  1. When I was at Halifax I used Blue Nose Sidecar Tours. This tour is a sidecar on a motorcycle that the driver is also your tour guide. I was driven all around Halifax. At the time I was there a Man and his wife both were rider/guides. They asked up front what I wanted to see and they then laid out the tour route. I was met at the ship and the tour lasted a couple of hours. That was my first time to ride in a sidecar and I really had a lot of fun. Note: The Wife unit decline to join in riding around in a sidecar. She took a ship tour to Peggy Cove. 😁 Bob
  2. Oh yes, I sure agree with you on the Sea View. Over the years we have tried out everything from inside up to Suite. For the price of a Suite we can go on 3 other cruises and have just as much fun since we also just use the cabin for sleeping. Bob
  3. If this is a first time event for you, I would like to suggest that you rent one locally and practice operating it. You do not want to be spending your cruise time sitting in your room reading the operating manual on how to charge the battery, etc. Bob
  4. Yes. It took me 3 days to reach my Princess Vacation Planner. She told me that she had a weeks worth of backlog phone calls of people trying to reach her. This started right after the letter went out cancelling the Diamond cruises. Bob
  5. Oh my gosh, did you have to take that special therapy class to over come the shock to your system? 😵 Bob
  6. If you approach the passenger service desk politely and ask to leave they will grant you OBC for the ship you want to get off from. 😁
  7. Sure hope you get your OBC problem settled before you go. A few years ago we went onto the ship thinking we could show paper work and get problem settled. Was told We would have to wait until we returned home and contact Princess Hq to get problem resolved because the ship could not solve the problem while on board. Good Luck\Bob
  8. One trip to Cabo we departed on the tenders with smooth water. When we came back the crew on the platform were wearing life jackets and the tender was really bobbing up and down. The platform crew would tell passengers when to jump for the platform with the platform crew gabbing them when they landed. If they did not immediately jump they were told to wait. One poor lady froze and did not want to jump. Two tender crew helped her and two platform crew caught her. It is the ocean so no one can tell when it will make a change like that. Bob
  9. Wow, 10 minutes. That was impressive and sure hope remains the norm. Currently the Wife and I would put the phone on speaker and sit there playing games on the computer for an hour or two waiting for someone at Princess to come on line. Bob
  10. For you Old Timers. Harkin back to the days that Princess sold "Sea Witch" brew. I had heard about it, and it was hot that day and I was thirsty. So, I walked up to the bar and ordered a bottle. The bottle was cold and wet. So I took a large drink.........😵 Well, my momma had raised me not to spit out the contents of my mouth onto the floor especially if someone was watching. And, I had a immediate flash back to 1965 when I was surrounded on all sides by Rice Patties in South East Asia. That aroma match that brew. Enough Said. I was really happy when Princess made the command decision to stop carrying that stuff on their ships. Bob
  11. May 2022 on the Discovery Princess in a standard Balcony cabin no table. In fact our balcony was described as a landing ledge for Spider Man. 😁 Bob
  12. When selecting a restaurant look for one with a large A in the window. They have passed the latest health inspection. Those with B or C in window did not pass at a high level. Bob
  13. Another part of the problem is, Princess has been cancelling cruises which causes those people to jump on looking for a replacement. Then add in some fair reductions that is attracting more customers and their quirky system is getting hammered. My PVP at Princess said she has a week backlog of phone calls from customers wanting help. Bob
  14. Ref Too Soft Mattress: Here is a benefit not mentioned as of yet. If the water starts to get rough, tuck your blankets in real tight. Then wiggle down under the blanket as you sink down into the mattress. This will keep you from being tossed out of bed as fish swim across your balcony. 😁 Bob
  15. Hmm, if Princess is partnering with Cruise Critic, I wonder if CC will have to start charging us more to belong? You know, 10% more of the zero charge right now. 😆 Bob
  16. Yes to using hand sanitizer after sitting down. However, I wait until I pull up my chair and handle the salt/pepper shakers if I want to use them. Then splash on the sanitizer. Bob
  17. When calling in a plumbing problem be sure to stress it is a urgent problem. I called in to report that our shower would not drain. At 11:00 PM the phone rang waking me up. I answered to be told that someone was knocking on our cabin door. Say what, OK thanks for calling. No No I was told, it is the plumber who is there to repair your show drain. I😲 I asked him why so late? He told me that it is his schedule for non urgent problems for this Deck. Bob
  18. My Medallion came with a weak battery. It was slow to open the cabin door and often when I ordered a drink it would not read and the bar tender had to ask my cabin. After I returned home I read on CC that I should have gone to Passenger Service desk and had them install a battery, something that I had not read about before the cruise. Bob
  19. And, we can look forward to all of those empty bags sitting out in the hallway to be picked up. 😲 Bob
  20. Mrs. Hogee Since you are coming to California from Ontario, I would suggest, if you can, plan to fly in two days early. And use EZ Air if you can. That will give you some cushion if your flight gets changed or cancelled. We live in California and we use the 2 day plan our selves. Also, we have been on the Discovery Princess. Be prepared to be Wowed. Bob
  21. When the ship is docked, you will be given the location to meet up with your Tour which could be the theater. You will leave as group. Outside There will be a guide standing there with a sign with your tour number on it and they will then send you to the correct bus to board. If you leave the bus, the guide will carry a sign on a stick so you can keep track of it while walking through crowds. For the tender port you will report to the location on the ship listed on your tour ticket. As you enter the area the staff will give you a number that will indicate when you leave to board the tender. Then at the dock you look for your guide. Bob
  22. No. Due to some unfortunate events in my past I do not eat bread with the Dinner Meal. And, the wife only likes rolls. I just noticed that there were none in the basket. Same with other tables in the same area. Bob
  23. Sad to report. No bread sticks on the Discovery in May, just rolls. Your husband may luck out and they have returned when you go. Bob
