I booked a Nov 17, 2021, on the Discovery but was told it wasn’t eligible for $1 deposit. Were you able to take advantage?
Yes, $1 deposit was used. We booked a BF on lido.

We booked an 8 day on the Discovery for Dec of 2021.

Fantasy class has connecting insides. Spirit class has an inside that connects to a balcony cabin. They are all the way forward. Vista, Horizon, Panorama, and Mardi Gras also have connecting insides. The Radiance shows that it will also have connecting insides. Conquest class and Dream class do not have connecting insides.

There is an adult only pool in the aft of this ship correct? How was that? Was it busy back there?
Dan
Just off the Sunrise yesterday and the aft pool is not adult only.

Just off the Sunrise this morning. All sail and sign cards in our group of 7 were pre-punched with the hole for the lanyard.

Embarkation for our last two cruises out of Tampa went flawlessly. They really have it together. Show up at 11:30 and if things go well you should be on the ship by 12:30 at the latest.

As an FYI the Super Bowl is in Miami on Feb 2nd. Hotels and flights, if any are left, would be at a premium.

Our favorite cabin that we have booked many times is 2470 on Conquest class ships. Our favorite all time cabin was 4228 on the Miracle this past March for our 30th Anniversary.

You can mosey up to lido with your luggage till they make last call and casually exit the ship. That will usually be around 10am. You can't leave your luggage in your cabin as the stewards need them clear so they can turn the ship for the next guests. To add to your cardio why not roll them with you around the track as you are doing laps.

Last time we went there years ago, we only purchased a day pass to go on beach and use pool area, do they still have that?
No they do not. The only day pass option is now what is listed above.

$5.00 for 30 seconds work seems fair to me.
That's exactly what I have been doing for years. Throw them a quick $5 and on our way.

I have to agree. We have sailed the Miracle and the Legend twice each. Love love love the Spirit class ships for the all the same reasons you mentioned in the original post.

I recommend a day pass at Grand Lucayan Lighthouse Point. You can get one for $25 from shore excursioneer. The resort, pool, and beach area is beautiful.

Was there a band in Red Frog or just an acoustic player and were they any good?

Blue Long Island

If you saw a $20 bill laying on the ground would you pick it up? Of course you would. There's your answer.

I would want to avoid large group cruises regardless of the group affiliation. They will affect the enjoyment of your cruise unintended or not. Their presence will be felt throughout the ship.

You have to ask for it but they will give you a punch card when you buy your first specialty coffee. Purchase 6 and the 7th one is free.

My favorite is the Blue Long Island.

Exactly why I avoid Waterside Drive and sort of sneak in the back way.

You can be dropped of by family/friend right at the ship. Traffic can be very hectic that morning. We have family drop us off but we take sort of a back route and pull into the parking garage directly across the street. We do have to pay like$1-$2 for that very short time our ride is parked there but the in and out is very easy peasy. Basically we come up Granby, then turn on Main, and make a right into the garage. Bypasses all that crazy traffic. To leave your ride simply just reverses the way out and back to Granby. It's a 2 minute walk from there the to ship.

Sheraton Waterside has a park and cruise rate. The hotel is within walking distance to the pier.

We always vacate the cabin by 730, have breakfast, then find a spot on lido to hang out till they make last call. Then we easily walk right off. The last cruise only 6 passengers were still on after we left. Makes for a stress free debarkation.

Main deck 4 is mostly covered and people cannot look down on you from above.
clam shell at 1/2 Moon Cay

We reserved once we got to the beach. There is a small blue shack up the steps where you can rent them as well as floats. Cost was $30 for the clamshell and $20 for the float. As the previous poster said you just then walk down the beach and pick which one you want. Someone with a yellow shirt will set it up for you.
