We'll be on her the week of 19 September as well. We sailed her December 2014, so I will be able to comment on the freshening up.
Dennis
Cool!! That's our week too.

Is there a link to find info, looked today didn't see any info on this yet? Will they post it at a certain time at Hal?
-
Thanks to both of you!! great pictures!! Trying Hal for first time, to Alaska, in September, been on 20 cruises but first time on Hal.

Copper 10-8 was on the Noordam before and after dry dock. He posted some photos of the refurbishment. It looks very nice.
Do you have a link to pictures?

Formal nights were not as formal as on other itineraries - only one tux - most men in the Rotterdam dining room had on a jacket/tie but quite a few did not. Women were dressed nicely but nothing over the top. Dress nicely and you will be fine.
Overall this was a very casual cruise - jeans jeans and lots of jeans. It suited the itinerary - I think that people were very tired by dinner time (I know I was) and just did not feel like changing again for dinner - I forget which night it was, but the lower level of the Rotterdam was maybe 1/3 occupied.
so jackets are not required? don't want to use packing room if not necessary.

How formal did people dress on formal night? Thanks!

My 7 night Alaska cruise RT out of Van Couver, with 123GO sale, in an Aqua suite, is $4010. With new package it will cost $4950.
-
To me the 123Go sale was a better deal. Especially for my 2016 Alaska cruise. I dislike the new pricing.

Just got it today for the same 19 Sept cruise on Noordam. I wasn't really concerned about arrival time in Vancouver as we are arriving on the 18th and spending the night on HAL, so I kinda ignored it. :) This will be the first time we have taken advantage of the free hotel night for NS guests...
Dennis
Which hotels do they offer for that?

Received this, wondering what operational reasons could be? Anyone have any ideas?
ITINERARY CHANGE NOTIFICATION:
Please be advised that, due to operational reasons, the departure time for the
ms Noordam sailing from Vancouver, Canada on September 19, 2015 has been moved
forward to 4:30pm. Flights into Vancouver should arrive no later than 1:30pm
and all guests must check in at the pier by 3:30pm. We regret any inconvenience
this change may cause and appreciate your understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at 1-800-577-1728.

I think that's silly!! I like having a snack for later or eating on the balcony.

Same here Jacqui. We booked through our TA but sometimes call the Ship's Services Director for the ship. We have had Table #30 reserved four our B2B cruises in May, which was confirmed in February by HAL. We also have had our TA request a certain table which has always been confirmed.
To clarify on our table #73 we just received , we did call HAL and they sent our request to ship services and we were assigned the table we requested. So I agree, it pays to call and request a table.
-
We are sailing on the Noordam just a bit later and we have already contacted HAL and had our TA contact HAL about dining table assignments. We asked for exactly what you want: a 6-person round table. We even provided table numbers - see attached link.
Hope this helps:
thank you so much for the link!! we just got assigned #73 on our upcoming Alaska cruise! I am wondering what are the little circles next to some of the tables? or in the middle of the floor? thanks!
-
I am "holding" another line for right now, since HAL has not opened bookings, and i am getting a pretty sweet deal, so I too am dying for them to open up!
They might have lost me since they waited soooo late! UNLESS they can beat/match this deal I found on the "other" line.
p.s. Disney prices are OUTRAGEOUS!

we have done June, July and August.
I agree for longer days June was best, BUT for salmon and bears and whales August was fantastic. We enjoyed both Northbound and RT VanCouver routes as well. BUT so far have LOVED Celebrity as far as lines go!

RTs are typically only from the U.S. Ports of Seattle and San Francisco for the Inside Passage cruises. Vancouver is typically the start or end of one way Voyage of the Glaciers cruises between Vancouver and Whittier.
we have done RT on Celebrity and Holland , I guess I will have to research those lines again, as we enjoy the inside RT so much better and it's easier to get flights. THANKS
-
here you go....
thanks, interesting, I see RT from SAN FRAN, but not Van Couver?
-
For where? Alaska and Europe itineraries have already been posted here and they go in sale on the 19
where is the information for Alaska 2016, thanks!
-
Weren't they supposed to go to roatan? They subbed in Costa maya last time they were stuck at the port until Monday.
looking at rest of cruises out of galveston none say Costa Maya, so I wonder if they did sub.....would have rather lost Belize than Roatan however. Still great they get to have three ports still!!! :)
-
If we go at dinner can we split the entree's or do we all have to order something? thanks!
-
thanks for this great post! you helped us decide to drive as we have done the train once already! :D
Your pictures were gorgeous!!!:)
-
wow, those slide shows were fabulous and i think has made me decide to do the ruins in Belize.:D:D
One quick question, how long is the bus ride and is the road really rocky/bumpy?
thanks to your wife for a wonderful job!!! :)
