  1. Todd R. I hope you post back once you make your decision. Keeping my fingers crossed for your wife to feel well enough to take the cruise. Wishing you the best.
  2. My husband is also a big fan of the bread pudding.
  3. Thank you. I also printed off that same info that you posted but when I phoned Latam they insisted that i had to go through Cargo and ask if they would take my scooter. They said it was definitely not allowed on the passenger flight. I got fed up and worried so we booked our business class flight with Air Canada. We fly with them all the time and have no problems with the battery and scooter. They should really inform their staff and not lose business like mine. Hope they read these posts!!
  4. This looks very similar to many of the accessible bathroom cabins on HAL ships and also other cruise lines. Lots of space.
  5. I have been told by Latam airlines special needs people that I cannot bring my scooter and battery on their planes when we fly. Lithium Ion batteries over 100 Wh are not allowed on their planes. First time I have encountered this issue and sure hope it's the last! We have flown in the past with no problems with multiple airlines so this is a first for us.
  6. On the Journey the mirror was above the desk and there were plugs to use for the hair dryer.
  7. I had to pay a lot extra in Montreal to get my scooter to the airport in a taxi. They charged me $45 for a 7 minute ride because I needed an SUV and not a regular size car. On the way home I only had to pay $20 from the airport back to the same spot and it was a SUV the same size as the previous SUV.
  8. I have a Travelscoot with a lithium ion battery that I have flown with numerous times. I always remove the battery and bring it on the plane with me in the bag I bought with the scooter. It is 274 Wh and the article states that 100 Wh is the max allowed. I also read this number of the airline web site earlier today and now I am very concerned. Am I missing something here?
  9. I am following the advice here and booking Business class for my husband and I to fly back from Chile in December. I could not face 12 hours sitting in Economy. We will bite the bullet and go Business. We did fly Business one other time from Rome when we had to leave a cruise ship and fly home early because of a heart issue that I had and we did not find it that great for comfort so we are hoping we enjoy the December one more with another airline.
  10. In cabin 4034 on the Journey the couch was okay. There were a few big cushions that I could put behind for support or remove them if I wanted. The chair was heavy to move on the carpet. It is in front of the mirror and cabinet with drawers and good lighting.
  11. As my doctor said to me yesterday "You don't want to be the richest person buried at the cemetery." How true. Another saying is "Whoever says money doesn't buy happiness, doesn't know where to shop".
  12. Cabin 4034 on the Journey It is an accessible cabin very close to Guest Relations not far from elevators very quiet has large shower with curtain has comfy bed and pillows has a small couch and a chair as well would book this cabin again. Wendy
  13. Me too. Right now the difference between Premium Economy and Business Class from Chile to Ottawa is about $2,500. I would gladly pay $900 more.
  14. Thank you. Hoping we can get something in Business for less than $4,000! Will keep watching those seats.
  15. Has anyone had any experience with booking Economy or Premium Economy and bidding for a Business class seat before the departure? Also, anyone pay at the departure desk to upgrade from Economy or Premium Economy to Business Class? We are going to book a flight from Chile in November with Air Canada (only 2 flights needed to fly to Ottawa) and the cost difference between the flights is quite a bit. Wondering if we should try to upgrade closer to the flight time or at the airport on day of flight? Any comments appreciated on the best way to get a Business class seat for less than the going rate of $4,000 each (Canadian $).
  16. I am not a small person either and fly Rouge every year to Puerto Vallarta and back with no issues at all. I used to need a seat belt extender because of my size but I was fine on Rouge.
  17. We fly often with Rouge and it is not that bad. For 3 hours it will be fine.
  18. We just got off the Journey from the 11 day France intensive cruise. Loved the staff and the service. Not the food so much. Great cabin and entertainment and the ports were very good as well. Can't beat the great service with Azamara and how friendly all the staff are. Will cruise with them again. We were disappointed with the azamazing evening that was held on the ship. Not as great as what we read about from other cruises. The white party was wonderful and we had great weather and ports.
  19. Airline bathrooms are notoriously very tiny and difficult for an ostomy wearer. I suggest your DH have a small zip lock bag and use that if needed and can be put in the trash in the plane bathroom. Best to try to avoid having to use the airline bathroom if possible. Once on the ship you can ask for a special bag to dispose of the ostomy pouch (they are red hazard type bags - a little large but useful). The air sickness bags on the plane are also handy to have on hand for the plane and on the ship to dispose of the used pouch. Always bring more supplies than you think will be needed. Hope you both enjoy the cruise.
  20. Sure looks good. I will be there soon! Thanks for posting. I particularly like the gelato bar.
  21. We will be joining you in Bordeaux on June 17th for the 11 day cruise on the Journey. That seafood buffet sounds nice. Hope we get to enjoy it as well when we board. Enjoy yourself and take good care of the Journey for us,
  22. Thank you so much for the information. I think that it would be best for my husband and I to rent a car from St. Malo and drive to Mont St. Michel. I can get to see it close up and go in a few shops and skip going up all the steps etc. My scooter does fold down.
  23. Not sure if I will get to see much of Mont Saint Michel on my scooter. I think I will be able to see some of the shops but not much else. Wonder if it's worth the hour or two by bus or taxi from the ship to go there? If anyone has done it I would appreciate knowing how they found it.
  24. Thank you. (That's what usually happens with other cruise lines as well).
  25. Thanks - hoping I can use my OBC.
