  1. I cant wait! I hope that it is dark by then. Or dusk at least, I think it would make for some great pictures at night!

I would only have a few things to buy but then again, I will be in port again a few days after that so either way i would be able to get the few things I need to! I have been to Cozumel 3 times already and I just would want to get some t-shirts for my 10 year old newhew and my 15 month old niece. I dont really need much.

Ohh I cannot wait!!! the only port I was in late at night was Nassau....

  2. I am looking to go a bit cheeper in Grand Caymen as I will be going to Nachi in Cozumel and I know this will cost me a little.

What would be the best beach to go that is-

    1. Nice, not super crowded (more relaxing place maybe not so many kids?)

    2. have a water float

    3. the option to buy food and drink

    4. not a very expensive taxi?

I not been to a beach in Grand Caymen as I have done excursions before. This trip is ment to relax. I love kids but I just would love to hear the sound of the ocean....

    Thanks!!!!

  3. What time do stores stay open till? I wonder if I can get a bit of time at the beach, and be able to shop later and have a later dinner on board. But if ships close at 5 I would have to re think my plan.

    Thanks!!!

  4. I was debating and going back and forth about going to Nachi. Here are my concerns,,,,

I am going to be in Cozumel on Oct 21 from 11-8pm (9448 people in port) Then I will be on Cozumel again on Oct 25 from 9-6pm (13092 people in prot) I am wanting a full beach day and I guess I dont want to get to a beach at 12.

    So here are my questions...

    1. Which day is better for Nachi? (I am thinking the 25th with over 13k people)

    2. I will be solo, will I have to sit with others? I would like to have the choice of shade or sun.

    3. Will it be safe to leave my things up on the beach when I go float in the ocean?

    4. Does anyone know if they can make a Malibu Bay Breeze? (Cocunut rum, pineapple juice and cranberry?)

    5. Lastly, taxi, As I said I will be solo. I cant see myself paying around $120 for just me for taxi, admisson and tips. I never took a taxi in Cozumel... Will they take people in 1 taxi that may be going to seperate places? Like another beach club?

I just want a relaxing day, as this trip is to be a relaxing trip. I just cannot see this happening with some of the other beaches.....

    Thanks!!!!

  5. Thank you all for responding!

I have yet another question. I will have a sign n sail account set up with cruise cash and cash. I know I have to cash out at the end of the first cruise. But how do things get set up for the second part? I just posted a question about the actual cruise cash. I would assume it would be there to use? Oh and then at the end of the second leg cash out as well in the casino!

  6. I just read another thread about gift cards and I was wondering what I would do with the cruise cash. I already have started to purchase, and anticipate that it should show on my account when I board. I tried to gauge roughly how much I think I will spend and will buy that as cruise cash since I wont have an actual credit card, but a mastermoney debit/credit card. I dont want to have money held up.

So when I set up the account online, I should just set up as cash?

What about when I check in? Do they require something when checking in? I have used a credit card in the past but I am giving them up. Literally I am just going to have 1 for emergency only. I am trying to control my spending:( so it is cash all the way.

    Thoughts? Advise?

  7. Are you in the same cabin? If so, that is the biggest plus of a b2b. No packing and unpacking for cruise #2.

The food venues are usually opened early for guests boarding early so even if they are closed briefly between breakfast for the departing guests, the turnaround for them opening for lunch for the new embarking guests is very minimal. We have in the past boarded by 10:30am and Lido was opened.

As you said, after having breakfast you probably will not be looking for food anyways.

I would think that Guests Services would be opened as they are manned 24 hours a day. You would need your new S&S card before setting up a new account and no, GS is not where you will usually get it. You will receive a letter the night before and meet in a designated area to receive your new card, walk off the ship as a group, go through immigration and then return to the ship. You card will be activated as you re board the ship. There was an occasion that we received our new card with the letter the night before but we still had to wait to re board the ship before our card was activated.

Luckily yes, I am in the same cabin!! So that helps a lot!!!

Don't forget that you can go to the Fun Shops after 7 PM the last night of your first leg and purchase a bottle or two and they give you them to take back to your room. If you buy it on shore or earlier at the Fun Shops it may not be delivered to your room at the end of the first leg, as has been reported here by some. So if you "imbibe" at all this is a more inexpensive way to do so. Enjoy your cruise.

I thought about this but I would never be able to drink a whole bottle within 4 days!! But I do remember seeing smaller bottles of something.. Maybe vodka in like a sample pack, I could get that!

  8. Is anything open? I was wondering if after I get my room key I can check out the table I am at. First leg is YTD and second is with my friend and I want to do just the 2 of us,

I read that food will not available or drinks (not a big deal as I will be ok from breakfast and I will have my wine if I want a drink)

Would guest services be open? I know that that is where we would meet to get the new card. But I wonder if I would be able to go there and set up my account as I will use cash for the sign and sail account. Too bad that they cannot link the first to the second :(

I know I am going to take advantage and go around the ship. I will have a nice new camera to try thats got a wider angle, I cannot wait!!!

  9. The deposit is different for a 3-5 day cruise ($100 pp) and 6+ day cruise ($200 pp) . Sometimes, certain rates offer a $50 pp deposit.

This info is incorrect. The deposit for a 6 & 7 day cruise is $250 pp. It's $300 pp for 8 day cruise.

This is the normal deposit but could be lower if a special promo is offered.

The cruise is for Oct for a single 4 night... Its just odd...

  10. I have a question since I have not seen and do not see a promo.

Deposits, I thought they were set deposits. I am confused becasue within a few days when doing a mock booking on a cruise, I have gotten various deposit amounts. The same cruise, date cabin all the same.

One was $300, the next $100 and the last today was $400. As I mentioned, NOTHING is different on the mock booking. I am trying to see if there is a rate reduction on my cruise and as I do the mock reservation these deposits are crazy! From $100 last week to $400 this week??? When the trip would be $556??? Is $400 not a lot???

Thank you in advance!!! Oh and Carnival could not tell me anything really of relavance.

  11. So I am doing a b2b and I guess my biggest reason for wanting to do FTTF is because I will be bringing 2 bottles of wine on board and I really do not want to lug that and have lunch and figure out how to keep things where they need to be and not taken. Also, I like to get luggage early and it would be nice to get to the room nice and early. I know there are many threads but I thought I would ask,,,

  12. I fly in on Friday around 230. I am looking for a Hotel that has a shuttle from the airport and not that far from the port. I have called about 5 or 6 hotels and they are not near any grocery stores or liquor stores ( I am doing a b2b and I do not want to fly my wine down if possible) Also, if there is a good restaurant nearby.

So main criteria is airport shuttle, not far from port, a store of some sort to buy water and juice and to buy my wine.

I am going to continue to research but if someone knows I would appreciate it! I have tried to research the boards but I cannot really find much and the massive thread about Tampa is a bit much to go through!

    Thank you!!!

  13. So I cannot find any information on this, and Carnival does not seem to have anything I can really find on the website,, unless I am looking in the wrong place

So I booked the second leg as a solo and now was going to have my friend join me. But the cabin is paid in full with the early saver. Can she still be added to the same cabin?

I was going to do a solo a few years back but my Mom went with me. I was able to get her added, and this was prior to paying in full.

    Can anyone advise?

  14. So the wine does have to be in the bag you bring with you through security? I ask becasue I am flying in day of and the bottles will be well packed in my suitcase that I was going to check. If I let them go in my suitcase, will they take them out? I thought that on my first cruise I brought a bottle and I left it in my suitcase? But then that was 2008.

    Thanks all!!!

  15. Carnation and special dessert in the MDR. The Seaday Brunch was great on Mother's Day!

I know this response is too late for your question, but hopefully it will be helpful to anyone who does a search on this topic in the future...

On the Freedom last week, every woman (not just Moms - obviously, Carnival has no way to know for sure who is a mother and who isn't) received a carnation and a special desert at dinner in the MDR on Mother's Day.

LOL thanks!! My mom actually was able to bring hers home!!! Pink carnations!!

  16. With over a dozen cruises and 1900 posts here what else were you expecting?

only 5 cruises so far. not sure where you see more???? And on none of them did Carnival check... I was expecting people flame. and most of my posts are asking questions. I learned a lot from other posters here on other cruise lines. I wish Carnival would take the initiative to do the same...

  17. I searched the forums and did not really find the answer to my particular situation.... Sooooo

I arrive in Tampa Oct 18th, 12pm day of cruise. I leave Tampa Oct 27th, after getting off cruise. Flight is 10:55am. Oh and I am on my own.....

What would be best, taxi or shuttle?

Embarkation- I am thinking shuttle. But then what is the best shuttle to take as I have found a few for Tampa...

Debarkation- Is there traffic on Monday AM in Tampa? I wonder if a taxi would be better becasue this is right to my terminal where a shuttle has to fill up and then stop at various terminals.

Thoughts? I know a shuttle would be less $$ but also want to get there on time.

    Thanks!!!

  18. You definitely wouldn't catch me trying to walk that far. :D (Especially "solo")

You can check out my review from last year. There's tons of pictures. We enjoyed the place.

Love the pictures!!! Do you happen to remember how many ships were in port that day?

I am concered becasue I saw someone posted where the place was packed. With the B2B I am going to be there twice. First time 11-8pm with 3 ship (approx 9500 ppl) Second time 9-6pm with 5 ships (approx 13092).

I did not see anything on the site of how many people they take in. I know at Nachi its only 100 so thats nice. But more money too.

I wanted to ask you, although I can look later, the places you have listed, do those lead to different reviews where you have been? I am assuming since I clicked on Playa Mia and it brought me to your Dream review.

  19. I am looking to try and save money on my next cruises and I see that I can buy my favorite rum as well as the cranberry juice. The only thing I am not seeing is the pineapple juice....

Soooo question is.... has anyone been able to order something that is not on the menu? I will have to evenually call I think but just wondered. I know they have pineapple juice becasue I order Malibu Bay Breeze's all the time. I just want to be able to make my own. I dont really want to have to bring that with me....

  20. If you aren't thinking about trying to avoid muster drill, why did you bother to ask?

    DON

I bother to ask because I read that people are scanned that they are there and I had never heard that before. Why would I try to ever skip something that would save my life?

And again, I stress I ALWAYS go to muster. And I listen unlike other people whispering and laughing and complaining.

How about you skip muster on your next Carnival cruise, and then post what happens for the rest of us. :D

I would never skip muster. Why would I want to do that and risk my life. Whatever the cruise, my life is a bit more important. People have mentioned to that with a B2B they sometimes do not have to do the second one, but guess what... I WILL be there.
