Totally agree. As for post-cruise, remember to always allow plenty of time to get your rental car dropped off, transfer to the departures terminal, and for check-in and TSA clearance. Once you've back-tracked that clock 😉 you'll know how much 'free time' you'll have.

I've never not arrived a day or two ahead of time! There's a huge weight off of your shoulders when you're already there that morning when you wake up and not 1000 miles away standing in an airport check-in line. Depending on your interests, Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center could be lots of fun. With any extra time left over, there's a Titanic museum about 30 minutes from the airport.

Pier 80, San Francisco - Parking and experience
dmwnc1959 replied to EDDY0827's topic in West Coast Departures
I guess the one saving grace is that I will only be 'visiting' and won't have to deal with the embarkation/debarkation aspect. Ruby Princess will be there that day as well on her turnaround day. I cruised her way back in 2012, so it'll be kind of nice seeing her again from our top decks. She leaves at 5pm, and I'll have to try and make sure I'm somewhere where I can take pictures of her leaving. -

Pier 80, San Francisco - Parking and experience

I was checking out the Marine Traffic app today and saw Grand Princess docked way down at Pier 80. I'm sure they have it pretty well set up by now, but that's gotta be an absolute mess. I was stationed in the Bay Area for several years back in the mid-80s, my ship was home-ported out of Concord but we also spent a lot of time at the old Oakland Naval Air Station and Mare Island. It's probably been 25 years since the last time I was out there. Very much looking forward to that day where I get to spend digging up old memories. -
Early flight out of MIA - How it went for me
dmwnc1959 replied to soremekun's topic in Florida Departures
I was reading on one of the Carnival boards this morning that disembarkation on one ship had been delayed well past 9am due to a fire alarm going off in the terminal, causing the terminal to be evacuated. I would never risk an early-morning flight. -
I think that once all passengers have disembarked on April 1st Norwegian Jade will leave Miami and make a bee-line for Tampa, probably arriving sometime mid-day on April 2nd. It will give them plenty of time to board stores and get prepared for the repositioning. And this could be a good thing.

I'm not seeing any gaps in the new March 2025 schedule that would facilitate this per @chengkp75

Simple questions in using the Starbucks package

Well, not all at once of course lol. 😉 Maybe over the course of 25- or 32-nights, and spread the costs out a bit. We each treat ourselves in different ways on our own cruises. I did the same on my last cruise with Royal Caribbean, they have a lovely patisserie. It made for a charming treat. -

Since it's another 11 months away and per @sfpd3000 Pier 35 should re-open after the dredge work, hoping Pier 30/32 is a last option. Per NCL we are there from 7am-9pm coming in from LA (and points south from the Panama Canal) then leaving for Astoria (and Alaska-bound). -

I’m curious about April 2025 when the Norwegian Jade visits. Ruby Princess will be there on a turn-around day, will Pier 35 be where we go? -
🤔 Any new news? Updates specifically on Norwegian Jade for March 2025? 😁

Note to self: bring Ziplock baggies. -
I was watching the Norwegian Encore on Marine Traffic and on her bridge cam this morning, and once inside the Los Angeles Harbor breakwater she did a 180° pivot and backed all the way down the channel to Berth 92. Is this common for all cruise ships visiting San Pedro as a port of call? The Radiance of the Seas was on her turn-around day occupying the World Cruise Center.

Edit to add: didn't realize I was responding to a year old thread. 😳 Are these like the old-fashioned paper tags that they mailed to you? Or are these printable off of the website when you're checking in? 😁

It's been a while, but now that you've refreshed my memory I do remember. Had to enjoy that scene one more time...🤣 -
If you are already booked, then you should be able to go onto your reservation and see what shore tours are available, and which ones match your interests and budget. Keep in mind some of these can run upwards of $250-$500 a person and can sell out fast. What you can also do is use Google. In the search box enter something like "Top 10 things to do in Skagway". Some cities like Skagway, Juneau, and even Icy Strait will have at least a dozen or two different excursions. I've cruised Alaska 5x, and am booked next year on a back-to-back (two cruises one after another). My interests are most definitely going to be different than yours. Some of the shore excursions that I have already booked are ones that others wouldn't at all be interested in. 😁

🤣 we hope not. But I can say that I have yet to meet a Girl Scout cookie that I didn't like. A couple years back someone donated pallets full of cases of Girl Scout cookies to the VA hospital where I worked at, and they were randomly passed out to the veterans and employees. Also being a veteran, I ended up with 12 boxes of different cookies, just to show you how many were donated to the hospital. And of course shared them with my three coworkers in the office. 😁 -

Sigh. 🙄 He's scarfing down cookies all the while going 'nom nom nom" (which you can actually 'hear' since we are all familiar with the character). And I'll tell you what: a year from now I will report back when I'm on my 32-night 🚢 cruise and show you pictures of 🍪 cookies. And I will giggle and have a sense of humor while I am eating my 🍪 cookies going 'nom nom nom'. And I will specifically purchase a Sid stuffed animal and we will both enjoy 🍪 cookies together. And we will both laugh and laugh and laugh. 🤣 🤣 🤣 😎 -

Actually, no it didn't. 😉 But since your post lacked a point of reference by quoting another post - which I assume you were alluding to the 'full plate of cookies left (discarded) in the hallway' - I went ahead and took the opportunity. Thank you for leaving the door open. 😎
