2. When traveling with friends/other family, we have found the easiest is to get everyone together. (good excuse for a little dinner or get-together) Each having their own info ready and call the cruise line or TA. When the first one is done, we had the phone to the next person, and so on.

We have also had one person book and then tell our TA to call the next person at their home (or job) We've coordinated this before to make sure everyone is ready for the call.

  3. Thanks. I'll check out B&BW. DH may still have a few bottles of his stash somewhere. On our cruise to Alaska three years ago, our cabin steward gave us four bottles a day.

They have a couple - I find the EUCALYPTUS SPEARMINT smells the best and is more like the Princess scent.

  4. We also booked our first longer cruise - 30 days Hawaii and Tahiti and I am starting to get nervous about too many sea days. Do they have more activities?

    Thanks

We did this cruise last year.

    My favorite cruise (so far)

We had a fabulous roll call and we had things planned on a lot of the Sea Days.

Princess had PLENTY of activities for Sea Days also.

I had loaded my Kindle with books....never had time to read them.

I read them waiting in the airports.

If you're not already a member of the Roll Call, I would really suggest you join. I'm sure they have things planned.

The extra activities and wonderful people you connect with on longer cruises, is fantastic.

Here's a link to the Shutterfly page I made for our Hawaii/Tahiti cruise last fall. https://crownprincesssouthpacific2014.shutterfly.com/

Take a look around and see what all we planned and did.

Biggest Roll Call I've ever been on.

I also did a review if you want to read it:
