  1. My own. Mix marinade. 1 inch thick strips of belly pork in marinade in fridge for an hour. Air fryer on 180c for 12 minutes, turn and another 12 minutes. Not too much honey otherwise it will burn.
  2. Air fryer arrived and used ! Easy meal to start, belly pork marinaded in honey, ginger and soya sauce with baby roast potatoes. Absolutely delicious, I'm a convert.
  3. P&O have not covered themselves with glory recently, but there are a few on here regularly beating the same drum saying they are not cruising with P&O again. Why are you still posting on this forum ? Are you trying to turn a few more away ?
  4. Being delivered tomorrow, looking forward to trying a new cooking method. I do the cooking, ex RN Officers Cook, left 48 years ago but you don't lose the skills.
  5. After reading many posts on Air Fryers, I decided to take the plunge. I didn't want to spend a lot and saw one on a shopping channel today. A German model N8Werk 5.5 ltr. Had a problem finding reviews but did on the German Amazon site and they were very good, so at £99 it seemed a good price. Time will tell. Congrats Kalos, nice one !
  6. Yes, I posted within seconds of the other one. I also asked for my thread to be removed. Okay ?
  7. Just read on F..... that Arvia's maiden has been cancelled, multiple posts confirming.
  8. Been on Iona three times in a standard balcony. A useful space for sitting with my kindle and a drink. If you want bigger, you pay for it.
  9. Some are a little bigger not enough to make a real difference. We have had that location before and no problem of noise. You might have a problem nearer the aft.
  10. We are booking this cruise and having a standard GF balcony on Deck 9. Given our TA a choice of 4, not going to say exactly where, but not far from the forward lifts. Cruised on Iona three times and found these cabins very nice for us.
  11. Pre registered for the Jan 25 Iona, 35 nights to the Caribbean. Our lovely independent TA, has got a small list of balcony cabins we will be happy with and will confirm on 3rd November. We have decided no more flying for us, so this cruise enables us to visit the Caribbean again. Love the sea days, so all boxes, for us, are ticked.
  12. Lots of emails from cruise company's this morning tempting me to pre register for 24/25. Very tempted with the Iona Jan 25, 35 nights, non fly to Caribbean via Tenerife, the warmer route. Is it worth committing at this time, who knows what the price will be nearer the time ?
  13. A lot are of a similar view, we are the opposite. Having visited most places current main line cruise ships go to, we love warm weather sea days, so a 35 nighter to the Caribbean, sailing the southern route via Tenerife appeals.
  14. Interesting. I don't think Iona is suitable for a long, hot weather cruise because of the enclosed Sky Dome. It would be too crowded on the open decks IMO.
  15. I too used the shuttle a few times in the 80's. The breakfast was good with a good full English on china and proper knives and forks in those days.
  16. Very little I agree with. PO should be more responsible and to tell people to contact their insurance when they know they're not covered, is almost fraudulent. I could go on but others have eloquently covered this topic.
  17. It is astounding that you continue to get abuse from idiots you are trying to help and keep from getting seriously ill. All credit to you for carrying on despite the abuse, you are the bigger person by far.
  18. Can't really add to what others have said. I have booked early, two years, and late 3 days ! So far I have not been upset with price rises after booking, but it will happen. If your travel dates are flexible and you don't want a specific cabin, maybe best to wait, but then again ......
  19. Don't want to get too deep into todays problems but I believe most of the problems are caused by lack of discipline which should start in the home. As kids we wouldn't dream of answering back any adult, never mind our parents. This has lead to a lack of respect for any authority, teachers, police etc. I'll stop there.
  20. So true, there was some real hard men around our estate but they didn't bother kids or women, there was a code even amongst thieves. Anything goes these days.
  21. No, we had to get on with it. Modern technology is great and we take it for granted we will be warm in the winter and well fed. However, being brought up on a council estate in the 50's, we could walk around safe without the fear of meeting gangs carrying knives, and drug dealers on every corner. Is that progress ?
  22. The good old days. Made men, and women of us. Getting up at 4.30am for early shift, wash and shave in temperatures just above freezing, but we got on with it.
