Not clear to me if it's included in the easy plus package or not? One reply here says No and the other says Yes. I wonder which is correct?

Restaurant recommendation for dinner in Puerto Villarta

You might enjoy Barrio Bistro in the Fluvial area - not too far from the port and a taxi would get you there for about 150 pesos (less than $12.00). Good food and usually good live music as well. It is an outdoors patio. -
Even a slow boat will get you back for Christmas. (We are spending the winter in Mexico and our flight to Puerto Vallarta is December 19th so we need to be back before then.)

I will definitely look into that. Thanks. (We also splurged and booked a business class seat with Air Canada to return from Chile so I hope we don't have to change that.) Hope your fine print has you covered as you think. So much fine print to read through.

Thank you for this information. We are flying to Fort Lauderdale the day the ship departs (Nov. 15th for the same cruise as you) so a flight 48 hours later would mean we would miss the ship. Keeping my fingers crossed that there is no strike and the flights are not affected.

Nice to know that someone was found to help on the trip. Hope it all goes well and that you enjoy the cruise.

I hope I am not "off topic" here to mention Azamara cruise line. We did take one cruise with them a month ago and we were disappointed. We had heard they were a step up from HAL but did not find that at all because of the food. We were very disappointed with the food in their buffet - it was always overcooked and dry because the heat to keep it warm meant it also kept cooking. The choices in the dining room were limited and the quality was just not there. I found bones in both fish dishes I had and there was hardly any taste to anything. I will add that the service on Azamara was wonderful. You had waiters constantly filling up your wine glass and offering to get something for you. The ship was not too big and there were only about 600 passengers on a ship that would hold 750. The itinerary was excellent and the price was not bad but we much prefer the food venues and the choices etc. with HAL over Azamara.

Post Cruise Transfers from San Antonio Chile to Santiago Airport
mexico8 replied to drtravel47's topic in South America
We booked a tour from the San Antonio pier to Santiago with The German Pirate. Their contact info is: miguelarno@gmail.com They will pick us up at the ship and we do a tour of Valparaiso and Casablanca Valley tour and they bring us to the airport of our hotel in Santiago. The hour tour on December 2, 2023 is $130 US each. -
The Travelscoot will not work in sand or loose gravel. Very good on pavement and packed stones but not loose stones.

Canada/New England Excursions that are Handicap Accessible?
mexico8 replied to shorti503's topic in Disabled Cruise Travel
I have been to Peggy's Cove numerous times with my mobility scooter and had no problems. They have wooden (new) boardwalks all around the area there. They also have a nice gift shop/restaurant that serve good food (seafood chowder and fish and chips etc.). I found it very accessible. Where the ship docks in Halifax there is also a very long boardwalk with shops and restaurants very close by and easy with a wheelchair. To go to Peggy's Cove maybe you will need to get an accessible van for the wheelchair but I am sure it can be arranged. -
The One Thing That You Really Like About HAL
mexico8 replied to isosika's topic in Holland America Line
We are new 4 star mariners on the last cruise and had the free laundry service. It was so nice to send out the laundry and get it back the next day all folded and ironed. (We took a cruise on another line and had laundry rooms that were free to use but very tiny and crowded and always had to wait for a washer and dryer and go back and forth numerous times.) I will certainly be happy to be with HAL again and send out the laundry for them to do. My husband really enjoys the bread pudding on HAL ships. I really like the NY deli food. We both enjoy the live bands in the evening and the dancing. -
We took a ship transfer from the Bordeaux airport and we went to the airport and found the rep near the baggage claim area (outside the secure area. We had flown in a few days earlier.)

Thank you that is exactly what we are planning to do. I booked a hotel in Santiago and booked a tour from the ship the day we disembark so we are all set. Wendy

We are disembarking on December 2nd and will stay in a hotel for 3 nights to tour around the area. Wondering if we should stay in Valparaiso or Santiago for the 3 nights? Any thoughts on that? Thanks. Wendy
