  1. I found Steve very helpful. He walked me through my needs and made great suggestions. We agreed on the best option for us. He wrote everything up, took payment and sent my policy as an email attachment. Apparently companies don't send out books like they used to. Anyway very happy with the service and product I hope I don't have to use. lol
  2. We called Steve. He is great. A wealth of information and makes sure you are not over insuring. His teammates are great if he is not available. They insured our 23 days trip. Well worth the phone call. k
  3. Hi, at least our minds think alike in travel itineraries. lol I am doing OK. Have more test next month just before the trip. Hope that you are doing well also. Have a great trip with smooth seas and safe travels.
  4. Thank you. flight is scheduled to arrive at 1:00 pm on a Wednesday. I know that I am stressing out for no reason. With everyone's help and wealth of info it will work out I am hoping. lol
  5. We got a lobster night on a 5 night cruise earlier this year. I was very pleased.
  6. We sailed her 6x between January and May. Glad we brought a sweater/jacket every time. Since you were on in May you know what I mean. Bring a shawl or sweater.
  7. Good to hear that Hertz is there as we had been told only Enterprise. Thank you for the information.
  8. Thank you. I am working on getting him to use Uber but if all else fails sounds like a taxi will work. IF he chooses taxi I will have him confirm cost before getting in.
  9. Do you think it would be the same rate to go to the hotel as the pier? BTW you are a wealth of information thank you so much.
  10. Do you know if the taxis are set fee or metered? Does an Uber have to be pre ordered or can one just be gotten up arrival? Sorry we have never used Uber or Lyft and DH is concerned about using them. I also want to thank you for being so helpful for all my questions.
  11. Can taxis and Uber do curbside pickup at Long Beach Airport as I know that they cannot at LAX? Also I have looked at taxis in Long Beach and the reviews are pretty bad (i.e. not timely, dirty, takes long way for higher cost). Although I have heard that they are easy to grab at Long Beach Airport. I was hoping for a set fee from airport to hotel?
  12. I hear you but we let them make decision on if they want to take the chance. Thank you for the info though.
  13. Are taking the October 20th sailing to New Orleans? If so we will be on the same ship again as I believe we both sailed the Navigator earlier this year.
  14. Following as we will need transportation from Long Beach Airport to San Pedro. I can share that I have contacted two shuttle services for that trip (shorter than from LAX) and was quoted $85. and $95. respectively for two people. Neither were the ones listed here.
  15. We don't rent but have been told that Enterprise is the only car rental in San Pedro and is about 4 blocks from the pier.
  16. Often answers are different based on ships and also on who you might speak with onboard or calling RC. For us it worked and our steward was VERY thankful for all we left him.
  17. We have sailed 6x so far this year and each time we ask the steward if they get to keep what we leave and they say, yes. That is why we load them up. Maybe things on different ships. We are heading out on a 23 day sailing in a couple of months so will see how it goes on this next ship.
  18. After a couple days of getting water and sodas at the end of the night we find out if our cabin steward likes beer and what kind. Then we get that at the end of the night and leave for them. On one cruise earlier this year we left a complete bar setup for our steward who was really nice to us. He was thrilled. Of course this was along with an extra cash tip.
  19. I would just have them bring the lobster tail tray to my table. lol
  20. I am not a big egg person so my early breakfast was Avocado toast, fresh Watermelon juice, crispy bacon sometimes all with a cappuccino (from Diamond Lounge).
  21. Thank you to everyone for your responses. I feel better knowing that I am just too soon rather than not being able to make the app work. As I am sure you can tell I am just excited about the upcoming adventure and taking something else off my bucket list.
  22. I know that I should know this already but clearly my brain has stored the information where I can't find it. We are trying to get ready for our next cruise, which isn't until October but I am not a last minute person. I wanted to put our cards into the RC app on our phones but cannot seem to find where to do this. Am I just to soon? I know that check in is 45 days out but is that when we do vaccine cards as well? Again sorry but I just can't seem to remember. TIA for your help.
  23. In May we did a 3B on the Navigator out of San Pedro, CA. First off no covid testing was done between cruises as it had been in January. We were required to meet in the Star Lounge at 845. We were told to bring our ID, passports, Vaccination cards to go through customs. They had coffee, juice and lovely pastries available for those who had not gotten up early enough for breakfast. If you were there on time (like us) there was about an hour wait. Then off we went as a group to clear customs which was a breeze. Then waited briefly in a sitting area before being escorted back aboard the ship. Had full access to our cabin but we were in the same one for all 3 legs which made it easy. We were told that all B2B cabins are cleaned first. They were also offering a special lunch in the dining room for B2B passengers. Limited menu and we went once. We found the process all very easy and the staff very accommodating on this ship. We are doing a 3B again but on the Radiance starting in October going from San Pedro to New Orleans. We are hoping the process remains as easy with this ship. If you have questions/concerns about the process just go to guest services and speak with them. I am sure they will attempt to address them before the turn around date. Enjoy your trip.
  24. Thanks. DH says he wants to just go to the Crown Plaza after arrival at the airport. I have called the Red Line Shuttle, recommended here, but no response so I will keep looking for transportation. Everyone has been very helpful and I am thankful.
  25. Well in reading these responses to DH he told me that "oh the cost was for a taxi not Uber". I am so sorry folks. I have others suggest Red Line Shuttle that they have used as it has a set fee. Someone said Long Beach Shuttle with a set fee. Both can be pre-booked. DH says he likes that idea even if it costs a little more feeling that would leave us with no surprises. Anyone here have experience with either of these companies?
