  1. The Captain announced that fresh seafood would be picked up at an upcoming port. Besides the fish, there were King Crab Legs. There was a seafood night in the Oceanview Cafe where you could order grilled fish to order. August trip.
  2. We saw that sauce being served in Blu for the tails and then requested melted butter on the side. On the Solstice in Alaska, they brought aboard fresh seafood in Juneau. If I recall, salmon, halibut and Pacific cod.
  3. Most items served with hot butter taste very good. As a result of this board, I had North Atlantic lobster for dinner. Steamed lobster with melted butter. Delicious....
  4. Years ago, the sparkling wine was on ice when you entered your room on day 1. However, lately, we have had to ask for it. We have requested a bottle of white wine and we have received one on each cruise.
  5. It depends on the particular cruise. There were no discounts on the first night on Apex but we were able to get a discount on the Beyond. Visit the Planner. Be aware that a gratuity ( around 18%) will be added to the cost of the meal when checking out.
  6. Just like the OP, we order from the dollar menu. 😀. You can also order from the Children's Menu to keep the cost under $35.
  7. If you have OBC to use, then try one of them. I expect you will be disappointed if you spend more than $35 per couple in addition to your cruise fare and not get the meal of your lifetime.
  8. We look forward to the Elite Tea and attend this event. A lot of tea choices and excellent food selection.
  9. As mentioned, there is a wide variety of clothing worn during those nights. Most wear something like "country club casual" but there will be a couple of tuxes and a couple looking like they are heading to a gym workout. Wear something you are comfortable. We used to get really dressed up but we have toned it down. Also, less to pack.
  10. We have had Maine lobster tails on the Solstice in Alaska out of Seattle. That was surprising. Don't expect to get Maine lobster in the Caribbean, even in the uncharge Specialty Restaurants. If you do order lobster, we ask for melted butter instead of the white cream sauce.
  11. We paid $25 per person for a total of $50.
  12. We always cruise in Blu and we do not get the same waiter every night. A lot may depend on the maitre'.
  13. This has been our experience. There is one extra table in the rows by the windows. The servers reach over as there is no room. It is very crowded --but conducive if you wish to converse with those on either side of you. We have found Blu to be busier than Aqua on other S-class ships.
  14. The sauce is bland but makes a good snack if you are hungry. Stay with the salad bar.
  15. There are 2 menus at Murano. That is their way of differentiating them. The $60 menu is the traditional menu. Good choice and enjoy.
  16. I am surprised that people do not read the bill when it is presented. Our bills clearly have stated that an 18% gratuity has been included. Then we add an additional tip based on service that evening. At times, when we prepay, we do not even receive a bill as the server will say "You are all set. Thank you for coming".
  17. I use them when one Celebrity captain is making announcements.
  18. To me, they are fine overall. I don't bring mine from home. . If you are staying in a Suite, then there will be an upgrade in toiletries.
