  1. Take along a set of noise cancelling headphones. Been on Beyond but lucked out as we had a quiet room. But others we met lost sleep.
  2. Do you have to tip on cruises leaving from Southampton?
  3. On the first day when you board, they were offering guided tours of the facilities of the spa. The sequence of using the rooms of the Thermal Suite was explained. It was well worth the time to gain a better understanding of all of the rooms.
  4. Are you referring to Specialty Restaurants? Then the answer is 'YES' if you are using Celebrity OBC or if you are paying by credit card. As for the MDRs, it is Anytime Dining. Just show up to whatever dining room when you want to.
  5. When we sailed in Alaska, there was a posted dress code in the daily. It said. 'Long sleeved dress shirts'. I only brought one long sleeved shirt. I was worried when I wore a short sleeved shirt- but not a problem. I felt relieved when upon entering the dining room, it looked like a lumberjack convention going on. No utility belts though. No offense intended to all you lumberjacks or those aspiring to be lumberjacks.......
  6. Be advised that there are NO Specialty Dining benefits for Elites. However, there is 15% discount for Elite PLUS members. That is a different tier. You may have been given some incorrect info.
  7. Also, many zeniths are hooked on Celebrity and no need to get feedback from them. Many are guaranteed bookings. But I think it is more related to numbers.
  8. Most are told to wear long pants if they arrive to eat dinner in Blu. You can wear a baseball cap and sad looking jeans and get seated. Go figure....
  9. You just show up at the dining room of your choice when you want to eat. If you find a particular server you really like, you can ask to be seated in that area on other evenings. No need for reservations.
  10. Just got off the Ascent. It is Anytime Dining. Just show up to any dining room and they will seat you. Ignore what that says.
  11. The last departure for the bus was at 8:30 am. However, we had to wait nearly an hour for a bus to return to pick us up. Mess. I suggest using Luggage Valet and taking a taxi or Uber over to the airport when they throw you off the ship. Then you will be able to go through airport security as you will not have any luggage to check. A couple of weeks ago, you could not check in with luggage until 4 hours before your flight.
  12. On the Beyond, there is Anytime Dining in the 4 MDRs. I had booked but when I got there was told there were no reservations. At least, that was on our cruise. Yes, your experience is normal.
  13. I like the melted butter better than what is served. Give me a cold water lobster with the butter, steamers, clam chowder, fish, fresh corn and watermelon and I am real happy.
  14. You do NOT have to use the free minutes first. You choose which minutes to use when you log on. Another option is to wait until your 90 minutes have been used and then purchase a package mid-cruise using your discount on the pro-rated cost. Also, I have been able to combine sales and the Elite discount. But you have to call in or you can take care of it onboard with the IT Staff.
  15. 30% off. But you have to realize that there had been a pretty sizeable increase months ago. Luckily, I had booked ours before the increase. . I even saw the times and there were times that we typically book such as 6 pm.
  16. We just came off the Ascent and there were really nice discounts available on the ship. Staff was situated at the entrances of the OceanView daily. It seems that with the price increase, people may be re-thinking the costs involved. That is my thought. And there were very good times and days available as well. Restaurants with the biggest discounts were LeVoyage, Petit Chef and Fine Cut.
  17. That was the same day as the explosion. We were on the ship in Cozumel that day and the ferry to the mainland was cancelled. Glad we were not on the ferry.
  18. The best ships for viewing are the S-Class ships that have a Sky Lounge up front. That is the best viewing location. Otherwise, head up to the highest decks and move from side to side while listening to the naturalist on the ship. The best scenery will be in the fjords.
  19. No, there are no additional charges. The plates are not small. We each had our own appetizers and entrees. We also shared another appetizer and entree at no additional charges. In fact, we were encouraged to do so.
  20. We shared Truffled Risotto which is an appetizer. Also we each had crab cakes which were tops.
  21. I had booked Eden about 6 months ago for our cruise on Ascent. The price was $55 per person for the regular meal. Then there was a price increase to $85. Quite an increase! Then you had a 20% gratuity when checking out. The crab cake is outstanding as is the Nova Scotia casserole.
  22. You list the Mast Grill and won't head to the buffet??? Cannot figure that one out. We had two of our best dinners at the OceanView. First there are few people and they served fresh local seafood on two nights. Fish was made to order.
  23. Blu restaurant is definitely more crowded on the Reflection. Reflection in general felt more crowded to me as well. However, the Lawn Club Grill is a nice perk on this ship. Eclipse has the full Sky Lounge. The glass blowing does nothing for me. Money maker for the company. I would cruise both again as been on each over 3 times.
  24. On the Ascent, we heard this loud banging noise one night. I figured it out myself. It was a chair on the Infinite Veranda rubbing against the wall. When the ship moved, it made the noise. Easy fix for me. However, on the Beyond, some people said the sound was coming from the walls and ceilings.
