While Carnival may have made mask wearing optional (although highly recommended) please be respectful towards shore side staff and ship crew members who will still be masked up.

😷😷😷 Yes.  And, please be respectful to any person who chooses to wear masks on the ship, off the ship, walking past in the parking garage etc…

Think first, “I really don’t know the reason(s) why this person has a mask on.”  AND it really isn’t anybody’s business but their own.  Keep your own side of the street clean.

Why have social manners seem to have disappeared in America?  I’m 64, and we taught our son life lessons by word and action on how to treat people.

As many of you know our son worked on Carnival ships before & shortly after Covid. He left the ship life. Me & his Dad were very sad to hear how some Carnival guests spoke about “the mask” rule. Just downright mean words directed at him. ???? 😧

Per the LA County Public Health Department, masks continue to be required at all "transportation hubs" in Los Angeles County (which would include the Long Beach cruise terminal, as "seaports or other indoor port terminals" are specifically included in the order).

Apparently I'm in a very small minority here, but I applaud this decision and wish other ports were the same.

As an L.A. County resident, it been around 2 years we’ve been wearing masks. Or at least I have. 😷 I just don’t feel as safe without one in groups of people. Yes, I’m in the minority too!

I have a pre-existing condition that raises the risk of long term effects of Covid. Per my GP at Kaiser.  I have serious concerns if the country’s No Mask Needed was Political or Medical.

We didn’t get any platinum benefits on our turning platinum cruise

We asked. The answer was nxt cruise

I think we turned platinum after 5 days on this April 2022, 15-day cruise

Wow!  I turned Platinum on the 5th Day (Wednesday) of my 7 day (Saturday-Saturday) March 2022 Panorama cruise. My luggage tags stated I was Platinium as well. Free Laundry too —2 bags.  And the pin, strawberries, whatever else.

I don’t get why they denied you the upgraded status??  I’m sorry some uninformed person refused your legit claim.

Did you try using the auto hand washing stations in the lido after touching all the buffet utensils? We want one for our home. The touchless wash and rinse system feels like a hand spa.

I’m not a fan of any buffet, but I’d walk by and use this great invention on my way to Guys Burgers. 🍔🍟🙂

Where did you buy the vanilla at Cozumel?

From our experience vanilla is very popular in Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan etc.  We have seen vanilla offered in just about any tourist shop selling the usual pottery, jewelry, trinkets etc etc.

In just the last day or two I caught a segment of a TV news interview with Dr. Fauci where he was asked about mask mandates in the future (referencing the recent bump in cases). He said that it was very unlikely as "Americans are just tired..." of the whole process (basically). I was a little surprised to hear him all but rule out future mandates - but I agree. As infectious as this thing has become, most of the masks which people wear are all but useless anyway. Unless you're wearing a properly fitted k/n-95, you might as well try to hold your hand over your mouth (I'm exaggerating a bit here!).

      Hi Tom,

Have to say here in my little area of the world, masks are still quite “popular”. It’s been the norm for 2 years. But, there are a growing number of people without masks in the public too.

What I’m getting from Fauci, Wen is to keep those ‘recommended masks’ handy. I’m sure FL has the same PSA’s we see here on what masks are best.

As this Pandemic had continued and with more info released we here (my house) have switched from homemade cloth,  store bought cloth,  dentist-like thin paper to N95 masks.

When our son left Carnival (Panorama) in early December, his official Carnival mask was a cloth one with Carnivals Logo.

When I was just on the Panorama a couple weeks ago, the masks were NOT cloth logo, they were the recommended ones that fit SNUG all around the face.

  7. Just popped to the end of the thread .  I do remember reading that Dr Fauci & Dr Wen said that if needed again this Fall/Winter “we” would be asked to wear them again.

Being from a suburb in Los Angeles County, we were just very recently given the ok to take off masks inside.  Personally, I have no issue with wearing masks, and do.

After consulting with my doctor, it’s better for my health due to increased risk of long term Covid (if I were to get sick).  That’s my choice.

I wore them inside everywhere on my Panorama cruise last month. Yes, I was in the minority. Thankfully, no other guests said anything negative to me. Crazy times we live in and I honestly didn’t know if someone was going to get Political with me.

I can’t wait to get onboard! It’s been a long, tough few years for us and I want to show them a great time. Off topic, but since you were aboard so recently, did you happen to check out the piano bar? I’m really hoping for some fun evenings there.

I really wish we could have gotten a Havana room but we’ll have to wait until the 8 yo turns 12. They really look fantastic!

      Hi,

Sorry, we never did make it to the Piano Bar.  I got the Havana Cabin as an Upsell Call from a Carnival Rep. We paid $500 more for the Havana than our original Deck 7 Balcony.
Then because I loved our Balcony, I only went to the Havana Pool once. It was pretty deserted, as expected.

I love the Panorama and am happy it’s here so close to home. Now, if we could get 7 day Pacific Coastal Cruises on her too … 😁😁😁.  I’m pretty burnt out on the 3 Mexican Rivera Ports …

  9. I boarded on the Panorama March 26th, made Platinium that cruise too, super excited …yippie !!!

However, even though my time said 10:3-11:00am (chose early), it was easily past 11:30am when I walked through those doors and up those ramps to the ship.

NOTE:  Priority” boards before A01, A02 etc etc… I was A01 and didn’t know that bit of info, until a couple ah-hum “nicely”told me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So, I foolishly blocked those “Priority” cruisers from standing with the mass of people …  all of whom were impatiently waiting for those magic doors to openz!

Future cruising —- I will be still sitting in my seat (in the waiting area) till my number is announced on all future cruises. Let the people jostling begin with me watching on the sidelines. 🤣

BTW, When we cruised on the Panorama in the Fall of 2021, we also were late getting off the ship. Again, over an hour wait to be called to debark. We always do the self-debark too.

And that is my experience with 2 recent Panorama cruises. Oh, on the March 26th cruise, the the luggage arrived about 2:30.  I had a Corner Aft Wrap Havana Balcony, Deck 7, if that matters.

All this won’t matter one little bit once you are onboard ❣️
    😁😁😁

Ha!  Nassau isn't a terrible port.  We've found lots of things to enjoy for a few hours when we go there, all within walking distance.  I mean it's not like we get all excited having been there several times, but stopping there and stretching your legs ashore is all good.

I’ll trade you Nassau for Ensenada any day! 🤣🤣

But you get a boarding zone that I assume is based on your arrival time and status. I was zone A1 on Glory so I was in the first group. The worst I’ve been since the restart was A6 on one of the first Mardi Gras cruises which had me boarding within the first 15 minutes.

When we boarded the Panorama on Saturday, the “ Priority” folks AND the Suites Guests we’re called 1st to board.  Then A01 followed by A02 ( which was our Group). So, I don’t know who goes after A02 boarded.

I picked 10:30 - 11:00am as our check in time. But …NOBODY boarded the Panorama until after11:30am.  Our luggage arrived outside our door a bit after 3:15pm.

I just stayed in 8467 on the Panorama last month. It’s a great room, you’ll love it. Take good care of her!

The wardrobe area has 3 doors. Behind door 1 is a bar with hangers. Behind door 2 is another bar with hangers, but there is an optional shelf you can lay down half way to lay things on, which then creates two levels for hanging clothes. Behind door 3 are some shelves and drawers.

I would in no way call this a walk in closet but I found it did provide more than ample space for a week.

      Hi,

Thank you for replying.  We boarded today.

    I ❤️❤️ the Balcony.

I’m partial to the set up in a ‘regular’ Deck 7 Balcony.
In those cabins, there are 3 distinct closets, 2 for hanging clothing. And then the closet that has the safe and shelves.  My husband would take 1 closet and me the other.  Plus, we have the drawers and long desk area. Plenty of room for everything plus souvenirs.

THIS cabin set up (as I’m looking right it) has ONLY 1 closet (with 2 doors) It’s a free standing closet … meaning it is not built into the room. There is ONLY one area for hanging clothes. Just my clothes take up the whole small space.

I asked our Cabin Attendant where the other closets were — the other 2??  There are no other closets was his reply., “only the one”. Our Cabin Attendants name is Arya.

So, you have the hanging clothes side. And on the other side of the divider (with 2nd door) —  is the area with the 3 drawers and shelves.

There is no way you’re taking out that shelf to hang up a bar. It’s just part of the unit.  So, not sure what you are referring to …

Below is a cabinet case that surrounds the safe.  Below that are the 3 drawers.

We have the beds set up as Twins. Odd placement. One bed is flush on the side of wall under the windows . The other bed is facing the cabin door/wall. Bathroom door very close to the head of the bed & door to Balcony.

A little space with a tiny oval coffe table, a giant painting right above it, and a giant flat screen TV next to that painting. I’d say 2 - 3 feet from the side & the end of each twin bed.

The Vanity area? 🤣 At the end of the bed next to the window. A tiny desk, with shallow drawer that holds the hairdryer. This is stuck in this odd dark corner, in the dark. The fridge is here also.   The cabin ends there, that’s the view as you lay in one bed.

For anyone considering this ‘deluxe’ experience ….. I would suggest going to YouTube to view the set up of this cabin. Compare it to the set up of the regular Balcony.

Look for Cabin 8467 on the Panorama …  It IS accurate. 😒 There just is simply not enough closet or storage space.  The triangle shape of the room is tiny ( the space)  just the ascetics are very unappealing.

Our son, Mark who worked onboard previously, laughs that this cabin said its tiny as his shared Crew Quarters Cabin.

Ya probably guessed that we do NOT love this Cabin, and will not be booking it ever again!! 😳

And I paid $500 more from a Carnival Rep’s UPSELL phone call this month.

This cabin IS a Havana Cabin, with full access to the Havana Pool. So, that and the Balcony are the positive points. 🙂

  14. Hi,

We boarded the Panorama 3 hours ago .

       To check In:

The Rep asked if I had VeriFLY on my phone. Nope. But, here are my documents … in my hand ready to show her. No fuss.  😄

       My documents were:

       *Current Passport

*Printed Negative Covid Test from CVS

       *Printed Boarding Pass

Easy Peasy … both of us were ready and were done with this process in a few moments. As expected.

     Oh ….  I just made Platinum🤪!!

So, excited to be directed to the queue where not one person was waiting. WOWIE!! The regular line was 3 lines … you know like a Disney Loop Line.

Now, we ALL had to wait till about Noon for the doors to board were opened.

There is NO SIGNAGE to tell guests where to wait in this space.

I’m thinking they could have PLACARDS on the walls. Or something like Southwest Air does. Otherwise it was just a flusterf**k of people crowding around waiting for those magical doors to open. All mixed up … Priority, A01, A02 etc. People shoving past arch other … oh the ‘normal’ times we all missed. 🤨

There ya go … at least that’s our experience today.

  15. Hi,

I was looking on You Tube at our cabin on the Panorama.  From the 2 videos I watched it appears there is one total closet. One half is for hanging clothes. The other side has 3 shelves and perhaps the safe inside a cupboard?? Then I read a description somewhere else … 3 closets … and “a walk-in closet”. I’m confused!

The video of that one closet is certainly not enough for 2 people.  I guess it makes no difference now, we cruise tomorrow. I should have looked for this after I agreed to the Upsell … 😕

      🛳🛳

      Bobbi

  16. We board the Panorama tomorrow. I’m old fashioned and I just printed all the documents we need.  Checking in at 10:30-11:00am and I FINALLY made Platinum 😁.  YIPPIE ❣️

It seems to me after reading online that VeriFLY is suggested but not a requirement to board.

Have a GREAT cruise! We want to hear allllll about it when you get home!

      Hi,

Thanks, we’re excited too!  I have everything packed, except morning toiletries. With carrying on the Red Bull I have 3 bags 🤣!

Our son, who until very recently, worked on the ships will be joining me.  We’re on the Panorama with the Upsell Havana Aft Wrap — wow! 2 excellent places to hang out.

I’m disappointed that my husband had to cancel this month, but a huge job came in. A great thing actually, just rotten timing. So, asked our son Mark … would you mind being a guest on the last ship you worked on?? He kinda feels odd, but I think he’ll adjust. 😄
