  1. The issues are the same/similar. I would be concerned about an Uber/Lyft driver's willingness to go to SFB- if they are thinking about the "next" rider, they may not want to go to SFB. Finding a driver could introduce a delay in leaving Canaveral- a noon flight is as early as you can make it safely unless you are carrying off your bags.
  2. HAL also has outsourced personnel responsible for checking in passengers at various ports, I believe. A friend used to be directly employed by HAL in Fort Lauderdale, but, alas, is no more.
  3. The OP may very well be within 75 days of their cruise. My guess is they've had tickets issued, which would mean a need to change (or cancel) the ticket, rather than "just" a reservation. Which means additional costs, if an option, at all. As I posted earlier, best option to get all travelers together at this point is(was) to purchase new tickets on Frontier, side-stepping a change in planes in Miami as part of the purchase.
  4. According to the NCL website, custom air arrangements need to be made through NCL 110 days prior to sailing. See https://www.ncl.com/air-service-standards
  5. If you got lucky on timing, including airport baggage check and security, were first off the ship, and didn't stop for anything, you might make it. How many ships are in port? More than 3? Your chances just diminished.
  6. Please note that Lago Mar is NOT Mar-a-Lago. Lago Mar in Fort Lauderdale has been under the ownership of the Banks family (locals) for forever. A family member also owns the resort in Costa Rica that's been featured on The Bachelor a couple of seasons. I pretty much grew up @ Lago Mar.
  7. I'd attempt to cancel the flight with them and book separately. One way, nonstop flights are available in March between Jan Juan and Philadelphia for about $100 pp base on Frontier, using code DEALS. Even if NCL wouldn't refund airfare, it may still be worth it to you to avoid having to change planes (you shouldn't have to clear customs/immigration and your bags should automatically be transferred in Miami, but the American Airlines terminal in Miami is pretty big and a pain to deal with.
  8. Wheelchair assistance is commonly provided at most airports and is a usual, if not ideal, method of assisting those who need help traversing distances or navigating an airport. Airport and airline staff do not provide personal or medical services unless there is an emergency. Airline staff can help with things like seatbelts, stowing bags, and providing the airline's normal food and beverage service. Philadelphia airport is pretty good, from an accessibility perspective. I have flown in and out of there many times. I am unsure about Puerto Rico I haven't flown tonor from there once.
  9. No. It is about 200-700 feet from the ship to the gates for the secure port area, depending upon whee your ship is docked.
  10. If your mobility difficulties are addressed by using a wheelchair or a scooter and you CANNOT climb the stairs of a bus, you really need to let NCL know so they can have an accessible vehicle for you. Did you book an accessible cabin(s)? The cruise staff cannot provide wheelchair pushers on a regular basis during your cruise. They can help with initial boarding, on the gangway to get off and on the ship in various ports, and disembarking.
  11. You might ask NCL, but I think they require all special flight arrangements be made 110 days in advance of travel. I'd look at potentially buying a separate. return ticket and not using what you got through NCL. I think airlines like Frontier have very inexpensive nonstop flights between Philadelphia and Puerto Rico.
  12. Are you all part of the same reservation/staying in the same cabin on the cruise ship? If so, NCL normally books all people on the same reservation together. At the basic level, which I think you picked, NCL picks the flight times, the routes, and the airlines. They have other options that give you more choices, at higher cost. If you do NOT have the same cruise reservation number, you should call NCL's air department at 1-866-625-1163.
  13. A friend also got married on HMC, and just got off a five year anniversary cruise. We surprised them at the wedding- we didn't know they were getting married, let alone were aboard the same ship as us. I looked over and realized I knew the wedding party- the Mother off the Bride was one of our neighbors growing up- she was among my first babysitters, and I had looked after the bride when she was a toddler.
  14. One risk to manage is priority disembarking. If you are in Club Orange, you shouldn't have an issue if the ship docks on time and you get off quickly. How are you getting to the helipad? Do you need to find a ride, or is the tour operator picking you up? If you aren't first ashore and need to get a ride, there could be some delay.
  15. If you are flying into MCO, I would change hotels (and stay in the MCO Hyatt or another hotel that had a direct shuttle to DCL. If flying into Sanford, I'd rent a car for drop off at the cruise port. And please make sure what port you are sailing from- Port Canaveral or Port Everglades.
  16. Be sure you allow sufficient time to clear customs.
  17. Taxis are plentiful at PortMiami. You will need your ship to be docked promptly and it will be most helpful if you self-disembark. In most circumstances, one needs to arrive at the airport no less than 3 hours before the flight is scheduled to depart. MIA is a large airport and it can take some time once on airport property to get to your airline's terminal. Safe travels!
  18. There should be a few cabs and rideshare drivers around, unless it is exceeding late and yours is the very last plane. I'd then ask a police officer for assistance- they usually have a cabbie connection. The Fort Lauderdale area is a diverse community- not everyone celebrates Christmas.
  19. HAL's guarantee is for an excursion found AFTER booking with HAL. Your (cancelled) booking was BEFORE booking with HAL. If there is no availability for the 1pm excursion other than through HAL, then there is no comparable offering available (at least from that vendor).
  20. PBI is about an hour's ride in light traffic from Port Everglades. You should be OK for a 1:45 domestic flight if you get into a ride by 10:15. If a rideshare driver won't accept your request, a taxi will. You probably don't need to carry yourself off. You might want the driver to stop at a fast food place before you get to the airport. PBI is not large and may have limited food offerings.
  21. It's not the same time. That's probably enough to be different. And there's obviously a potential reason for price differentials based on time. More demand for the 1pm?! The guarantee also states the order in which excursions must be purchased- through HAL and then through another provider (which, among other things, enables HAL to buy out a particular trip, making it unavailable for separate purchase).
  22. It is going to be a messy day all around. Many of the folks disembarking may find additional chaos at the airports. There are delays at both MIA and FLL. Hopefully, the flight delays will enable at least some passengers to make what otherwise would be a missed flight.
  23. Several of the rental companies maintain rental offices for the port and do offer shuttles between those offices and the ships. These offices are distinct from the airport snd are NOT in the same location. The rental car companies don't want to offer free transfers from the ships to the airport.
  24. Getting an Uber or Lyft driver for port Everglades to the Fort Lauderdale airport is almost never an issue. You may have a little more of an issue in getting a driver interested in going to PBI. FLL is 10 minutes from Port Everglades. A driver can make multiple circuits, potentially taking new passengers from the airport to the cruise port for the "next" cruise. PBI is about an hour's drive from Port Everglades. There are comparatively few passengers wanting rides from PBI to Port Everglades, and PBI is nowhere near as busy as FLL, so it may be more challenging for the driver to get their next ride.
