  2. shoot, I just spent 65.00 there tonight and did not see this coupon anywhere, wonder if it is only in FL? Up here in SC, they frequently do a gas card for $40.00 if you spend $50.00. :(

Looks like it's all Publix stores, but you need the coupon from the weekly ad.This link is from a location in Columbia,SC

  3. As a solo on Royal, I don't sit in the dining room for dinner unless I go with others. I do just fine at the Windjammer. In fact, on my cruise earlier this month (Vision of the Seas), most people I spoke with agreed the food was better in the Windjammer than in the dining room.

I'm pretty much the same, but I will go to the dining room shortly after boarding to see which table I have been assigned to and find out who is seated there, Royal is pretty open about letting you know if those at your table are a family,couples..etc.

Usually I end up in WJ unless I meet several people early on and try to have us all share a table. WJ in the evening has a nice ambiance and they offer a great area(on most ships) that's ideal for solo travelers.

On my Transatlantic's with Royal, it was the hangout spot to meet up with other solo cruisers. We even planned a dinner at the specialty restaurant one night.

    ************************************

I'm pretty social and meet up with many people organically....so don't really mind that most of the lines lack programs for solo cruisers.

It's usually a tough balancing act for some of the lines, because some assume when they see solo meet up, the implication is hookup, so many might not show up if they aren't looking for that type of vibe.

  4. Does anyone have any idea whether the Chef's table will be under his domaine also and what a menu might be like? Plead....do tell....

Yes, it will @ :45 seconds of the video below from Princess, Chef Stone talks about a lobster salad that will be on the Chef's table menu, it looks delicious.

  5. Yes, all Carnival ships have a laundry room

These are the locations for Legend

    Riviera Deck 1 - midship / across from 1219

    Main Deck 4 - aft / across from 4230

    Upper Deck 5 - aft / across from 5270

    Empress Deck 6 - forward / across from 6102

    Verandah Deck 7 - midship / across from 7267

  6. Both sets show us as Gold. There is a "P" on the luggage tags for both legs, not sure what that means.

Are your cruises linked? I know if you book them online, the cruises aren't automatically linked and might cause an issue with getting pre cruise credit for the second cruise.

  7. Thanks for the review! We are going in March but out of a different port/itinerary. Very excited!

    Any word on that thruster?

Not sure if this picture of the letter pax received will be large enough to read.

Last week Liberty stayed in St Thomas until 10pm so they could do maintenance.

From Facebook someone said it was thruster related, but I really can't verify that.

  8. Thank you so much for your input. I was unaware of this Pan American cruise port. Do you know by chance which Ship lines use this pier? I'm a little panicked now because I just read a travel article that stated the Cruise piers in Old San Juan are mostly for ships stopping in for the day and that the Pan American pier is moistly used for ships embarking from San Juan as the origin of the cruise.

It appears you are sailing on Carnival's Fascination, so you will be at the Old San Juan terminal.

  9. Thank you for posting this! I received an email notification of your post, looked it up, and pulled the trigger on a booking. Fantastic price for a solo, and a nice change of itinerary versus the standard 7 night Mex. Riviera. I let the website choose my cabin, and ended up with a Lido deck inside. :D

    Tony

I also let them pick my cabin and ended up on the Lido deck.

To the person that suggested prepaying the tips to avoid the increase, that window was closed 10/31/15.
