We sail on Sunshine to Canada on October 8. I know it's all about the safety but we have been looking forward to this for so long. I hope we still get to go!
All the models and meteorologist have Matthew turning east and looping back south prior to getting up to Virginia. A cruise leaving New York heading north to Canada will not be affected. Have a great cruise.

I just take a small mini stapler with me and put 3 staples in each luggage tag as I attach them to my luggage. The only overkill I do is attach 1 to each handle. In 18 cruises I have never had one come off.

We just park in the parking garage that is directly across the street from Half Moone terminal. The cost is $13/day and it's a 2 minute walk to the pier.

My one and only experience at these side by side tables was not good. A mom and her princess daughter were at a 2 top adjacent to our 4 top. Said princess decided to rapidly brush all her crumbs towards the direction of our table. A lot of them went right on to my plate. She and her mom were oblivious. A quick elbow from the wifey kept me from opening my big mouth.

Roatan, Tabyana Beach, excellent snorkeling right off the beach. No need for a boat.

Is there a light and a crosswalk to get over to the shopping center? Is it safe and easy to cross? Thanks, might give this one a try next time. How was the cost in comparison with other hotels?
Yes there is a light and a cross walk. We felt very safe crossing the road and walking the shopping center.

We recently stayed at the Springhill Suites and it meets all of your needs. Plus there is a shopping center across the highway where you can pick up any last minute items.

From passengers to crew I have seen pretty much every nationality. Carnival is very multi cultural.
-
For me it is pretty universal that I do not like any new style web design that any site I visit changes to. Carnival is no exception.

For a few cruises? Why would they even bother when other ports like Port Canaveral haven't done it yet and they have cruise ships every week? Norfolk doesn't even have FTTF for goodness sake. I would be very surprised if they did it at all for the 2 times a year they're there.
We have the 8 day booked in October out of Norfolk and online there was the option to select your staggered check-in time. Seems silly to me too but it sure looks like they are implementing it.

Great review so far and look forward to reading more.:)

They are my favorite all time band that we have seen on a ship. Saw them years ago on the Paradise. Bought their CD from them on the ship. I still throw it in and listen. Good stuff!

I print them in black and white and attach them with staples at the hotel the morning of embarkation. In 18 cruises have never had one come off yet.

We went a few years ago and the snorkeling was excellent at Brewers Bay. The water was slick with barely a ripple. The link is a video that I took.

We have not booked this specific cabin but we booked 2470 next door to it 4 times. Like 2PC said there is definitely some vibration. When sailing it is slightly more than what you may feel in other parts of the ship. But when you pull into port there is definitely some wall shattering vibrations. We are up anyway for port day so it did not bother us at all. As far as noise there is none. Foot traffic is minimal cause the only people back there are people that have cabins there. We heard no noise from the stairwell either. You will enjoy the extra window. Have a great cruise!

We once purchased an arrangement on board the ship for Mothers Day. It was confiscated by Customs when we debarked the ship.

I don't do anything fancy. Just the morning of the cruise I fold them, 2 per bag, and staple them 3 times to the handles on the bags. Never had one come off yet.

The mall is right across from the hotel and an Olive Garden is not too far of a walk. We took the hotel shuttle for free to TGIF which was maybe a couple minute ride. Walked to the Target next door to that and picked up a few things. Shuttle came quickly when we called to take us back. It's a nice pre-cruise hotel that I think you will enjoy.

With a 2 PM flight, what was the rush to get off carrying all of your luggage?
There wasn't. Was simply answering the OP's question. They gave us that time slot and we followed it.
-
We just debarked the Emerald yesterday morning. Our flight was at 2PM and they issued us "Walk off 4". We were off the ship and through customs by 745am.

I have an iPhone and just turn off cellular data and roaming. Connect with wifi only.

It's a very easy walk through the parking lots. Takes about 5 minutes. Great location!

We are on this cruise, Princess newbies as well, and was offered an upsell 2 days ago. We were originally in an obstructed o/v and was offered a balcony for $49/pp. We gladly accepted and are now in a balcony cabin midship on the Aloha deck. Our friends sailing with us was offered the same upsell and they accepted as well. Looking forward to our first ever Princess cruise after 17 with Carnival and 1 with RC.

Cab is better and so easy. Walk outside the terminal. There will be a line to get in that moves very fast. Someone running things will hand you a slip of paper with how many bags and your cab fare total. It's all a set price. I think ours was $21 for 4 people.
How many days until your next Carnival Cruise?
