Thanks again for your ever so helpful web site. Your time is much appreciated by all.

Am I having a blonde moment.... are there pics of the Caribbean Princess obstructed? I click on it, but nothing happens. Computer glitch on my side?

  2. Thanks so much for all of your fabulous info!! We're the seas calm or rough? Would love to do this trip, but am a bit nervous about the thought of having rough seas......(although it's never been an issue before...!)

The only rough seas I remember was the first day out of L.A.

Which is pretty much the norm.

    But, it wasn't bad.

I always take a Bonine (non-drowsy) the night before we embark.

It's good for 24 hours and that way it's in my system in case of any rough seas the first day. I usually take it the first night on board also. Then only take it again if the seas get rough. Just a precaution, as once you start feeling sea sick, it's too late - you need to have the medicine in your system.

I do, however, take a bottle of Ginger tablets. I take one each morning at breakfast. No side effects.

Then knowing that it is sometimes rough seas around L.A. I take a Bonine on the last sea day before disembarking the next morning.

  3. Foghorn: Just got back from the QM2 and have copies of the menus. There are no sugsr free desserts but always low suger selections: ie, some listed are:

low sugar berry cake with berry compote, Rubarb and strawberry crumble with vanilla sauce ( delicious), berry mousse, date walnut coffee cake , carrot cake and orange cream cheese, tapioca with coconut milk

Thanks so much! very kind of you :)

  4. I was on your same cruise last year. The one that was supposed to be 28 days and turned into 29 days.

So, in regards to that, I was glad I had things either printed or on my Kindle that didn't require internet access. I was also glad I printed out our roll call list with cabin numbers. It came in handy to call someone or leave something in their mailbox.

I had plenty of meds ready to go, but at the last minute, was rushed and missed packing a box of my insulin pens. So, I had to contact my Dr once we got to Hawaii and have them call them in. Enough meds and some extra is important. Especially since we ended up coming in a day late and then we had to stay over to get a flight out. Some of the Over-the-counter stuff, so you don't have to pay the high prices for them. Plenty of Bonine or ginger tablets, or whatever you use for sea-sickness.

Make sure you take enough toothpaste, deodarant, your makeup...you can always buy them in port if you have to.

A pair of water shoes, and extra flip flops...seems one was drying or full of sand, and I had another pair to use.

I always do a calendar to hang on one of my magnetic clips.

I hang it right by the door, along with friends cabin numbers.

  5. Great review Reba. We are on the October 2015 cruise and your review

helped to lessen my anxieties regarding what to do on all those see days.

I wonder if you know whether or not they have Yoga classes on board.

    Thank you :)

I tossed all the Patters awhile back from that cruise, but I do not remember any. They had Zumba everyday or almost everyday.

    Enjoy your cruise!!

  6. A few years ago on Princess I filled out the form.

Wrote on it I was flying First Class and no baggage fees would be charged.

When I got my Visa bill, Princess had charged me for two bags.

I got in touch with Princess and sent them my first class information/confirmation and within a week the fee was removed.

I suggested they put that on the form in the future.

A year later, I had the same situation, and the form now had a place to mark that no fees would be due.

Simple. It's on the form now :)

  7. If you want to do a cruise wedding...then do so :)

How many times have we all planned a wedding or a reception, or any family gathering, to accommodate certain people....and then they don't show up anyway!

Enjoy the 4 people who can go with you.

If your Dad is on a fixed income, pay for his cruise and be glad you still have him around to witness this and enjoy it.

Nothing wrong with a small wedding party!

Have it filmed and then when you get back, throw together some food and drink and have those interested to come watch the video of your cruise wedding.

Worry about pleasing you and your soon-to-be husband.

    :)

Please come back and let us know what you decided!

  8. Traveling to Hawaii in April on Princess Grand for our 50th wedding ann. any suggestions on port tours ( what to book and not to book)

I agree...the Hawaii boards will provide hours of reading :)

and here is a link to our Hawaii/Tahiti tour last year.

    https://crownprincesssouthpacific2014.shutterfly.com/

There are tabs for each of the Hawaiian Ports. I included some things to do and then you can also see the private and Princess excursions that were booked.

I listed which ones had free shuttles into town for shopping.

That should get you started with some ideas! :) Have a great anniversary celebration in Hawaii!

  9. Thanks for the links.

I'm debating whether to do an excursion on the FLL turnaround day OR just relax onboard.

Princess has an excursion for the CarrieB. It's 59.00.

Sounds like sharing a cab and then buying a ticket direct is cheaper.

It's 39.00 over to Sawgrass (Princess excursion) ....so basically 20.00 each way. Anyone know approximately what a cab would cost from the pier to Sawgrass??

  10. and I just tried to use it (from my email) and nothing.

I called and gave them the code on the letter.

After a LONG time, she came back and told me she checked with her supervisor and the fine print shows that Princess can change or discontinue it at any time..so they did! At least for me.

    I'm ticked

  11. Thanks Sue and brownblonde!

I've never had a bad cruise, but I think this one has been my favorite (so far)

Besides the wonderful ports and beautiful views, the other thing that made this cruise so enjoyable was the people I traveled with.

We had a huge roll call and it was so much fun getting to make new friends and re-connect with old ones....do excursions and Sea Day activities with them.

    Just a perfect combination.

I thought I'd have time to work on a book I am writing, do some reading.....

NOPE :) I was rarely in my room - always something to do, attend, crafts, card games, shows, casino, bingo, afternoon tea... The month just flew by.

Enjoy your upcoming cruise and come back and tell us about it!

    :)

  12. BODICERIPPER:

Thanks so much for all the details. It's been very hard to find much info about these specific cruises :)

This will be my 4th Disney cruise, so yes, I'm familiar with Animator's Palet and the rotating dining....which I LOVE!

It's nice to know they will send out info (eventually) about hotels/transfers, etc.

I'm have a little OCPD (obsessive compulsive planning disorder) :) and I'm trying to be patient waiting for more info and who the special guests will be.

I went ahead and started a Roll Call...so please join us...I'm sure we'll all have more questions as it gets closer - THANKS AGAIN!
