Is this were the outdoor tented shops used to be? Inside the fenced part of the cruise port? If you live across the street, we watched your place be built over the years; we have cruised almost annually to Saint John for at least 10 years--probably 12! 🙂 I look forward to a lobster roll!

So these are both options on a cruise we're considering. Do you really notice the cabin space difference in the XL?

Pretty sure DR took over as CEO of NCL when Kevin Sheehan left. (not sure with or w/o the "H" matters here, but ok) And in my opinion, of course! 😃 (and other cruisers as well if you go back to when he took over in 2015). And yes, things I did not like as a cruise consumer. e.g. NCL probably remains the only cruise line to increase DSC TWO times in one year. Other things too.

HI all. So I booked my first MSC cruise (though not first ever cruise) and got my level-match and reservation #s. Then I went on to set up an account. Only realized I misspelled my last name once I logged into the account I created. Cannot change the name (off by one letter). So I cannot link reservation or Voyagers # to the account since the names are not the same. Called # on website, then # website person told me to call (held 2 hours and never got a human). Concierge called after that welcoming me to MSC, and he could not help with the name fix but sent me back to the # on the website. He also told me I don't really need an account because I can do check-in through the ressie #. Well wouldn't it be a good idea to have an account anyway? I do on all the other lines; I can check points balance, loyalty tier, etc. I emailed MSC as well ( a week+ ago). At this point I give up! Suggestions?

Hmmmmmmmmm. How NCL handled anything did not stand out as great to me--no more or less than any other cruise line through unprecedented events.

I think things changed on NCL cruises when FDR took over, and a lot of it was not good.

I think they don't release all options ahead of time. I haven't been on Carnival since Horizon launched in maybe 2019, but when we wanted to eat at the steakhouse, we always got a reservation while onboard.

Might've been the same early February Beyond cruise I was on too. Beyond looked like Seascape's baby when you saw them both from the dock at PP! I'm trying MSC in the fall just to see what it's like. Bonus that it's in Brooklyn, NY, so no flights are involved for us. I still like and will cruise more with Celebrity, Royal, Princess, NCL and Carnival. Oh and Virgin. Maybe adding MSC to the mix; we'll see!

I guess it depends on the port and who is at the security station. My bottle of water was taken at security checkpoint in Port Canaveral which was the first stop on the cruise from NYC. After that I didn't bother carrying water back onboard.

There's a champagne bar?!?! If so, what do they offer? Just booked for November to try out MSC for ourselves while conveniently from NYC. I'm trying not to get too excited about any cruise line these days! Even the ones I've been on many times.

Not interested in paying a fee as we don't usually get bev pkg. 😁

On the Pearl I wouldn't worry about dining reservations. I've sailed its sisters, Gem and Jewel, and never had dining issues on any of the many cruises. Embarkation day one of the 2 dining rooms will be open for lunch. At least they used to be. One is aft and one is mid-ship. If you're on the same reservation, you will get the same check-in slot. Remember that Norwegian does not allow you to bring ANY beverages on board (unlike most other lines that let you bring your own water, soda, and/or bottle(s) of wine per cabin). I do not like this Norwegian policy. Even if you bring water the SHIP gave you off the ship, it will be taken away when you come back to the ship.

Thanks for this review. Looking at booking Meraviglia because we can drive to the port. . . and like to try out the various cruise lines for ourselves. Finally something different coming to NY/NJ area!

Isn't Beyond fabulous! I was on it Feb 5. I had read about it on here or FB, that's the only reason I knew what GO GREEN was when I got the email and it was also in the app somewhere in the check-in option. I'll have to be sure I got my points--you get more than one.

Right, those--the green ones. I don't get why they put suites high up and far forward--where you feel the most motion. Celebrity Edge class does this too. Happy cruising!

Ok, back to this. Hi Just looked at deck plan again, and we are looking at the cabins forward of 14778 (that one shows as Haven). The ones forward of that are not classified as Haven but just SC Penthouse Suite. So I'm assuming no Haven access.

Celebrity gives extra loyalty points if you do the one/day. In the evening the cabin steward just swapped our towels out. It worked fine. And it is less than $20 per day unlike the leader in the dsc $, NCL.

Pretty sure on Beyond last month the CC mixology event was 3 drinks. I remember mai tai, manhattan, and one other but it didn't look like that drink in post #7. I don't remember a cosmo. Or maybe there were 4 and I just don't remember. I don't think so though. Has anyone done the CC elite wine tasting? We missed it because we went to Captain Kate's Q&A that ran 1.5 hours so we showed up 30 min late and the door was closed. Just wondering what the wine tasting was like.

Right, but where is the door to enter the stairwell. It shows only on decks 6 and 7. I'm sure there is one on all decks for safety reasons. I know some don't get why I'm asking this, but believe me, the door slamming kept us awake when we had the door next to the stairwell.
