  1. Been awhile since we did a straight 14 night but leaving on one in October through the canal. Our other cruises this year were shorter and only had "dress your best" no "formal" nights. I want us to be prepared as needed. TIA for any information that you can provide.
  2. Thank you for all the info. We are not physically able to walk to the pier so it is shuttle or Uber. DH doesn't want to use Uber but we may have to. We never have so concerns. He downed the app to get a feel for cost from Long Beach airport to hotel. It came back at around $150.00. Yikes. Are there taxis near the hotel that could be used to pier? Food options sound good. DH favorite is Mexican food but that being said he would like the tri-tip sandwich as well. We are both certified, Master BBQ judges for KCBS and travel around judging BBQ cooking at events. We are flying in which again is different for us as we usually drive but given we are not coming back to San Pedro this was our only choice. Again thank you for everything. Feel free to keep the info coming.
  3. Add us to the list of folks that love sailing down and up the Mississippi River. Have sailed out of New orleans many times in the past. We were thrilled when RC came back to sailing from there. We will be on Starboard side balconies for our 3B starting in October. Soooo excited.
  4. Just look for us. We will be onboard waving for you to park and join us.
  5. I don't know if can use the vouchers for cabin deliveries. We got the OJ at the MDR and WJ. I just don't want you to be surprised or disappointed. Maybe someone else here could answer.
  6. You have a deal. I had even found contact info for RC PVP posted from somewhere but don't know how old it was. I sent a contact with no response. My PVPs with other cruise lines call or sends emails just to check in with me and see if I have questions about anything and to let me know that they are there to make my experience easier and more pleasurable.
  7. I have his number on my "to do" list. However this cost at his site was pretty high but I still want to speak with him.
  8. Yes we used them in both places on our cruises earlier this year. Got fresh squeezed OJ, specialty coffees, Bloody Mary's, sodas, wine and anything else we wanted. Enjoy
  9. Just hoping the testing ends before October 20th but have two tests handy just in case.
  10. I have been looking at insurance and wow very expensive. I don't know what to do. We are doing a 3B leaving from Los Angles going through the Canal to New Orleans (first leg). Then the next two legs are going from New Orleans to Mexico. Should these be booked as three separate trips? They were all booked as individual cruises. Cost is much less this way. Or is it more a one long trip for insurance purposes?
  11. Booked. Called the hotel direct. Asked for the "best rate" that we could get based on qualifying for several. Then asked if they had a "Veterans Rate" one was not shown on their website. They had a "Military Rate" though. Anyway we were given a "Veterans Rate" that was less than any rates shown on their site. Very nice and helpful lady at front desk. Also shared that shuttle to the ship is $5.50 pp. It holds 24 guests at one time. They have four shuttle times 9, 10, 11 and 12. She also shared that they have many restaurants nearby (walking distance) if we choose to go out for a meal. I have heard that Double-tree is nice but cost more, about $25.00 more than what we booked a the Crown Plaza. However I have also that there is not a charge for their shuttle. I hope that some of this information will be helpful for someone.
  12. If you get an answer please let me know. We have gotten the same run around from RC. I have also been told that RC does not have PVPers yet I have seen many folks on CC talk about what great ones they have but are not allowed to name and contact information I am told. C & A said that i what they they are for but they do not provide the same service with the same person. We are booked on a 3B starting in October. Like you we have PVPs that we use with all the other cruise lines we book with. Wish RC would get with my program. lol
  13. Well dang. We will just have to get by with our 2 days each of free internet as D+. I was hoping for some better perks, not complaining just hoping. Getting to take this trip will be special no matter what we get or don't. lol
  14. Would this be the same of booked into the OS on the Radiance of the Seas?
  15. No jet way?? Dang, then we will have to find and drag four suitcase to the curb. Hope it isn't real far. lol DH is asking if there are taxis available and if you have any idea how much they cost? TIA
  16. Sounds good. We enjoyed the MDR on the navigator all 6x this year. I will bring a shawl/sweater this time just to be sure.
  17. Well you have heard it now. There were no changes to the reservation at any point. Again sharing our experience and acknowledging other have have different experiences. May all your bookings and sailing go without ever having a glitch.
  18. We are booked on this ship for a 3B starting in October. Wondering if anyone who has been on the ship recently can share some insight about it. We did 6 sailing on the Navigator earlier this year and found the ship to be really cool in the evenings but loved that ship and staff. So wanting feedback on temperatures onboard, best food places, thing to try not to miss, etc as we have not sailed this ship before. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide. We are very excited for this trip. This will be late birthday gifts to each other and an early celebration of 40 years together.
  19. I am absolutely talking about next cruise and NOT omitting anything. As I said not everyone's experience is the same and was sharing ours.
  20. We booked through Next Cruise Desk when onboard in January for a 3B in May. Came with lower deposits and OBC for each cruise. RC refused to honor the OBC and yes I moved our issue up the chain onboard and calling RC with nothing happening. They said that the Next Cruise Desk folks are not RC employees but a third party company allowed to work aboard RC ships. I had all the paperwork showing the OBC we were supposed to receive and everyone from RC acknowledged that they agreed that we were clearly told that we would get the OBC but since RC did not tell us that and basically we were sold the cruises by a third party company that is allowed to operate on their ships they would not honor the clearly stated OBC. When I went to the Next Cruise Desk onboard the young man said, "that's too bad sorry" and that there was nothing he could do as "Next Cruise Desk" is not owned by RC. I know others have had a much better experience booking through them, I am just sharing ours. Sort of like buying a box of chocolates. lol
  21. Was it hard to use? Did they pick you up curbside? May I ask cost? We will have 2 people, 4 suitcases, 2 carry ons and a purchase. Is it extra for luggage?
