2. Does anyone know how early you can get to the waterpark when doing this on your own? My mother and I are trying to decide if it would be better to book this excursion through the ship or doing it on our own. I did read that the waterpark doesn't open until 10 am, but we would like to get there earlier and get a nice pool spot. Does anyone that has done this before know if you can use the pools before 10?

Yes you can swim earlier and find a chair...we always get there early.

SCUBAGIRL, do you think I have any chance of getting 3 day passes on August 16th? or should i book ahead with the Majestic Tours? thanks!

  4. We are set to sail May 9th on the Conquest and our roll call is looking for a location to get together, without a charge. Any Ideas? The group thinks Day 2 would be best but we also don't want to miss any fun activities. Any suggestions would be helpful to us.

several of the bars are closed, but open to sit in during the day, and we usually met in one of those, I believe on deck 5 all the way down to the aft.....called Blues piano bar.

  5.
Mongolian Grill was up and running. I thought I would use it more...only ate there twice. Food was okay but nothing to get too excited over. The Chicken Kung Pao was pretty good.

The pannini sandwich window on the opposite side of the same deck had some good grilled sandwiches. The reuben was excellent.
there is an Asain grill INSIDE the buffet area, is this what you mean?

the MONGOLIAN grill is supposed to be outside by the pool opposite side from the burger grill...... you would pick you food and they would grill it for you......it should not be premade food.
  6.
The best: Consistently good service thoughout the ship. Entertainment was excellent....great shows.

The least: Having CNN blaring on the big screen every morning dumping all of the crappy news I originally took a vacation to escape. The big screen is fine....they just have to learn how to utilize it better. I took my coffee and escaped the the back of the boat to have my coffee.
yeah, that does sound a bit annoying with CNN but maybe I can sleep in and I will send my hubby to watch TV on the big screen, and use it in my favor!
    Thanks for your updates!!

Cant wait to go....just went in December and so dying to see if I can spot any other updates.....
  7. This is from DaCruiserFromtheATX on the Conquest Feb1 Roll Call:

The upgrades consisted of new carpet and paint in some areas. Alsothe TV people are melting over and changed the floor to ceiling window rooms on deck 11 to Balconies. No mongolian grill and someone was asking who was the person playing in the piano room. His name was milburn and was ok but i have seen better. Sorry to all at the pub crawl that i couldn't stay with yall but i was very tired. Atleast i showed up though more then i can say about some others who said they were gonna be there. Cruise was ok I have had better and I have had worse. Could never get in Hot Tubs at the main Lido deck due to Kids being in it all the time. Must be nice to get to take days off during school time to go on cruises. My how times have changed since i as a kid. Tv was cool but i must say if i walked out there and saw the Miley Cyrus video one more time i would have hung myself.Food was good Cayman Islands excursion was cancelled due to cool weather and high winds. Jamaica was good. Cozumel was great of course met some friends and drank all day long.

    - I also saw that harleydudesat said there was not a flat screen tv in her cabin, just regular CRT; wonder if some of the anticipated upgrades were cut back due to cost constraints???

did they do any type of open seating at dinner time?

  8.
I also see this on the Carnival web site- and no mention of it being in the future. What does this actually mean? No assigned seats no assigned times? Just no assigned seats? No assigned table staff? Scrambling around to find a table where 4 can be seated together? Eating sometime between opening and closing time in the MDR? Is this a good thing or a hassle?
it would be a hassle for our group of 11!
now more than ever we are DYING to talk to the cruisers from this week!!:o
  9.
The open seating option does not start on The Conquest until 4/26. You still have the choice of assigned seating with set times as well. Just more options which is always better!
it doesnt say a date, it is on there now in the ships highlights....can you link to where it says a date it starts?
  10.
Another poster said she found this on the Carnival website:

A beautiful meal is nothing less than a work of art. Enjoy an elegant, delectable and undeniably delicious dining experience in the Renoir or Monet Dining Rooms, which now feature open seating. Sink your teeth into a meal that will leave the best of impressions.

So is this for real? Does this mean there are no assigned tables on Conquest anymore??
11. 3. And finally (for now anyway)...My wife may have an issue with seasickness ...from what I've read the back of the ship seems like the most stable...is this accurate? Are there noise issues from the engines or above decks? Opinion on aft-view cabins...

I have also heard of ginger pills. They work with seasickness but do not cause any drowsiness. You can buy them at Puritan's Pride online. Also, remember you can always get free drowsiness pills from the purser's desk.

I used to be extremely sea sick, but I take the ginger capsules every day on my cruise and only when we have VERY HIGH seas, do I get sick. You can get them at Walmart for like $5 for 100 Capsules. I take 2 when I first board than one every 3 or 4 hours.....if the sea's get bad I wait till bedtime to take dremamine, it helps me sleep as well.
