  1. Hi,

I called Royal yesterday regarding a possible drop $$ on a cruise we have booked.  I also inquired as to when I will be receiving the refund on another cruise that I had cancelled on December 1st.

After the usual wait on the phone, the Rep informed me that the “cancelled” cruise was never actually cancelled!!  The notes DO state that on December 1st I called to cancel though. 🙄🙄 ?????

By the end of the call he & ‘Manager’ cancelled the cruise “manually”.

    Hope so ….

  2. So, I called Royal first thing this morning.  Our Liberty 7 Day cruise in September was $300 lower (std balcony). And they added the $50 OBC. Since the cruise was paid off, we’ll get a refund.

I had the agent look up my solo B2B in May (3 day/4 day). No price drop on either. But, he reminded me I have $119 OBC on each cruise!

I also had him send me the invoices for all 3 cruises.

Thank you to the OP for posting here about the lower prices. And thanks to all who filled me about lower priced cruises, the “How-To”. 🙂🙂

Just so you know, since it's a North American booking (rules are different for Europe and Australia), you can still qualify for a price drop before Final Payment Date (even if you've already paid in full in advance of the due date for the final payment).

It doesn't count as "cancelling one cruise and rebooking under the new price" -- it's just repricing the existing reservation.

Thanks for this info Brillo 🙂.   Any chance you know how I can look up what my Cruise cost?  I just don’t see my cruise cost pdf.  Or any financial page. I put in my cruise reservation number, my name, the ship & date of sailing Option. No breakdown.

  4. So, I looked at my cruise under the Cancellation information. If I called “now” and cancelled, I would lose my deposit of $500.  Seeing that much go bye-bye, I didn’t bother to look up what the cruise would cost today.

Ugh-oh …. I just noticed … the posts here are all about the Harmony!  We’re on the Liberty …. Oops 🤣🤣

  5.  We’re booked for September ‘22.  Paid in full for a Balcony.  Is there any criteria for receiving a discount from Royal?  We are booked on a non-refundable cruise.

Before even looking - to see if our cruise price went down - I wanted to check if our cruise qualified.

    Thank You,
    🛳🛳

  6. Yesterday I bought 2 Cooking Classes onboard.  Used a gift card.  My hubby is golfing in Mazatlan. So I signed up & added another class for another day. Switching the itinerary means I need to call & cancel. More wait time on the phone … sigh …  😒

The class offered for Mazatlan is now cupcakes 🧁!
🤣🤣  no thanks —  have made ‘a jillion +’  in my lifetime.

  7.  My hubby took the PRC test at our local CVS on Friday. Today, (Monday) he received the results … took 3 days. While Carnival requires 2 day test time maximum.   Had we had a cruise booked, we would have missed it obviously. I cannot find Binax anywhere online. Wednesday I’ll try to secure the tests Biden is promising.  ThoughI need to read up on it, not sure how or what the individual needs “to do”. 🤷🏻‍♀️

IF I book exactly 13 days out till CVS opens another day up for the Antigen (PRC tests) my area CVS’s do have test times available. Just have to book that first day they open, or all the time slots or gone.

Obviously, the key is in planning ahead.  We go on the Panorama in late March. So, I’ve marked my calendar with the exact day to go online to book that Antigen test.

  8. In September ‘21 (Panorama) I had the fried shrimp.  I was getting full and still had many shrimp left. So, as I’ve been known to do, I took the breading off the shrimp. It looked like they had soaked the pieces in Clorox! Unnaturally WHITE.  And of course tasteless — close your eyes  & guess what you’re eating kinda thing here —(without the breading).

I get they “bleach” the vein — Or whatever the process is called. The vein thing was still attached on each white shrimp. I know this isn’t close to the worst thing that Carnival could do to a meal. But, I decided then that I won’t order it again.

  9. Hi,

My hubby & I no longer drink, we are recovering alcoholics. 15 & 10 years.  “Friends of Bill” meetings, heard of them?  I’m assuming Royal offers the space and time slot of 1 hour per day for folks to meet up. I know Carnival does.

Drink wise.  I like Red Bull’s on vacation. So, I bring a 12 pack onboard.  My drink of choice is plain sparkling water …just like before … when I drank wine.  I’m Diamond and so I’ll get the vouchers.

Have you looked into the Beverage Package that’s in between the alcohol & soda?

I wanted to just end with Congratulations to your hubby, a sober life is one you will enjoy & remember. No regrets over things you don’t remember saying or doing. With cruising …. Damn I had no idea how much there is “to do” besides sitting at a bar and drinking all day. That is exactly what we did.

P.S.  IF they offer club soda or my ‘bubbly water’ for free, I’d be interested in knowing too.

I'm just impressed you got your FCC in about 6 weeks. Some of mine took 4 months.

As others have said, your FCC is only for the base cruise fare, all taxes, fees, etc are credited back to original payment method.

I still have our Florida 7 day I cancelled a few months ago, no FCC yet ….maybe since they did the B2B they’ll get to the other one soon! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

  11.   My self cancelled cruise is currently happening. I cancelled December 1st.

Today Royal sent a “Cruise With Confidence FCC”.

Total I paid in $$ in taxes, port fees, and gratuities .  4 Day Navigator
      $620.75

    Royal FCC to me —-

    $446

I also used 2 -$100 FCC on this cruise. In addition to the $620.75 = 802.75

Total I paid $$ including the same things.  3 Day Navigator .

    $501.37

I didn’t have any FCC to use towards payment on this 3 day.

    Royal FCC to me —

    $315

Please, Experienced folks here on the Board. Can you help me figure this out?

    Thank You,

    🛳🛳

You have got to be the most "negative" person on C.C.  You just love to TROLL everyone don't you.

My 2 cents Georgiegirl.  JIMBO gets ONE of his sources from a recently working member on Carnival ships. That being our son. He got off the Panorama on December12th.

YES, the Panorama is not an RCCL Ship. The ship’s crew members are getting sick, kinda a no brainer.

In our son’s case … the week our son left, another Fun Squad member left and a Fun Squad member was quarantined off the ship at a local hotel (Crew quarantine cabins full).

I believe JIMBO made an educated guess.  I certainly don’t think of him as a Troll either.

No one wants to stop cruising. I just cancelled my B2B on the Navigator for theJanuary 10th cruise. And we have a March Panorama booked & paid.  Just taking this one day at a time.

Try to help me make sense of this- you said you cancelled but the rep wanted to penalize you- for what? What difference did it make cancelling bother cruises that are both obviously within 30 days?

Could you have gotten a cash refund which is what the link indicates?

Did you get 125% FFC instead then?

      Hi,

I called to switch cruise from January to May. Same ship, a B2B cruise n both.
The Rep told me if I just switched the date to May I would penalized.  Because the cruise was only 13 days away.

He said there would be NO penalty if he “cancelled” the January 10th B2B instead.

So,I did as he suggested and had him cancel.  He didn’t offer a cash refund as an option. Just the FCC, so I wouldn’t get that penalty.

I did not get the RCCL email till AFTER I had called and cancelled today.

No, the numbers ($$)  he gave me were exactly what I paid for each segment of the B2B. And, as I said I will now be waiting at least 30 days for that FCC.

The email also says you can reschedule your cruise. I assume the new date would be repriced and you would pay the difference. Looking to change my January 8 date to March 5th, price is similar for my cabin.

      Hi,

I posted my experience trying to switch to just another cruise date, as you were writing. Hope it helps, and hope you can just switch it over. The rep I got on the phone was not allowing it.

  15. So, earlier today I ended up cancelling  my Solo Navigator B2B that was starting January 10th.

I wanted to just switch the cruise date to May, doing another Navigator B2B.

But, IF I did that I would receive a penalty for canceling so soon to cruising!

The rep said if I cancelled both cruises, I wouldn’t be penalized, and would receive the full FCC.

So, I now will have to wait 30 days to receive that FCC notification in my email. THEN I can re-book. Well, it will be a new booking.

It just seemed easier to me to just switch the dates, along with my onboard purchases to a cruise couple months later.

(YES, I received the same email today that the OP shared here.)

On December 1st I cancelled a cruise that wasn’t till September ‘22. I am now at almost the end of day 28 into that 30 day waiting period to receive my FCC email.

The rep today did inform me that another Company is handling RCCL’s FCC accounts. And that Royal didn’t have access to the status of these FCC accounts. No way for the customer to know when that FCC will be given? Seems odd to me … 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Anybody else hear something different?

    Thanks,

    🛳🛳

Kind of interesting, since I thought Carnival was freezing adding employees to ships, but even if not, new crew would also have to quarantine, no?

Our son spoke with a fellow crew member, who was quarantined at a hotel, no empty crew quarantine cabins available. This was over Christmas Weekend.

He did not know how many cabins total are set aside for crew. So, perhaps it’s not as bad as it sounds.  🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, new crew members are required to quarantine. He did his onboard. But, that was before Omicron.

Great post Markmom18, I just got off the Panorama this Friday 24 Dec and have sailed on Panorama on 18 Sept & 13 Nov, my roll calls all reflect those trips with daily posts and pictures.

The passenger numbers on my 3 Panorama cruises were

    18 Sept 2300 pax

    13 Nov 2954 pax

    18 Dec 4000 pax

Carnival Panorama maintained outstanding Covid procedure’s at all times, Everyone seemed to comply with the mask rules and I didn’t see anyone sick nor did I get sick on any of those 3 cruises.

i commend the Panorama staff for always reminding everyone whether at shows or indoors to always keep your mask on. They explained this all the times in their shows as to why it was needed to continue to cruise and have fun.

I always felt safe while onboard Panorama and this time around due to this new Omiron I wore a N95 mask and my black cloth mask over it. I don’t have any issues with masks, I’m so used to it already. Carnival don’t mess around, they keep this Covid issue a serious matter.

    Fred

      Thanks Fred,

My husband and I were on the Panorama in September too.  Passenger numbers were what you wrote. I loved the low numbers. Not once did we witness any cruiser being a nasty person re: masks. And the Crew was as always just wonderful!  Even more friendly because there were so few of us cruisers.

I went on the Miracle by myself for the Halloween B2B … basically could write the same things about my experiences with Crew & Guests & low passenger rates (on a smaller ship no less ).

We go back on the Panorama at the end of March. Of course, we booked so we could cruise with our son. 😕  But, after talking we decided we’ll still go ahead with the cruise.

Thank you for sharing this.  I spoke to many crew members on an rccl cruise last week and shared pretty much those exact sentiments  that the crew had shared with me.  While many understood, too many didn't seem to care.  The misinformation and politics aside, the "I don't have to follow rules I don't like" or that the rules simply don't apply to them has become far too normal and accepted.  Until the cruise lines start to enforce these rules with consequences, I'm afraid we will all have to suffer the consequences of their childish behavior.

Our son told us exactly what some folks told him. RUDE and Obscenity filled sentences … oh, trying to be polite here on the Forum.  No, not just a couple times.

Being the Mask Police and being verbally attacked was not what brought him to want to become a member of the Fun Squad.

It seems to be everywhere in our daily life. I’ve witnessed really bad behavior, aggressive behavior in public places.

I know I’m not alone. I CHOOSE to continue to be  kind. 🌌💙📘
