  1. Thanks for this review. Were your card key thingies given in the terminal or are they outside your cabin doors? Good to know about printed docs; I haven't printed them out in years (even pre-covid!)
  2. Thanks for this thread. I asked TA to check price on our SV and got it for about $200 less. A little less OBC but so what. I'll check one more time before final is due end of the month!
  3. ok thx. I suppose it'll just be the fanny pack and maybe pin for the subsequent cruises.
  4. We have a stop in Miami and plan to Uber to the beach and then Bayside for a mojito afterward. Personally, I would not want a cabin under any public deck.
  5. Just curious; my ages-old Carnival Tervis tumbler just bit the dust. . . TIA 🙂
  6. I asked the same question a few weeks ago. I notice the deck plan now has a doorway to the stairs that is not next to the aft-wrap cabin's door (oddly, this doorway did not show a few months ago when I booked). Experience on deck 7 of (maybe) Glory was I got to hear the crew door slam shut at all hours so I did not want to be right next to it. Wishing that by now we had some aft wrap pics and videos from this ship!
  7. If the aft wrap I've booked doesn't have a lounger, I will surely be asking for one. Two would be better. They have time to fix their "shortage"! Have never had an aft wrap or aft-facing on Carnival that did not have loungers. I'll report back too!
  8. I wouldn't let that stop me from trying it out though.
  9. We cruise on both, though we haven't been on Carnival since 2019, and have been on Celebrity twice in the past year. Yet, Venezia is coming to NY and I want to see what she's like. Best to try them out for yourself! Have not had a bad cruise on any line or ship yet. Remember, ALL major cruise lines have had cutbacks, and they are evident on every ship. I have lowered my expectations and still enjoy watching the sea go by from a ship balcony.
  10. Haven't tendered on Celebrity since 2020 and no recollection of how it works. Just show up? advance numbered tickets, ? does Captain's Club status play a role?
  11. Hi and welcome. I hear ya about local ports! We take the train in from NJ and we'll be home by probably 9am! Love that. CC does not seem to coordinate these events anymore. I have heard that some on the FB page arrange group get-togethers; I went to one last year that someone from FB posted on CC roll call so that's how I knew about it. Does NCL still do them? I know they did pre-covid (and I've hosted too) but have only been on one NCL since then (last April) and we didn't have meet n greet on that one (Gem). I think a cabin crawl would be cool on this one if we get a couple people to show their cabins!
  12. Oh does that mean we'll be hearing the door open and close while the steward is in that closet early in the morning? Also, these are all connecting cabins; hopefully it's quiet. We had connecting cabin on Beyond in Feb and heard nothing from next door.
  13. Thanks, everyone! Helpful. Appreciate all your responses.
  14. I can get non-stops to and from both LAX and SNA. 🙂 No non-stops to or from Long Beach. They seem to be almost equidistant. Someone told me always best to head AWAY from LAX, so that's why I checked out SNA and was happy to see non-stops! But. . . is it easier, quicker, etc., or just go with LAX.
  15. We'd like to check out the LA area a day or 2 before the cruise departs. So for that it seems we should fly into LAX,but after the cruise. . is SNA better just because it is a smaller airport? or do LAX round trip? Thanks in advance. If you're ever in the northeast cruising from NY or NJ--I will return the favor! 😁
  16. Haven't had a bad cruise yet--on ANY of the major lines.
  17. Yikes. Going on it in the fall, so I guess I'll adjust my expectations (after being on Beyond in Feb!). So does this mean that top deck is still a sundeck and they have not blocked it off for suite guests only? Like the Reflection had last year?
  18. ok, thanks. We've had aft facing on a few Caribbean cruises and it was way too hot with no breeze. Occasional soot depending on the wind (or worse, lack of wind as that's when the stern gets the soot). Love wake view!
  19. Hi. So that cabin is open on the cruise we're looking at. . . why was the balcony wider. . . is this ADA cabin? I notice ones above are also wider. Just wondering why before we book! Thanks in advance.
  20. HI everyone! In looking at photos of the stern, some of these SVs are wider than others. They are not marked as ADA cabins. Has anyone stayed in one of these and are they a standard cabin with just a wider balcony for whatever reason? (We do not want to book ADA as others may need these). Specifically decks 6-8 we're looking at. Thanks in advance.
  21. Hi all. So what time has actual boarding time started at the Red Hook port?
  22. Wait, there is a charge for some shows? I remember Norwegian charged for "Choir of Man" and I think some other murder mystery from years back. Other than that, no Celebrity, Carnival, Princess, Royal Caribbean or Virgin Voyages show had a charge for entertainment that I can recall.
  23. Sounds about right. For the return though, expect it to be much more. Still, it's cheaper than a car service or parking there.
  24. TA says she can't fix account issues; just reservation issues. Very frustrating that no one at MSC helps. Call and they direct you to emails that don't get answered. Not even sailed with them yet and already annoyed.
  25. Thanks, everyone. Not going to bother with XL.
