  1. When you check in, be sure to tell the desk clerk that you want them to order you a cab for time and day that you want to go to the cruise port.. If you wait until you are checking out you just might find out that the entire hotel is doing the same. When we were there the port had 8 cruise ships in port that day. Only people with pre reserved cabs were guaranteed a cab. Our hotel was telling people that they would put them on a list and if a free cab driver walked in, they would call the top of the list. Enjoy Barcelona, great city to visit. Bob
  2. My wife had an interesting event happen to her. We sat down at a open table in the Buffet. Then she placed an order for drink on her Ap. Then she got up to get a plate. The poor waiter was following her medallion around trying to find her to give her the drink. Next time she left the medallion laying on the table, problem solved. Bob
  3. When they are rationing the butter or butter look alike, the Wife always make sure I get a pat of butter. Then as soon as waiter is gone she grabs it. Because I do not eat the bread with my meals. Bob
  4. Sorry about writing for the rest of the year. The letter we received from John Padgett, Princess stated through Nov which ended our cruise. If you are concerned about a cruise I suggest you contact Princess and talk to a CVP. Bob
  5. Sorry, she can not help you. She says, her crystal Ball only covers until the end of the week. 😀 Bob
  6. For something this important, I recommend that you call the Hotel and talk to them about the Internet ability in their Hotel. If they are not sure, ask about a internet Cafe that is close by that you can use. Bob
  7. My recommendation for you is to do some research on the Crown. See what the current limits are and if you are willing to accept those limits. Years ago we did a trans Atlantic on a Princess ship that was limited to 17 knots due to propulsion problems. Passengers bailed off the ship when that news came out. So, we had our choice of cabins and was given a good rate. We were aware up front that port calls were adjusted due to reduced speed. We had a great time. Bob
  8. The buffet is large. On the first night, do not be surprised that after walking around and around and back and forth making your selections, you have a problem finding the table that you left part of party sitting as you went first. Also, keep any eye out for the desert section. Bob
  9. Well, my wife just saw another fly swimming in the soup over the cancellation of Diamond cruises for the rest of this year.. Our Cruise was in November with final pay day of 16th of this month which was set up to be an auto pay on that day. We called our Princes vacation planner for another cruise and she told us she was locked out of the November records so she could not tell us if the auto pay was still in effect..😪 So the Wife being the kind person she is has the plan to lock her credit card on the the 14th. Since we are planning for a Jan cruise, we do not want to be hit with paying for a cruise that was cancelled, then trying to get our funds returned. . All part of the Adventure of dealing with Princess.😲 Bob
  10. If they do, make sure you have a bottle opener. Bob
  11. We also were booked for 13 Nov cruise. Was also really looking forward to it. The two offered replacement destinations do not appeal to us since we have been down the Mexican Riviera twice and also the California Coastal twice. Lucky we had not made final payment as of yet. Will miss the perks that we had stacked up. Bob
  12. Thanks for taking the time to respond with a very detailed report. Bob
  13. We are also going out on the Diamond in November. I had the same question about where to get coffee and received the same answer that you did. Sure hope you have time to write a trip report when you return home. Bob
  14. Was on the Discovery Princess in a balcony cabin this May. Nice large flat screen TV hung on the wall with no access to a extra plug in as in the "old Days" when the TV sat on a shelf above the refrigerator. Bob
  15. Another supporter of the enlarged Buffet with added Pastry shop on the Discovery Princess. Plus Gigi's for pizza. And the impressive Deck 5 of the Discovery Princess was also a surprise. Bob
  16. Going along with what you posted. A few years ago as the ship was leaving harbor the Captain announced that there was a pod of whales off the Starboard side. I watched several people milling around yelling at each other, what side is Starboard. So, being the helpful person that I am I told them......Its the side that the whales on are on. 😆 Bob
  17. We have been there before and are going again this year. Our plan is to just walk around, listen to the Mariachis play, drink a beer and eat some nachos at a sidewalk cafe, and take some photos. The last time I was there I watched a Police Officer let a small girl help him direct traffic. Yup, a very laid back town. The only tour I was interested in, hunting for a Unicorn, was booked, so will have to pass on that one. 😁 Bob
  18. This reminds of an old joke. A crew man while walking past the Capt's cabin look in the port hole into the cabin. He saw the Capt kneeling down in front of his safe. He was reading a piece of paper. Port is Left. Starboard is Right. Well it is a slow day. Bob
  19. Thanks for that information. The wife and I do not wear our hearing aids while sleeping, so we do believe we will be OK. That is one of the benefits of reaching the Senior discount age. 😁 Bob
  20. Thanks for responding We decided to go ahead with this cabin. Bob
  21. Good idea. Just talked to the Wife. She said the same thing. The clock is ticking on us since we are not getting any younger. Bob
  22. Thanks If we do decide to go, that will be Plan A. Bob
  23. Thanks for responding. Our problem is, we have cabin E-728, Aft mini-suite reserved. And, we have until the 15 of Aug to make any changes, or cancel out right. Will have to discuss this with my Command Staff, the Wife. Never a dull moment, right? Bob
  24. Question directed at those who have just recently sailed on the Diamond. Is there a out side designated area for the crew to smoke? Such as the Grand has the rear section of deck 7 closed off for crew smoking And, if so were any of the balcony cabins affected by the smoke? I have never smoked and will not walk through the smoke filled casino's on the ship. My wife has asthma so having smoke on our balcony would not be a good thing. Thanks Bob
