  1. Also from summer 2017 all Discovery cruises will have the drinks package included 'free' whenever you book the cruise. Hopefully they will not dumb down the current good choice available aboard. Apparently free drinks are part of the package on Mein Schiffs and Aida so it is part of 'Tuiising' Thomson ;)

  3. Anyone else on this cruise. Seriously thinking about it but find the itinerary on Thomson website differs from that on Cruise Deals website for the same cruise. Thomson's say Day 10 transit Suez Canal, Day 11 at Sea, Days 12 & 13 in Jordan. Cruise Deals says Day 9 transit Suez Canal, Day 10 Port Sokhna, Day 11 & 12 Hurghada, Day 13 Sharm El Sheikh.

They cant both be right, can they? I rang Cruise Deals and they were clueless. Out of curiosity, I rang Thomas Cook to see what they had to offer for this cruise and not surprisingly got the same office as Cruise Deals so I didnt even bother asking the question. And I was going to book it today too.

  4. Cozumel is a totally tourist island with loads of taxis waiting at the port. Your best bet would be to research tourist information before you go then just jump in a taxi.

Costa Maya is like going to an hotel for the day with a swimming pool, some local stalls and the usual array of american jewellery shops. Try to do an excursion. Ours was cancelled and we couldn't even go for a walk as the jungle comes right up to the gate.

Roatan is lovely. We walked about the village, it isn't very big, then took a taxi. We wanted to see some gardens and a butterfly farm. However the rain turned torrential so we ended up just doing a tour of the island.

we did the west island tour in roatanwith the butterfly farm it was a brilliant trip saw no snakes or lizards our guide was brilliant stopped at a rum shop as well and there is a tourist area called mahogany bay in the port too with its own beach area

  5. Couldn't agree more we really miss them on the Dream Soundroom band are good and Lala (female singer) is very good but the band let down by the lead guitarist who plays in a jazz style not suitable for pop songs In fact Noel the guitarist in Heart and Soul is a better guitarist in my opinion. Would also like to mention Leo - superb guitarist in Top Men :):)

Miss the first version of soundroom with freddie on vocals and mitch keyboard and vocals from the spirit

  6. The repositioning cruise of Celebration from Newcastle to Malaga in September 2017 may be 1 week earlier than first advertised according to my TA. Also, it won't be going on sale until September 2016 now.

not heard anything about the week earlier but a pain to wait so long to book

  7. We were told the repo cruise which is in the brochure for 21st may has been brought forward to the 7th sailing from Malaga to Newcastle. Goes on sale 21 July but only in shops not online. Extra Baltic discovery cruise added 21st may from Newcastle also not online. Discovery 2 to go on sale 21 July also. The celebration repo cruise does 6 countries including Germany, holland and Belgium.

the repos arnt on sale till maybe sept the celebraion online is still doing 2 cruises from malaga on the 7th and 14th of may

We are waiting to book the newcastle to malaga cruise for next sept

  8. Thomson have added an extra Baltic cruise from Newcastle on 21st may 17 and moved the repo cruise from Malaga to 7th may. Think June is still as advertised.

spirit of iberia 7th of may continental coasts 14th of may stillon say on website

  9. glad service seems to be sorted got two weeks on the dream on Friday and would like to know more about premium all inclusive how much extra is it per week and is it worth it love corona and is it on the premium package already all inclusive and already budgeted for a few bottle anyway:D

also who is the cruise director ,resident band and guest comedian on board from the 1st july thanks in advance for any replys:)

£10 per person per day for premium all party have to upgrade only available first 2 days, cd is gavin carroll, acd is tayler mcculloch and the bands are sound room and also tom and maris 2 intense can't help with comedian

  10. You are allowed 2 drinks per card , majesty ,29 April 2016 . Also try the first week but pay before you go then during that week you can decide if you want it the next week and add it to your booking by calling Thomson ,as it's a stand alone week .

when on the dream and spirit it was one per card until they get to know you to make sure you are not getting drinks for anyone who hasn't go the ai

  11. We have a hand held clothes steamer that we take on cruises. It's not an iron with a flat hot plate. Looks more like a hairdryer that you run up and down your clothes and it pushes out steam to get rid of the creases. We put it in our suitcase and have never once been called back to the Naughty Room

i don't think they would be allowed too

  12. Does anybody know who is the new cruise director and the assistant for the Discovery and what happened to Ross Roberts and Tony Mac (Island Escape)?

the cd is paul fisher, acd is christina wellard

tony mack worked for thomson on the spirit in 2014 for a few months (he moved to peel) but moved to p&o austrailia, ross roberts doesn't work for the agency who supplies ents staff to the thomson ships, he worked for the agency who supplied to island cruises run by first choice thomsons sister company so you won't see either on a thomson ship

  13. It looks like the Spirit and the Majesty are on their way out.

We liked the Majesty, and are currently considering the Spirit - although if they are dumping it the maintenance may not be as much as usual maybe

The spirit is so much better than the majesty, they will still maintain them as they will go back to celylestial cruise to be used in the greek market
