  1. Where did you get this from? I googled Chef's Table and only came up with a movie and Carnival Cruise lines. Please give me a reference to Chef's Table and dinner being served in the kitchen?

  2. Quantum class on rcl have 6 balcony solo cabins. [/url]

They actually have 12. six on deck 6 and six on deck 7.

The 4 xx48 with the largest balconies go pretty quick and usually best pricing is when the schedule is released. March 6 is when Caribbean cruises will be out for Royal, great time to get the best selection at the lowest pricing

  3. Wikipedia is definitely a reliable internet source.

Also, that is a false quote. The contract states no such thing in any way shape if form about not being responsible for providing a seaworthy vessel.

This is the entire back story of that quote

    http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=5657

Cruise Critic has reached out to Frank Spagnoletti, the lawyer representing the plaintiffs in the class-action suit, for comment.

The reporter in the CNN piece told Anderson Cooper that all facts aside, Carnival Cruise Lines' ticket contract states that there is "no guarantee for safe passage, a seaworthy vessel, adequate and wholesome food and sanitary and safe living conditions." This language does not, in fact, appear in the line's ticket contract and Gulliksen said the passage that was quoted "was taken entirely out of context from a legal document that Carnival drafted in response to the lawsuit. It in no way illustrates the way we operate our vessels."

  4. Personally never experienced BedBugs, but they have been found on cruise ships, this is Carnival's Detection and treatment plan

    https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3275/~/detection-and-treatment-plan-for-bedbugs

Bedbugs are small parasitic insects that are typically brought aboard cruise ships in guests’ luggage.

Carnival Cruise Lines has extensive procedures and protocols for the detection and treatment of bedbugs. All stateroom stewards are trained to recognize the possible presence of bedbugs and are required to conduct weekly inspections of every cabin. Inspections cover not only stateroom beds but also curtains, carpeting and other areas.

If signs of infestation are present, the room is chemically treated along with all other cabins within that section.

Frequent re-inspection continues for the next several months.

When ships are taken out of service for their routine maintenance period, all staterooms receive an extensive pest control treatment at that time, as well.

  5. Unfortunately they no longer offer them. I got one about 2 years ago and have to comment that over the 7 days I met 6 couples who told me they took advantage of it and booked 2 rooms so they could have an extra bathroom. Not sure if that happened a lot but I felt like it would hurt long run. And that was the last one I saw with no supplement.

They only offered them because they were having issues filling cabins, in the last few years, that's just not been the case with Carnival.

Zero or even low supplement deals are the cruiselines last ditch effort to unload inventory.

Early saver mixed with the low deposit sales have been very successful for Carnival in the last couple of years.

  6. MrsDeee...Welcome to CC. Unfortunately the spin bikes are only for spin classes. When the spinners aren't in use they are tethered together so that can't be used by others. Dumb in my opinion. I have a spinner at home so when on a Cruise ship I use the uprights at the gym. They also have recumbent bikes in the gym. I do my own thing in the gym so I can't answer what the costs is for classes. When you board the ship head to the gym. There will be someone there that will be able to answer questions about classes and cost.

Pretty sure if they had the bikes open for general use, it would greatly reduce the number of people who would sign up for the actual spin classes.

  7. I was driving everyone including myself nuts so I finally booked . deck 9 angled rear facing superior balcony. its near the aft elevators but hopefully not too many crazy drunks will be noisy :)

I figured with 270 and the buffet and other restaurants mostly mid/aft, the only reason for me to be forward was solarium and indoor pool. plus I hate that RCI site doesn't list all the rooms available. I went to 3 other sites including a warehouse club and saw many more rooms available. but I didn't want to bother with calling up RCI and asking if they were available. I assume you can do this though

In the future if you want to see more available cabins do a search of the royal caribbean uk site. Not sure if it lists all available cabins within a category, but it comes pretty close. Then you could just call Royal and book the cabin you want

This is an example of how many cabins they show available for a random Anthem cruise Obstructed Balcony

  8. Yes and it will be the same price and limitations as ordering before the cruise.

Also duty free liquor is no longer delivered to the cabin on the last night on board. It now needs to be picked up from whatever lounge or restaurant they pick the morning of debarkation starting at 6 am. Which stinks for those flying as you would need to keep one of the bags you wish to check w/ the airline with you to pack the liquor in for the flight. This has been a steady roll out across most lines that have kids sailing, as a response to the Royal incident.

Sent from my STV100-2 using Forums mobile app

That was changed, it now depends on the length of your cruise

    https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2633/~/liquor-and-beverage-policy

    The Fun Shops (onboard)

All alcohol purchased in The Fun Shops onboard will be stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained items will be available for collection in a designated lounge on the morning of debarkation for cruise durations 5 days and less; for cruise durations 6 days and more, alcohol will be delivered to guest staterooms after 7:00pm, the evening prior to debarkation (some exceptions may apply).

  9. If you cancel before you're ON the ship, it will be refunded to the card you used to book it. If you cancel once you're on the ship, you will get a "credit" on your account for that amount.

    It's not quite that straightforward

    Refunds and Cancellation Fees

    https://www.ncl.com/terms/shorex-dining-entertainment-spa

Most tours may be cancelled one day or more prior to sailing, any exceptions to this are noted in the tour descriptions on NCL.com. Tour cancellations which occur one day or more prior to sailing shall automatically receive a full refund on the credit card used to purchase such shore excursion tour, unless the tour has a more restrictive cancellation policy or unless a balance remains due to be paid on the guest’s reservation. In order to receive a full refund a guest must cancel their reservation on a shore excursion tour, one or more days prior to sailing. If a guest cancels a shore excursion tour reservation within the cut-off window (one day or more prior to sailing) a full refund shall be posted to the credit card used regardless of whether or not the individual who made the purchase is sailing. Please allow 7-10 business days for the credit to post to the credit card account. Shore excursion tours can be cancelled prior to the start of the sailing by contacting a Shore Excursion Agent at 1.866.625.1167.

In the instance that a tour cancellation is made by a guest outside of the cut-off date for such cancellations, the guest must request to cancel such shore excursion tour with the Shore Excursion Manager onboard. Once onboard, any refunds will be made to the onboard folio account of the Shore Excursion order contact person, not the original credit card used to secure the online order.*This applies even in the event that shore excursions were purchased as a gift by someone who is not sailing. In the instance that at the end of the sailing, any onboard credit remains unused at the end of your sailing, such credit shall be refunded via check in the name of the Shore Excursion order contact person. Payment of the refund check will be mailed following sailing to the individual listed as the Shore Excursion order contact person.

All tours cancelled by guests less than 48 hours prior to arrival in the port where the tour is scheduled to operate are non-refundable. Please note that certain tours, such as overland tours, customized tours and tours with theater performances or special events may be subject to different cancellation fees. Check with the Shore Excursion Desk for details. If a flight departure is cancelled due to weather by the flight company in conjunction with the Shore Excursion Manager, a full credit will be provided. You can cancel a tour by returning the tour ticket to the Shore Excursion Desk and advising the staff of the cancellation. Refunds will be credited to the guest's onboard account.

It should be noted that in the instance that an online booking for a shore excursion is made and a balance remains on guest’s reservation, payment made for the online booking shall be applied to the remaining balance on guest’s reservation. In the instance a guest requests to cancel a shore excursion reservation and a balance remains due on the guest’s reservation, the online booking refund will not be made to guest until full payment of the reservation is received.

  10. Fitbits won't sync unless you are connected to the Fitbit server. This is a design flaw that many have complained about. You can see a lot of comments about this at https://community.fitbit.com/ and search on "Sync Clock and Alarm using Bluetooth only".

I have a Fitbit Blaze which is a smartwatch. If I don't have an internet connection either via wifi or Verizon data services then I can't sync the fitbit. What is worse, I can't change the time! Who ever heard of a watch where you can't change the time. Makes it pretty useless when traveling to Europe or going on cruises with a lot of time zone changes.

I'm not aware of any fitness tracker that can sync without internet access.

Great thing about Europe, free wifi is just about every where.
