  1. Do you know what radio station? If it's XL 106.7 out of Orlando, FL you are gonna have so much fun. You won't be able to go to the special engagements but they hang out on deck a lot and it's one big party. Either way you're gonna be on a B2B...no way you won't have a good time!

My first cruise was an annual LGBT cruise during Halloween. I don't have anything to compare it to but it never felt like my choices were limited because of the special engagements. Happy cruising!!!

Hi, I just know the station is out of Tampa. I think I over reacted a little when I first found out. I bet its going to be a fun time!!!

  2. So I have not been lucky enough to get the free cruise offeres, I am paying 200% for my first sailing and a friend is joining the second. Buttttt......

My friend Aptil booked for the free cruise for her and another friend. 75% chance she (April) will not be able to go. What happens if her friends still wants to go. Since it was a free cruise will her friend have to pay for the trip when she gets there? Or can she do a no show if it comes down to that.

Oh and I ment free not feww in the title..... opps :(

  3. A couple of years back, we were on a cruise with a large group of 15 year old girls and all of their extended families celebrating their quint-cie celebration. I recall there were nearly 200 individuals in this group. Each day, the girls had different activities, clothes, presentations, etc. We saw them all over the ship but rarely at the pool. Every evening at dinner (late seating) they had some sort of presentation/demonstration before the "showtime" of the waiters. One evening, they were presented to the captain and head staff outside of the casino area.

Although I was aware of their presence, they were not a bother. Actually, we found them quite entertaining with all the clothes and drama of 15 year olds.

That said, having taken a chartered cruise with bands, activities, etc. and knowing what all can be scheduled and arranged, I can imagine that having to share a cruise with 700 folks in one group might be a bit intimidating. I have seen small groups of folks take over areas as well and make it less than pleasant to be in their company.

I strongly suspect that since this is a radio station, they will be providing their own entertainment. I also suspect that they will use the available venues but at times that do not compete with Carnival and their productions. Remember, Carnival wants to make money and please the other 1300 guests.

Go with an open mind. You will probably know they are there but your enjoyment of your trip will not be impacted.

Yes, on the website for the cruise itself it says that they will have entertainment, comedians special parties in the lounges. I guess Pitbull is supposed to be on it too.

As some have pointed out, with that many people it might be lighter in other areas of the ship. I am hopeful. I want to continue relaxing and not be listening to loud music as they broadcast from the ship or something. I guess we will see. I have a porthole so maybe there will not be much action up that way?

  4. I just found out that my second leg of the cruise will have a radio station on with around 700 guests. So if my ship holds 2000 passengers thats almost 1/3 the ship. I have heard that they are having special guests, bands and that some of the bars will be closed as well as special comedians.

That to me seems like I will be limited with what I will be able to do on the ship! Has anyone been on a sailing like this. What have your expiriences been?

I think had I known I would have not booked these sailings as I am doing b2b.

  5. Never realised stella 'cidre' had worked its way stateside...what a revelation! :)

If its not already about stateside there is a new flavour of stella cidre probably coming soon...its tasty even if it doesn't taste of cider, here it is:

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT93y4YIU4U7tYcOnudZm7-1mPSNdQLsV0NaZhUyY3L6C6b6zljTA

    MMMMM....raspberry!

Ohhhh this would be nirvana!!! I aboslutly LOVE raspberry!!! I might have to go to the local package store and see what is available. I only found the regular Stella a few weeks ago at a local bar... Thanks for this information!!!!

  6. You are after my own heart! I absolutely love love love all ciders and go out of my way to try every type I can find. Stella's cidre is the most smooth tasting cider I have EVER tried, but I rarely ever find it out at places. Strongbow is a good alternative to sweetness - it still has a god taste but is not overwhelming, like I feel Reds can be. Angry Orchard is probably my favorite go to becuase it is a nice balance of flavors. Woodchuck would be my second favorite as well.

I've seen both Strongbow and Angry Orchard, hopefully it will be picked up and carried more often. We were just in New Orleans this past weekend and finding it on Bourbon street was a rarity

Yeah that Stella is nice! Now that I know it is not on the ship I want to bring some on! but I wont. I will only bring my alloted wine with me. But so wish they had the Stella!!

  7. To add to the change of pace - try it with a shot of Jose Cuervo Cinge Cinnamon Tequila, similar to the fireball whiskey blend except not as strong of a cinnamon taste.

We love Angry Orchard; we keep it in our fridge at home at all times! On the Conquest this year they had it in cans. Also, if you like a nice change of pace try it with a shot of Fireball Whiskey; it's called Angry Balls and it's a great mixture! :D:eek:

Wow these may be a little too much for me!! But hey, I am not goijg to be driving so I think I might try one!!! :D

  8. Black Box moscato is great! Actually all of the Black Box wines are great!

I have never looked for Moscato in a box, is this one good and is it readily available? Say in Tampa?

I have a sparkling Moscato I LOVE but I know that would never be in a box.

I am doing a B2B so I would be allowed 2 bottles, 1 for each sailing. My friend is joining for the second leg. Would I be able to show the boarding pass and bring on 3 bottles? She is flying in and coming right to the port, I will be in the day before the start of the B2b

  9. I just booked for myself for Oct 21st!! There are 2 other ships in port- Carnival Conquest and a Princess ship. I am not sure how busy it will be since my ship does not dock till 11. I hope I dont get there and have to share a space with someone and be far away from the beach... I want to be able to relax and have me time!!

  10. You pay $25, put your luggage out the night before as usual and do not see it until you get off your flight home.

Your boarding pass is printed for you and delivered to you on board, so straight to security...no ticket counter/check-in.

Only some ships & some airlines participate.

We have used it and found it fabulous...no luggage schlepping is great!

I have been on a few ships and I have never heard of this! I wonder if they know what airline you have and match it up this way in terms of letting you know about it? That would be a nice convinience!!!

  11. Sunset runs boats on the hotel schedule and does not adjust to a ship schedule

Sunset is one of the best shore dives on the island and you do that 100% on your own schedule

I prefer Sunset for a Discovery because of the facility. First they do the 'talking' part in a nice sit down environment. Second the skills are first practiced in their pool. Third they have the 'sea pool' which makes the first exposure to 'open water' a very controlled experience ... then you move to true open water when everyone is comfortable.

I found this much better (IMO) then a beach experience (Cozumel) which would be better than a boat on the same factors.

Sunset does not have scheduled Discovery times - I made the arrangements for times I wanted - we did the dive from Freedom of the Seas.

I admit a bias. I've been diving with Sunset since the mid 80's ... they've been in business at the same location for 42 years and are very nice folks. Probably 1/3 of the dives in my log, are with Sunset House ... 1 in 10 on the 'house reef' .. And nothing beats My Bar for after dive libations.

I have contacted them and I got an email saying to contact someone else. Now that person has not responded and its been like 3 days. Is this typical?

  12. So I want to try scuba and I would like to do it on the cruise coming up in Oct. I wanted to go to Nachi Cohem in Cozumel but was wondering which Island would be better to do a intro to Scuba.

    Also some questions=

    Is there weight limits?

Do you have to wear a suit or can you just in your bathing suit?

For the first time, would I be able to take my camera?

    Thanks!!

  13. Sailed from Tampa quite a few times, (I live there). We always arrive around 10:30 am and are on the ship pronto with DOD in hand on the Lido by 11:30. We've done with and without FTTF in Tampa and boarding time was roughly the same so probably won't bother with next Tampa cruise. On the other hand, FTTF was essential in Miami.

Couple things can delay boarding. Fog. Customs problems. Haven't personally had either of those happen, but it does happen every year.

I am planning on being there at 1030! Just a quick question, does fog affect Oct sailings?

  14. Thank you to those with information reguarding the months of fog typically.

My concern is flight reasons. If the ship would be delayed (or even a posibility) I would like to make plans ahead of time just in case. i would not want to have a flight at 12 and have the boat dock at 3 as others have said. The I would be in trouble since my flight would already have left.

  15. My brother sister and I want to plan a 50th wedding anniversary cruise from NY for my parents.. granted they just celebrated 45 years yesterday. Its early I know but I am a planner and when I know something is coming I want to plan!! So we decided on a cruise as they do not want a party and have made that clear since their 25th anniversary.

I tried to do a mock booking for NY and the first date showing is May for the Caribbean? And in Sept Oct is Canada. We wanted to do NY as we are a hop skip and jump away from the port and there will be at least 9 people, possibly more if my sister get pregnant and I find someone for myself to marry. We thought it would be nice to get away in Feb since we used to always take a family vacation then.

I guess if that's not possible then we can always go from Baltimore as that's a direct flight from Hartford and Southwest is pretty decent in fares normally.

Again I know its early but just wanted to know about NY really!!

  16. I cant wait to go through the rest of the dresses on here!! Seems like there is a bit!!! I wanted to post an idea I had for a black dress and making a belt for it... What do you all think? Plus I am hoping it can do double duty on my B2B. One with the belt one without?
