BLAH BLAH SOS DD
How can you be charged for bottled water when you pay for Ultimate Premium beverage package???
This was our 1st and LAST cruise on NCL. NCL need to take lesson from Royal how to run a cruise line as far as passenger service. You NEVER hear servers talking in their native language in Royal EVERYTHING is in english. This cruise totally sucked The wear and condition of carpet in public areas was terrible. Lastly even the piano player was 2nd rate missing notes and words.
BEWARE
Maybe you should have read the terms for the Ultimate Beverage Package, they are easily found on the NCL Home Page, and actually I copied it for you
The Ultimate Beverage Package does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water
Next week we are boarding the Star for our 3rd cruise with the UBP, other 2 were on the Breakaway, and we have never had a problem getting a drink at any bar.
What I really find interesting is the fact that in years past people were complaining about how they felt hounded on the pool decks with servers for drinks, now that they aren't being hounded that's a problem too.
Have all my cruises been perfect no, in fact our worst was the Sky and we have never sailed her again, nor do I plan to but others love it. It's all a matter of opinion and NCL isn't for every cruiser but we love it. I've always addressed in writing upon my return any issues we have had and NCL has always responded and done right by me.
I leave on the Star next Sunday and cant wait to get onboard, 7 days of no cooking or cleaning!

We took out 13yr old to Rock of Ages and it was fine, yes there is the F word used and some other words but we've raised him to know right from wrong and he knows what he can say and cants.
The late night comedy shows are marked 18+ only and kids are not permitted in those shows, even Howl at the Moon will keep it clean until 10 then they add adult content into their show.

Any info on the Star for November?

We have stayed in non haven suites on the smaller ships but Haven on the larger ones ie Breakaway and loved it, the one time we stayed outside the Haven in a spa suite on the Breakaway we really missed the Haven. I didn't find the difference in price worth it and would do the Haven any chance I get

The bridge tour doesn't depend as much on the Concierge as it does the Captain. Our son was offered to tour the bridge at the request of the Captain a few times.
-
It as 27.99 on the Breakaway last month as well

I read on an older thread that the photo center on the breakaway offers custom bobbleheads and you bring in a picture and they have different themes like sports, brides, etc? Do they still do this? If so are there any perimeters on the size of picture needed?
Yes they are still offering them at least they were two weeks ago, not sure about the size of the photo though.

I was actually able to add just the soda package to my son booked in the room with my husband and I. I just called NCL directly and they did it for one guest in the room with no problem or questions asked. When I tried to add it online, it added it to all 3 of us.
Not sure if it they will do the same for the UBP, but it's worth a call to NCL to find out!
Soda package can be bought per person, always bought it for my husband and son. Rules for the UBP are different

We were on our way back to NY on the Breakaway on that day, left Bermuda at 5pm on Friday to get into NY Sunday May 3rd. Captain said there was a storm and steered us around it though we did have some rough seas Saturday, not a hurricane though.
We had 24-36 ft leaving NY Feb on the Breakaway and I can say the seas last week were a lot less then that I think they may have hit 10-12 ft.

Sailed the Breakaway last week and had the same package you will have. We never paid anything extra for dining, drinks or gratuities. In fact the only charge at the end of the week on our bill was for our two future cruise certificates. Its actually nice getting an invoice at the end of the week that is only one page, instead of 5 or more :D

Here is a post today on another site I belong to, this was made by a passenger currently on the Jewel and was posted after the M&G today
Then I talked to the Cruise Consultant - EVERY platinum guest gets a bag of free laundry
I myself was on the Breakaway last week on the latitudes rewards coupon for laundry both are names were listed. It clearly states under notes on the coupon-One laundry bag during the cruise Per Platinum member
We sent out two bags one with his name and one with mine and didn't pay for either.

We didn't make reservations and used the standby line last week, no issues getting in. You can make reservations but on the ship once you board
-
We just got off the Breakaway yesterday and had the same promo as you. Our final bill had nothing on it for dining or beverages. The only charge was for my two FCC's.
-
There are two locations for bus passes one inside the ship terminal which is the one I recommend using or another outside by the ferry stop. The one by the ferry gets crowded. You can buy a multi day bus pass not sure of the exact rate for just bus but you can look online

10 would be late, we came back early on night around 9:30 and they were just closing up. I'm sure if anyone was there they would have stayed open.

BA has a stuff full Laundry Bag Special was still priced at $27.99 last month on Day 4 only, drop it off before noon for Steward & it will be back, washed clean & folded by 6PM on Day 6. We got ours done free as part of Platinum perks but still nice to know we folded & rolled 23+ items into the paper bag, and it all came back as a big & neat pile (pictured in the review also) almost $100 worth if charged by the pieces. Amazing & we simply repacked most of them as clean items going home.
I agree when you look at the per piece price the bag deal is definitely worth it. In fact we do the same thing, DH and I are both platinum so on our 12 day we both got a bag. It was nice to pack away all the clean stuff and have less laundry to do when you get home.
I was in the military and can pack a lot of stuff into a small space. They definitely lose money on me

If your category is sold out how do you know if went down $400 per person?
But to answer the question in general after final payment is made the cruise line is not obligated to do anything for price drops but will usually offer and upgrade or obc for part of the difference.

I called ncl concierge # today and I was told John D'Souza is the concierge on the may 10th cruise breakaway.
They don't always provide the correct information at no fault of their own but with last minute changes they don't always get the proper information. We sailed with John in Feb and he said he was staying until May but not sure when in May. We are sailing with him again April 26th I will find out what day he is leaving for sure and report when we get back May 3rd.
-
It should be listed on your amenity invoice, if your TA didn't send you one ask them to email you a copy. I always carry a copy of it onboard with me
-
Monte, I sail April 26th will let you know if anything has changed by then.
We did have the same problem with LeBistro on our last trip being booked the last two days but the Concierge worked it out for us. I would suggest either booking it for early in the week, or booking early for later in the week
Problem we run into is the certificates(minus the wine)are useless to us with the UDP.
-
I have heard yes and no, I did negotiate for one of our past Pearl cruises. Like was mentioned previous have a price set you are willing to pay. The worst they can say is no.
-
We sailed in Feb and there were 3 kids total, my son at 13 was the oldest and he spent his whole day in Entourage.
We are sailing again April 26th without him and I don't think there will be a lot of kids at that time either. You should be ok next week like you said the schools are back in session but you may have some little ones that aren't school age yet.

Doing our 2nd trip this year in the Haven in 3 weeks, cant wait.
Since it is prime vacation time for schools for the spring holiday the ship would be crowded with families and kids.
Anyone else get sick on last week’s Breakaway sailing?

I was reading on another site where a women said one of her children got sick on day two and then the other one got it 24 hours later so it sounds like a stomach bug was going around.
