Hi folks,
so I would normally on a 7 day inside cabin Caribbean cruise save around $100/pp in total. The last couple of cruises I have booked with her, she has given me $50/pp discount, but no OBC. I'm normally paying about $700/pp and then get $100/pp in discounts/OBC plus whatever Princess offered.
Am I still getting a good deal, or should I be looking at other TA's?
Thanks!
For a simple 7 day Caribbean cruise in an inside cabin, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I'd stay with her, because you have a relationship with her and you never know when you'll need her help or expertise.

I certainly have heard good things about EZAir prices to Europe from the US, hopefully prices from Canada are also good. Worst case, it's a short drive for us down to Boston :)
I got a great price for flexible air YVR-LHR O/W in Premium Economy on Air Canada this past May. It was about $200 cheaper than booking direct with AC and I called the airline and they assigned seats as soon as I had booked it, even though it wasn't ticketed. I assume that's because it was Premium Economy and not Economy.

It is fixed, we are back on again.

Thank you Theo!!! I can't tell you how many times I have used and appreciated your site. I will see if I have any photos of cabins that you don't have yet and email you.

Thanks for the clarification. That's why I couldn't find the option. I was looking under the existing booking, Change/Modify Flights which does not allow changes from return to one-way. I didn't realize I had to cancel and restart. When I try it with another one of our bookings, the option to choose "Direction", "Departure" and/or "Return", does show up.
You’re welcome. As an FYI, I recently booked flexible one way air YVR-LAX and I got business class on Air Canada for less than on the Air Canada site.
Plus I don’t have to pay until final payment. Check it out, you may decide the upgrade is worth it, especially with the airline’s new increased baggage fees and seat reservation fees.

Yes it is possible to book one way air. You will need to cancel your return air first and start again. When you do, in the “Search for Flights” screen you must choose your flight options and it will allow you to choose one way, either the outbound or the return.

I have to agree with Pam. Much prefer the Royal over the Grand! I also have a B2B booked on her next year.

Do you know if this is still in effect? Our sailing is 10 days ... didn't see it offered on our last cruise, which was only 7 days. Not sure if they are still doing it at all with the changes made to the beverage package.
It was offered on the Royal this past April on the 15 day TA, and those were still the prices.

If that's the only hot cereal you like, by all means, bring some. I don't remember ever seeing Cream of Wheat on a ship. Your request for hot water and an empty bowl would pose no problem in the MDR. In the buffet, you can just grab it yourself.
On the Royal in April they offered oatmeal, cream of wheat and congee each morning in the buffet.

The flights are already posted, it's less then 330 days out. It's funny that there are a lot of these ridiculous flight paths. I will wait to book my flights when there are some non stop flights which should be 21/2 hours.
I used EZ Air and booked a non-stop flight May 4, 2019 YVR to LAX on Air Canada and the flexible price, which doesn’t have to be paid until final payment, is the same as I would have to pay the airline right now. That’s a win-win to me.

I sailed on her twice. Once in early 1998, and they had draped black over Diana’s portrait. [emoji853] Then I was on her second to last cruise in South America in 2005. I remember having an ocean view cabin with one twin bed and one “Murphy” type twin bed that folded out of the wall at night, but was closed up during the day. And yes, we had a bathtub!

I can't answer your question, but I will say that we were cruising Alaska in early June 2011 and had a stop in Victoria. The Vancouver NHL team was in the semi-finals and had beaten the Boston Bruins. In the inner city harbor in Victoria, Lord Stanley's statue was wearing a Vancouver hockey jersey! :)
Unless something has changed, your Lord Stanley’s statue is actually Captain James Cook - but point taken about the hockey jersey... [emoji16]

The Retreat pool is free and it’s very windy there. You also have to get there early for a lounge.
Tony
I think that must vary with the itinerary. I have gone on a 10 day Caribbean cruise and recently the 15 day TA on the Royal, and never had a problem getting a lounger, although it could be a bit windy.

Where are prepaid tip listed/shown on PCL website? The location I can see them paid on the website .
By website, do you mean the general PCL information about gratuities? Or are you referring to the online information regarding your own reservation?
If the former, try here: https://www.princess.com/come-back-new/top-ten-faq/.
If the latter, you will need your 6-character Princess reservation code, which the TA should have provided you. Then you will need to access your Cruise Personalizer here: https://book.princess.com/captaincircle/myPrincess.page and look under Payments & Credits. Be warned that if they are a gift from your TA, and not a Princess promotion, they may not show there until closer to your departure.

My vote is for the Bayou Cafe also. Like the ambiance and the live music.

If I have OBC I wait to pay gratuity if not I prepay, I like stepping off the ship with 0 balance on my CC. I have not noticed any difference in service, some stewards are better than others.
This. And the fact that if I pre-pay in CAD I usually get a better exchange rate than having them charge to my credit card in USD and converted.

Pretty sure we have no 5 ship days this season - there are some 4-shippers, which will be an absolute nightmare, as unlike previous years I recall that happening there is total overlap of timing with all 4 vessels on a 'normal' 7-8am to 4-5pm day rather than an oddity like one arriving after a previous one has left...
Nope, no 5-ship days. Only three 4-ship days - Sunday, May 13th, Saturday, June 2nd and Saturday, August 18th. But about twenty-five 3-ship days - which are bad enough! Especially when you take into consideration the passenger counts from those 3 ships. Some days you're looking at possibly 8,000+ passengers disembarking and another 8,000 embarking! :o

Do you recall the cost of the visa, if just doing a shore excursion?
Can’t remember exactly, it was almost 2 years ago, but I believe at that time it was under USD $10.

They used to hand out free packs of cards, but I haven't seen this for years - maybe eight or so years. They also used to have them as a prize at trivia. Once again, I haven't seen this for years.
Yes, I still have a couple of decks that I won. Ti Many Martoonies cards with 52 different martini recipes on them.

Yes, I’ve heard of this before, and YES I’d do it in a heartbeat. I’d use some of my refund to book Sanctuary and make that my balcony...[emoji16]

We got ours on the ship and they just charged our onboard account. That was for doing shore excursions during the cruise, not land vacations before or after. We hold Canadian passports - not sure if that makes a difference.

Yep, I like that idea! I'm less than 2 years from retirement and my husband and I are looking at various options for spending Jan - March each year. This is one I can definitely get into!

P.S. I’m a semantics freak, but I can’t figure out which one of the plans applies to my cruise. I’m not really “sailing between now and April 7th” or “sailing after April 7th”, I’m sailing ON April 7th. It confused me! Lol
Ha! I feel the same way about my cruise on the Royal on April 16th. Which would be correct?? [emoji848]
Doesn’t seem to affect my cabin, though.

Since Princess started offering Anytime Dining, that is what we have always chosen. We too prefer to dine 7:30 - 8:00 and in all our years of cruising have only had to wait longer than 5 minutes once. We were given one of those light-up hockey pucks, went to Crooners for a cocktail, and were flashing within about 20 minutes.
It is usually faster to be seated if you are willing to share a table. Not all ships have a lot of two-tops.

I have a separate wardrobe that I only wear when on cruises. Mostly items that don’t get used in my daily life such as evening wear or fancy sandals. Have used this wardrobe for several years and numerous cruises now.

Not for a 3 night package, but I used them last year for a transfer from Southampton to our hotel in London with stops in Stonehenge & Salisbury on the way, and they were fantastic!
