  1. So here's the reality..... (and I was dealing with HAL reservations not my useless PCC).

I did not have to rebook. But my category would increase by $240 pp if I decide to take the Explore4 (haven't committed yet), I do not lose my existing OBCs, and I get an additional $150 pp OBC, plus a PG and Canaletto dinner each. With the price increase it comes out pretty much equal. We are not big drinkers, and it's an Alaska cruise so just a few bottles of water.

EDITED TO ADD.... the promo is not showing on the website or on my sailing. So I advise anyone to check anyway, if they want it.

oh yeah, I found this, thanks!

  2. Formal nights were not as formal as on other itineraries - only one tux - most men in the Rotterdam dining room had on a jacket/tie but quite a few did not. Women were dressed nicely but nothing over the top. Dress nicely and you will be fine.

Overall this was a very casual cruise - jeans jeans and lots of jeans. It suited the itinerary - I think that people were very tired by dinner time (I know I was) and just did not feel like changing again for dinner - I forget which night it was, but the lower level of the Rotterdam was maybe 1/3 occupied.

so jackets are not required? don't want to use packing room if not necessary.

  3. Received this, wondering what operational reasons could be? Anyone have any ideas?

    ITINERARY CHANGE NOTIFICATION:

Please be advised that, due to operational reasons, the departure time for the

and all guests must check in at the pier by 3:30pm. We regret any inconvenience

  4. Same here Jacqui. We booked through our TA but sometimes call the Ship's Services Director for the ship. We have had Table #30 reserved four our B2B cruises in May, which was confirmed in February by HAL. We also have had our TA request a certain table which has always been confirmed.

To clarify on our table #73 we just received , we did call HAL and they sent our request to ship services and we were assigned the table we requested. So I agree, it pays to call and request a table.

  5. We are sailing on the Noordam just a bit later and we have already contacted HAL and had our TA contact HAL about dining table assignments. We asked for exactly what you want: a 6-person round table. We even provided table numbers - see attached link.

    Hope this helps:

thank you so much for the link!! we just got assigned #73 on our upcoming Alaska cruise! I am wondering what are the little circles next to some of the tables? or in the middle of the floor? thanks!

  6. I am "holding" another line for right now, since HAL has not opened bookings, and i am getting a pretty sweet deal, so I too am dying for them to open up!

They might have lost me since they waited soooo late! UNLESS they can beat/match this deal I found on the "other" line.

    p.s. Disney prices are OUTRAGEOUS!

  7. RTs are typically only from the U.S. Ports of Seattle and San Francisco for the Inside Passage cruises. Vancouver is typically the start or end of one way Voyage of the Glaciers cruises between Vancouver and Whittier.

we have done RT on Celebrity and Holland , I guess I will have to research those lines again, as we enjoy the inside RT so much better and it's easier to get flights. THANKS

  8. Weren't they supposed to go to roatan? They subbed in Costa maya last time they were stuck at the port until Monday.

looking at rest of cruises out of galveston none say Costa Maya, so I wonder if they did sub.....would have rather lost Belize than Roatan however. Still great they get to have three ports still!!! :)
