  1. I found this on another chat board, but think this person is mistaken? am i right?

The conquest is actually at dry dock fromJan 18 and will be back in service on Feb 1st .

I will be on her on the 1st through the 8th of Feb and will get to enjoy her evolutions of fun.

I didnt think she was getting the EOF?:( too bad though.

  2. Congratulations on your upcoming cruise. I'm sure you will enjoy the Conquest as much as we have. :)

There really isn't any such thing as a free upgrade to call in about. If you booked a guarantee category where Carnival assigns your cabin, you could be upgraded to a higher category cabin. If you booked a specific cabin there is nearly no chance you will be moved for free. Carnival may offer you an upgrade for an extra fee. Your current cabin, 2334 is in a good mid-ship location. I'm sure you will like it.

Doctor's Cave beach is located in downtown Montego Bay. It is a nice beach but doesn't offer any food or beverage services, just beach and bathrooms. You will need to take a cab there and back. It is about 15 minutes from the cruise pier which is located south of town. You can eat at Margaritaville which is only a short walk from Dr's Cave.

Another option you should consider is Sinset Beach. It is located only a mile from the pier. It is an all-inclusive resort so your food and drinks are included. Last time we were there it cost $40 for adults and $20 for children. While this may sound steep compared to Dr's Cave, when you add everything up you will spend about the same for either. Sunset Beach has a nice water park for the kids to use as well as the beach.

    Have a great cruise! :)

it has been reported Sunset Beach is now $60 for adults, just in case...hopefully someone can confirm this.

  3. Ok, brand new member here...I know I may need to post this in the main forum but it is a question related to Conquest. thx ahead of time for your patience and help.

I've got to decide between Carnival Conquest 7 day cruise and Carnival Ecstasy 5 day cruise in February 09. I need to make the booking today if possible!

Brief facts: 2 adults, one 2 yr old, one 6 yr old, my wife and I have been on 2 NCL cruises, kids are very outgoing and travel well, we live in Houston.

    Question:

Those with cruise experience...would you opt for the Ecstasy and have a little more $ to blow? Or take the Conquest and operate with a little less spending $?

what is the cost PER DAY for EACH of the cruises? I have found sometimes the 5 day is not much cheaper or can be more expensive PER DAY...that would help me decide.

p.s. I would choose the Conquest though, WE LOVE her!

  4. If I remember correctly it was an hour prior to sailing but of course you will have stragglers coming in at the last moment.

I finally dug through my stuff and found old capers from last thanksgiving 2007:o, and it says 30 minutes, hope this is still right, I like having more time on the island......thanks!

  5. we just got our IS GTY rooms for 12/21 cruise on Conquest.....

    they are 7428/7432 --- 4D....so it is a good upgrade.:p ..

and they are side by side which is even better, it would have cost me $900

    more to book this directly.

    only conern:

IS it is bad in the Aft, have only done front of ship and mid front.....like more movement/vibration from engines at all?

    thanks for any input!!!!:D

  6. Well that answers 1 question out of 3. At least we won't be charged if we dump all their stuff and put our own in there. I was a little worried about that.

My other half and I have this thing about room service for breakfast. I guess we can always rig it by raiding the buffet and bringing it back to the room. Buffet isn't my favorite dining venue, though.

So no one wants to hear me play my trumpet, huh? That's too bad because I'm really, really good. Not America's Got Talent good, maybe, but...well...

my son plays the trumpet and he is pretty good (in the top band at school) , but I wouldnt want him to play on a ship, if you were serious! :p Bad enough you can hear him from inside the house 1/2 way down the street and man can it get "high pitched" too!

  7. First let me say thanks for taking the time to answer each and every question, you are awesome!!

We finally decided to stay at the Pan Pacific, found a family special for our dates, was wondering if you can answer 2 questions:

    1. Can we walk to Stanley Park or is there a "cheap" shuttle?

    2. Where do you suggest eating for dinner, 2 adults 2 kids.

  9. WE loved the Harbor house as well. We didnt have to wait on a shuttle the morning of our cruise, we just walked to the terminal about 5 minutes away.

The rooms were larger than some hotels and the breakfast was not bad either.

We got up early on Sunday (6 am) and watched the ships come in! It was a super way to start the week off!!!:D

  10. We are already booked for next year on the new itenerary.. Cant wait..

We have stayed on 7th floor (cant think of the name of that deck) in a balcony cabin and loved it..

We just booked for 3/15 and 7/12 2009!! We are thrilled with the new

Ports!:D We have a cabin on Empress/7 for one, and Upper/6 for the other, BUT beware what is below you (promenade/5) on the Upper, it is Casino/Lounges and Bars. Many reviewers complained of noises/vibrations from these places. Try to get over the shops or the main show area at the front of the ship.

  11. Jabberman,

We're driving down from Frisco on Saturday also. Where are you staying? We're at Harbor House.

WE loved the Harbour House, we walked to the cruise terminal took all of 5 minutes. The rooms were big and we got a view of the cruise ships! If you get up early (6am) you can watch the ships come in. IT was awesome!

  12. We like to book 1A rooms for us and our teenage kids, we love the cheap price and dont mind the size of the room or the bunks either.

I noticed there are two cabins 6224/6227 on the Upper Deck and wanted to know if ANYBODY knows what the empty space is around them?

We are about to book Spring Break 2009 and dont want to have some strange noises around us.

    thanks for your help!

p.s we stay in 1207/1211 and it was very very loud with crashing waves, so we are hoping to stay on the higher floor this time.

  13. I thought you could book a room at Comfort Suites and have full access to Atlantis. I just booked a room myself.

  14. Comfort Suites is usually the cheapest option.

Day Passes run $105 pp.. and are only available on days that they are not at near capacity.. so you may or may not be able to get a day pass on any given day.

    Best to book a room.

seems like it would work out to be cheaper if you only have 4 people to book a room at Comfort Suites than to pay $100 per person?
