  1. Sorry if I have asked this before but if I did, is must have been a long time ago.

Looking to sail smaller ships, and cannot find the answer on web their web site

    My question is

Does my d+ loyalty level on RC and/or X have any reciprocity with Azamara?

  2. While many people do not dress up any more, Many Many others do and seem to enjoy the dressier evenings(requested) On Caribbean cruises, my lady dresses with very nice modern clothes, it is her only chance to do so. Living in Florida dress is casual almost every where. While on longer cruise and tours in Asia, or Europe we tend to dress down a bit because of travel before or after a cruise and have no room for SPECIAL attire.

  3. the Airlines. If you both booked with choice air or booked the same airlines no problem. Travel is simply not rocket science.

I will agree on our last United Flight to Hong Kong, that was the worst crew I have ever experienced. At least my United upgraded premium economy seats were better than American who's upgraded seats are just in a better section, with the same leg room.

  4. You can walk it if you do not want to take a bus. One of the restaurants was on the cooking show. Conch salad, conch fritters, conch most anything GOOD but it is not gourmet just home cooking.

    PS Nassau restaurants are EXPENSIVE

  5. I am currently on the Navigator and am having a real problem with the extra tipping on the bar tab. I have no problem with the daily tipping but there is already an 18% tip added to your drink cost. I bought an empty light up plastic glass today, they added the 18% service charge and the waitress was visibly disappointed that I did not add an additional tip.

The tipping is getting out of control. I do tip extra at the end of the cruise for our room steward and wait staff as long I feel that they have given good service.

    Any thoughts?

I totally agree we do the same. Tipping is out of control! not just on cruise ships but everywhere, except American restaurants and now they kinda expect 20%

  6. Which is twice, the food is OK, but the service on both occasions was no better than the Olive Garden and with a bad waiter. Now, on the Oasis, we did the Italian restaurant with about 8 people, and it was fun, we tried everything and lots of wine and no one cared about the service. Maybe a good point for having fun in the Tuscan.

  7. But after our Xmas and NY cruise and yes the 7 am out of cabin was asked and no problem for us and we are 70 and 76 years old. Having said that, we ask for early departure luggage tags which got us off the ship at around 7:30. If I had a luggage tag that was like 9-10am it would be a PITA to set some where and wait.

If the employed cut backs in room stewards is the reason, saving X money it is not fair to pass on time restraints issues to the cruiser.

For those taking issues with the 7 am out of cabin, I'm willing to bet that if you needed up to an extra hour NO PROBLEM.

  8. You might want to investigate .

There are many ways to see the Galapagos than on X and a whole lot cheaper.

Of course depending on your health and mobility and if you won a lottery(LOL)

  9. If 75% of the pax on the cruise ship you are boarding had the Noro virus. Cancel, walk in a bubble of disinfectant. Heck just wash your hands every time you get a chance, and you might not get it NOTE MIGHT

Side note, we always start a probiotic before travel on a cruise ship, land tour, or on our own. Knock on the paper our travel insurance is printed on, Never had the pleasure of meeting a toilet up close and personal. Sorry In Peru, yes that is what got us on Probiotics but the Noro according to both medical centers in Peru and home said it did not come from Peru.

  10. X for it ships and size are a mass market cruise line, with a twist to better service. As a long time RC cruiser (D+) my comparison of RC's larger ships and X's ships like the Equinox and Eclipse the big difference is entertainment and service which to me is X's focus. The target cruisers market is anyones guess.

The ships have to sail full, LOTS of competition to deal with. The demographics of the cruiser and the mentally of of what cruisers of all ages expect is wide and varied, like me I find most of the activities boring and I'm 76 years old and would love to hear a little more rock music on the ship and yes, I'm not alone. As a CEO you have to do what is necessary in the cruise market to make money. I will agree, lots of "cut backs" in staff/food etc, maybe important to some for not having a bartender or server catering to your immediate needs is important, but they might think about paying a lot more money to a upscale cruise.
