eDocs we received today for our 20 Oct TA crossing stated :

**Two bottles of wine per stateroom are allowed on embarkation day, subject to corkage fees.

Does everyone just ignore that and put it down to Celebrity not bothering to update their own T&Cs ?

    not bothering to update!

Pettiness?  Are people not allowed to have an opinion?  Must we now say, flip flops, shorts and ripped tshirts are fine for dinner?  I guess you can call me petty then.  Sorry to ruin your day.

But this post isn't about those items of clothing. Clearly the rules say no to all three.
the Op is simply asking about Hawaiian shirts, which are perfectly acceptable.
We can't start judging people's style of dress if they are respecting the rules. That's ludicrous.

Just because you can it does not mean you should. There is nothing Chic about dressing like you are going to the Friday night fish fry at the local VFW. I look and wonder if this is what they wear to their bowing banquet at home. We only have one or two Chic nights, you are on a beautiful ship eating in a fine dining room (they have AC) why dress sloppy?

Who said anything about dressing sloppy?

In order to move the booking it has to be within 30 days of the date you booked the cruise.

We use a TA but not to plan our itinerary or book excursions or flights for us, we do that ourselves and often with others from the Roll Call for our sailing.  We have made many long term cruise friends that way.

Our TA provides us with group rates and about 10% OBC which is refundable.  They handle any changes we want, resolve issues and keep us from having to wait on hold with the cruise line.

I would ditto those sentiments exactly.  I would add that our TA also was able to save us a nice chunk of money on the cruise fare, and addresses price drops.

It can be difficult to find a good TA, but once you do, the benefits are great.

Perhaps it was Donovan from Jamaica.  He used to be on Summit for several contracts but I haven’t seen him since they restarted.  He was always singing and so welcoming!

Years ago we had a singing waiter from Jamaica in Blu named Donovan.  I wonder if that is the same person.  He often worked with another wonderful waiter in Blu named Billy. His famous quote was "Lovely, Dovely".  Has anyone seen him recently?

Yes absolutely-elite plus, 2 bags per person, so 4 bags total free per cruise. As long as the wash-return time goes back to a 2 day max return. For us, was 4.5 days before we got it back, now on Summit. So we only used 1 of our free bag benefits. We live in Boston and figure it’s just easier to bring it home in the Lyft with us😳. But we’ve never had it come back so late before. Sometimes, we get it back the next day. We have though, ALWAYS had to ask for additional laundry slips. It’s as though they want to discourage you from using your free laundry perk by never giving you more than one laundry slip. They return your laundry clean, but never give us a new slip. No matter which ship or when, we have always had to ask for additional slips.

yes, even after my first bag I've had to ask for a slip for my second.

We usually send laundry out roughly every other day as we are elite plus so a total of 4 free bags per cruise. However, beware-we are currently onboard Summit, (veranda - not in a suite nor Aqua) and it’s been 4 days and we still have not gotten our laundry back. This is unheard of, for us-longest return time ever, and still counting. Our steward gave us the standard low staffing, covid story to excuse the delay. But 4 + days is a very long time when 2 has always been the most ever.

After many cruises, I always thought we had 2 free bags (elite plus), but you're saying it's 2 bags each or 4 total. This will change my strategy, especially on our upcoming 12 day cruise.

Has anyone gone  on  a  Blue Chip Club cruise.  Do they  have  special parties  or   slot  tournments or  free drinks in the casino.

I got a  card  in the mail regarding a complimentary cruise.

They have slot tournaments, and everybody gets free drinks in the casino.

The ETA is valid for twelve months. If your passport has to be renewed before travel, you will need to apply for your ETA with your new passport. If your present passport doesn't need renewing, I would apply a few months before you travel, in case there are any problems with issuing the ETA.

This link will explain the procedures for applying for an ETA. Information and procedure to apply for an ETA

Note - you need to apply using an app which is easily downloaded from your phone's app store.

Thank you for all your advice. Used your link and then applied on my phone.  Took less than 10 minutes and my status was granted within 2 minutes of submitting it!

  10. In the perfect scenario it would be no problem for you to make that flight. However these days I never travel assuming the best case scenario. One snafu and everything can change on a dime. Late docking, immigration at the port for the ship, traffic regularity, airport problems, anything can make a tight connection impossible. It's up to you whether you feel comfortable risking it.

We will be in Sydney in early March of next year. We will have an overnight off the Viking Orion. I am looking for a good small group or private tour that will cover the highlights of Sydney but will not be too exhausting. Most of the private tours I have seen seem quite pricey, so I am looking for suggestions.

I am using Real Sydney Tours for a private tour based on a friends recommendation.
keep in mind most private tours will definitely be pricey.

    Hey there,

So, we didn't have a need to open up the balconies, so we can't tell you 100%, but we did find these two photos which can tell you a little.  On the left side of the balcony (as you face the water), there is a definite bulkhead wall, so it's obvious that those 2 balconies wouldn't be able to connect.

But, on the balcony wall connecting with cabin 10273, it's a different set up.  If you enlarge the photo, think you can make out a small lock, which would be used to open up and connect those two cabins.

Again, won't claim this as 100%, but the photos seem to show it leans that way.

Thank you so much for your response. That is what I thought too, so I will cross my fingers.

We just got off Apex and were in room 10280. My son thinks the balcony connected to the one on the right as you are looking aft. We didn’t have it open but it appeared to have slits and could open

Thank you.  The one to the right is the one I am hoping it connects to, so that would be great.

I don't know about the balconies connecting but, according to the deck plan, the actual rooms do not connect. If they did, there would be a horizontal black line through back-to-back walls.

You can notice that black line on the connecting wall of cabins 11269/11271 and the connecting wall of cabins 11268/11270.

Thank you!! I did see that on the deck plan.  Don't need the rooms to connect, only the balconies.(Don't need to be that close!!)

We had talked about trying out an aft balcony for decades ... but we weren't sure if we'd like the experience.

Whenever we'd walk on a ship's wrap-around Promenade deck (usually on deck 6, 7 or 8), we'd appreciate the beautiful view, but to be honest, found the "roar" of the wake, at that level, to be nice for a walk, but didn't know if we'd find it a bit much for an entire cruise.

When the E-class ships came out, we knew immediately that we weren't interested in the IV "balcony" cabins, so when we booked for our September Edge cruise last September, we decided to pull the trigger and finally try out a SV.

We booked 10280, and thought it was fantastic.  NIce big balcony (seems like the balconies are larger in the middle of the aft and get a tiny bit smaller as they work out to the sides, before the S1's.  With cabin decks above and below us, we heard absolutely nothing from public areas.  The sound of the ocean was not at all overwhelming, but was very soothing.  We felt no vibrating at all, and we had expected to.  We did experience a little bit of soot, but that was easily taken care of, and wasn't an issue at all.  There were 2 loungers out on the balcony when we arrived.

An FYI:  In that cabin, the bed was by the balcony, and while that does give you slightly more maneuverable access to the closets, we didn't think it was that big a deal and would have been fine either way.

For us now, for E-class ships, it's definitely aft all the way!

Do you know if your balcony connected to 10273 which would have been to your right as you faced the water?

If you look on the Edge class cabin compilation, someone states they do connect

Thank you, I did see that but then on another social media outlet someone said that they were in one of the cabins and it did not.  I'm hoping they were confused!
