    Do you really care?

You are arguing about something that is meaningless

On my last Celebrity cruise at dinner we observed:

    Shorts

    Swimwear

Wet coverups- assume over a wet swimsuit

    Muscle shirts

T-shirts with racial, profane and political messages

    Sweatpants

    Bare feet

About all I can say is everyone wore clothing.  Nobody topless - male or female

We refused to be seated with a male with what my DW felt was a rude t-shirt.

    Movin on.

I’m sorry but this is not believable. Swimsuits, wet cover ups, BARE feet, no way.

I don't believe they have refunded anything for missed ports since the restart.   Not on sailings I've been on and have heard others with the same experience.

We missed a port in January and our onboard account was credited. And the cancellation came several weeks  before the cruise.

I'm saying that I got the impression on my last cruise that whether or not you prepaid there was an expectation of cash at the end. May as well give it all at the end, by hand, if this is the expectation. But again, this was on my last cruise which was RCCL. Not sure if this is the norm, or the expectation everywhere, thus the ask

I can assure you that many people do not hand out extra tips and you certainly don’t need to do that unless someone offer to exceptional service and you want to

Is dining in Blu a step up from MDR on the Reflection? I read in a review that the food is a disappointment and has changed in negative ways since covid. The reviewer also stated that other cabin classes now can dine in Blu so it can sometimes difficult to get a a table right away. Is this true - what other classes are now dining in Blu? (Trying to decide between Reflection and Beyond - Reflection Blu much more affordable!) Thanks!

Was on the Reflection in December. Loved Blu, both the food and the small dining room ambiance. Service was outstanding. The only people that can eat in blu besides Aquaclass are suites, and that is only if space is available.  We never waited a single night for a table, but even if you did for a short time. It would be hard for me to go back to the big dining room after eating in Blu. (We also could order off of the main dining room menu if we wanted)

Hi, we’re on United, not Southwest so we can wait until we’re in port if necessary. Haven’t made any new friends yet, lol, maybe we will once onboard. Our flight is at 11:10 so we’re cutting it a bit close but I think we’ll be okay.

Many thanks again for your help and suggestions.

If all goes well you will be in range for your cellular service close to 7:00 am and you can check in.

Funny you say that, because Tenuta Torciano is one of the wineries I scheduled. They have the wine tasting etc around a 3 hour vespa ride. I’m going to arrange a car to take us right to their location near San G and skip Florence altogether that morning. Still looking for the shuttle service for one way Livorno port to San Gimignano.  Best price I’ve found so far is $225.

    Curious, why only 1 way?

So related question. We’ve been to Cinque Terre, Lucca, and Florence. My goal was to experience more of the classic Tuscany countryside.  I believe that region is best represented south of Florence, Chianti region?. Most of the tours I’ve found are out of Florence.  What would be the most efficient way to do that out of Livorno port, 2 days there?

    Tour example:

    https://www.viator.com/tours/Florence/Tuscany-Vespa-moped-tour-from-Florence/d519-71830P1

Tick off several of Tuscany's most renowned locations during this full-day Vespa tour. Enjoy a photo stop and farm visit at Fattoria Poggio Alloro and take a guided stroll through the picture-perfect village of San Gimignano, with free time to explore. Tours include a three-course lunch paired with a tasting of nine local wines at Tenuta Torciano.

    Sounds like a great tour.
we did a private tour with Rome in Limo, they are really more drivers than two or guides, but we have always had excellent commentary. The company will make a tour for you, or you can research and find the spots you want to go on your own. I arranged for a private lunch in the vineyards at Tenuta Torciano and it was the most wonderful travel experiences we've ever had. We ate under a beautiful pergola in the middle of the vineyards, and delicious food, and as you said, had nine glasses, sitting in front of us, and had nine tastings. It was so memorable, I hope you can go there.

Not an issue, don't worry about it. To be precise though, the HH drinks cannot be ORDERED in any restaurant or the buffet and a handful of bars are excluded. Whatsmore, It's not available on embarkation day and the drinks are ordered from a special menu. But once you order it from the bar you can drink it anywhere, For example, you can order cocktail, and a few minutes later order a bottle of water, and a few minutes later can of soda. Ask the cans not to be opened, and you can take them back to your room, another bar, or any restaurant, or pool deck.

You can order from the bar in the buffet.

Doubtful, but sometimes people cancel. If you really want to go on a specific excursion that is showing as sold out, you have two possible options...

    1. Go to the Shore excursions desk when you board and ask. They may be able to hold your name for a cancellation or may have extra space available. You never know unless you ask!

    2. Look for the tour independently. Check the Ports of Call section of this board and maybe even ask there to see if anyone knows the operator. Often they have a website where you can book directly (and maybe even save some money). Chances are they have allocated a number of spaces for the cruise line and have extra room to sell directly for other lines and local hotel tourists.

Or go online and check Viator. They generally have the same excursions for less

How does  it work for ending one cruise and starting the other?  We have the same cabin. This is our first B2B

    Thanks

    You didn't mention the ports.
we only did one back to back (Rome) and never had to get off the ship.

In contrast we just did Auckland to Sydney and the B2B passengers had to pack up, put their suitcases out the night before like everybody else, and leave the ship in the morning. Nobody was allowed back on until after 10:30 AM. This was due to an Australian law.

Talk to your butler on day 1.  They will let you know what they can provide.  Recently on our cruise, our butler kept our mini-fridge stocked with soft drinks (of our choice), bottled water (plain and sparkling), and beer (of our choice).

    Same for us last week.

With all the changes lately I don't want to rely on old board info. I will try and keep this simple. I normally wear clean dark jeans along with short sleeved casual or polo type shirts, (never tees) especially on NCL. When and where can I NOT dress this way on Celebrity (Summit)? Probably not on Chic Night in the MDR I think but in the theater on chic night? The casino? What about other locales and other nights?

    Everywhere, every night!!!

We disembarked a Princes Wharf on Friday 01/27/23 during the torrential rains that would later result in Auckland’s great flood. Needless to say, it was shear pandemonium for passengers trying to get transportation. We had luckily prearranged for airport transportation with a brief city tour. I wanted to share with my fellow cruisers our fabulous experience with Alpha Shuttles. We were a group of 13 friends disembarking with lots of luggage. Alpha Shuttles sent 2 beautiful Mercedes Benz vans to accommodate us. Their amazing drivers, Julie and Bruce, were top notch! They expertly whisked us around the city in the midst of heavy rain with delightful attitudes. They even happily agreed to drop some of the group at a hotel near the airport when they made last minute plans. Alpha Shuttles with drivers Julie and Bruce get our highest marks!

We used them the week before to get up to and back from Te Arie, wonderful service.

Another 👎 on the Huevos Rancheros. And biscuits and gravy.

Don’t expect a global international staff cooking in Luminae to know the ins n outs of Mexican/Hispanic or American Deep South southern cooking.

    Period.

Huevos Rancheros on eclipse this week

I was looking on Xs app for our Beyond Cruise.  There is a new menu for breakfast.    There isn’t the  egg rancheros,  parfaits with muesli, or granola.   It looks rather interesting and refreshing with some new stuff.    The eggs Benedict is limited to one choice, no hash brown potatoes, and there is no ham on the meat sides as there use to be.   I think they know better to eliminate the  bacon 😱.   I may have missed some stuff but if I did I guess what I don’t know about I won’t miss, not that I am disappointed with the stuff that was changed or eliminated.  Just don’t mess with the bacon.

Don’t know how accurate the app is but it will be nice to have something different than what the menu was for years.   If I don’t have enough variety there I can always go to the buffet,  spa cafe, eden cafe, elite breakfast, or Cafe al Bacio.    I doubt that there won’t be something that doesn’t help to  start off another fantastic day on a cruise.  If all else fails the old stand by liquid diet  of orange juice, or tomato juice with vodka, or tequila or other variations will work along with some liquid bread as the monks would refer to beer.  🍺🤗

    Life is great.

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
