Loved your pictures of your Walvis Bay stop. all those sand dunes brought back some great memories of our stop there on the Prinsendam in 2008

We were in stationed in Germany when the wall came down, lots of mixed feelings. Been to Berlin twice since as a tourist.

Thanks for posting the picture. Brings back great memories we did three cruises on her, all trans Atlantic, two east bound one west bound.

It doesn't look good in that part of the world, it's any ones guess if or when they will sort things out over there. We are lucky to have been able to see the sights in Israel when thigs were peace full.

Just catching up, glad to hear you had your dining room problem sorted out, they can't fix it if they don't know it's broken.

Hopefully if all the people who are complaining about it here on CC also let HAL know how very unhappy they are about the closure of the Crows Nest, you think HAL will listen??

Are there really that many people that buy paintings on board??

Not a good start to your cruise with bad wait staff & food not up to standard. Guess it can only get better.

I too would be up set. We do enjoy the Crows Nest. I guess the only thing is to complain as loud and as often as possible, use the appt and the post cruise survey. There is nothing the Capt. can do about it as the decision is out of his hands. I do think if HQ gets enough complaints, things will change.

Although the Marriott is adjacent to the train station, the Hilton is no too far to walk. DW has walking difficulties and it was a cold wet night, but she managed no problem.
We did not pre purchase train tickets, but used our debit cards to tap in and tap out.
The train departs from the station underneath the airport. We used a luggage trolley and descended to the track level by elevator. The train to Rotterdam departs from track 5 or 6. Keep an eye on the tv monitors above the platform for updated information. Also ensure it is an Inter City Direct train that you board - only 25 minutes to Rotterdam.
There are a couple of steps up to the carriage, but they are manageable. When you arrive in Rotterdam Central, exit the platform (elevator/escalator) and turn right. You should be heading towards Platform 1 which is the nearest to the exit that you need. At the station exit (remember to tap out if using debit/credit card) and cross the square and tram tracks in front of you. You should see the Marriott. When you reach the pavement turn left and it is a straight and level walk to the Hilton. You cross two streets, but there are crossings.
The fare was charged to our debit card today of 14.50 euro each.
Thanks for posting this will help us in Aug.

Bon Voyage, fair winds & smooth seas. Pretty sad when you have to bring your own crackers.
