  1. I was at Nachi on 2 occasions in the last month, Oct 21st and the 25th on my B2B cruise. I went both times becasue I had read sooooo many great things and seen so many great pictures. Now I am not one of those people that say EVERYTHING is wrong but I have to say I was under whelmed.

So the 21st I cannot count as it rained a portion of the day and then it was just gloomy and cold since I did go swim a little.

On the 25th it was sunny and georgoeus out and I was expecting an amazing day at Nachi. We were set up under a palapa that got no sun. I had to manuver my chair at angles to get some. Most sun I did get was when I went into the pool. The beach had a ledge when you walked in and as someone said it was not enough to spill thier drink, its not the same coming out, you fall onto the beach with the surf pushing you. I got scraped up a bit. Food was just ok. Had somehting different each time and it was just so so. Drinks were good.

Service was great and the people super nice but the beach, which is what I was looking for the most to this vacation left a lot to be desired. Maybe it was time of year but I dont think that would casue the lip in the beach. The water was not the beautiful Cozumel water I have always expirienced. I do not think I will ever go back there unfortunatly. Best part of the place was the pool.

  2. I am going solo for the first time in 10 days and I have my time dining. I want to really do wat I want to when I want to. I want to have dinner on my own. Do people think differently of someone who does this? I am totally fine eating on my own but just wondered what the general feel was.

  3. They have an awesome breakfast and nightly managers reception with free drinks and snacks. The hotel itself is also nice, not complete upscale but very clean and friendly. This is our go to place when we cruise out of Tampa. We have taken the shuttle they provide<which is set up with other hotels also> this year we are just calling a cab to get there quicker and it is cheaper with 3 of us.

Thank you for this information!! Can I ask, are there stores that sell wine thats walking distance? And since I will be solo I think its best to take the shuttle. Do they pick up early? the hotel did not tell me much :(

  4. We will be getting on as you get off. Leave some of the love for me.

Also don't miss the shows in the main show room awesome, that is why we cruise this ship.

I will leave her in good shape for you!!!! I can't wait to check out the shows!!!

Seago2- thats a great picture! I hope they do that on the Paradise!!!

  5. Just returned from a B2B2B2B on the Sensation.

Yes you will be escorted off the ship threw customs ( no waiting ) & back on. The SENSATION were taking pictures with some of the staff with a banner of WE LOVE OUR B2B CRUISERS. Nice touch, we then got a free drink at the lobby bar. This was a first for Larry & I since we hadn't done a B2B since April.

If you are cruising out of Tampa ( PARADISE OR PRIDE ) you will just pick up you new S&S card at guest services.

We are doing a B2B on the Paradise next mth so we will see then.

A word of advice don't plan on doing your wash or taking a shower after 10:30 threw 1:15. That is when they do all the checks & it often includes water pressure.

If you have other questions just give a shout. We have done a lot fo B2B'S & have four more coming up this year.

    Hi,

When are you doing the B2B? Im Oct 18 and 23rd!!! My first!!!!

  6. So I have been reading a lot about B2B as I am doing my first in less then a month, and I have read things that seem to not to apply to all...

Of course I want to experience how great its going to be but I have some questions based on what I have read..

Do you get to keep your original room key? I collect mine...

Do you get to take another embarkation photo? ( not a huge deal)

I read that they take a group photo of all B2B?

Some people say they have a gift in their room when doing B2B and others say they have nothing. I don't expect anything but how come the mixed information?

I'm looking forward mostly to not having to get off of the ship and having it to myself for a little while!!!!

  7. OP -

I noticed you are doing a B2B on the Paradise in October. Are you planning on coming back and doing any reviews? I hope so as we are sailing on her in February and there aren't nearly enough reviews out there on the Paradise.

Great thread - learned some very interesting info.

Hi GeorgiaMomo! yes I do plan on doing a review, and not a 1 post type review. I know she is an older ship but I have been on her before a few years ago and loved her. Most reviews these days are for the bigger ships but I think Paradise warrents a nice review!

  8. Please don't flame as I think I was a little tipsy when I did this last year but I removed auto tips. (It is the only time I have done this) I was going through paperwork tonight and found a receipt showing the breakdown,

Daily tip- 11.50 ( I think its a bit more now?)

    Alternative services- 2.00/day

    Dining/Room Service- 5.80/day

Cabin Steward- 3.70/day For those that DO remove auto tip on their cruise, please don't. When you break it down its really not a lot. I regret doing it this last cruise but did tip via cash. Though I always tip via cash on top of the auto tip.

The point of my post was to show the breakdown.

  10. Pillows - First time cruiser on carnival. What's your experience with pillows? Do people take their own? Pretty attached to mine and thinking about taking it.

I have a small pillow that I put on top of my normal pillow. Im going to be 34 tomorrow and I cannot sleep without it :p But I find that the pillows are better then those at home. I actually want to buy some bedding from Carnival.

  11. I have taken advise from many of you and I have made out pretty well. I am planning on losing this weight I have on right now so thats why I did not want to spend a lot. I think the most I paid for something just becasue I liked it sooo much was 35 for a maxi dress. Its really nice and from EBAY! I was a 14-16 a couple years ago and now a 24. Yes I gained a lot (2 surguries) but I look at those 14-16 pants and think, YES I will be there again one day!

thank you all for this information!!!!

  12. I'm assuming the travelling companion is only joining for the second cruise, otherwise the question would be about 4 bottles, not 3. Otherwise, I have nothing to add.

Yes sorry she is joining me on the second half of my B2B and flight is in around 1pm. She is going straight to the port. So as another poster siad to meet her at the port, I will be on board already. And it would be 3 bottles since I have 2 for me and then 1 for her.

    Sorry for any confusion!

  13. First I am doing a B2B so I will be bringing 2 bottles with me.

The second this is the person traveling with me is coming direct from the airport and will not have time to stop to get a bottle. I will be in Tampa the day before and will stop and purchase wine there. If I show that bpoarding pass and expalin the situation will I be allowed to being 3 bottles?
