  1. Poor old Frodo found it all a bit fraught at times. We saw it at the cinema on release.....3 hours sitting on a hard seat without blinking.... The film finished......oh ! I thought it went on for a long lime.
  2. The Santa tracker Web site doesn't go live for a few days. Norad ?.🧑‍🎄🎅
  3. Baseball caps worn backwards by middle aged blokes.....Sad. did you see that emerdale actor a couple of weeks ago on Sunday brunch ?. .....look at me, I'm still a yooff...man.🤣
  4. Perhaps the said ' idiot ' sitting in the Atruim had just got back from an excursion and was wearing casual apparel, drinking his fizz, before returning to his suite. There the butler could dress him to the appropriate code. As you point out shorts can be appropriate in the Caribbean .
  5. The give out vouchers, but if you try and use one if you are improperly dressed you will be put on report .
  6. And a slob in shorts sitting in the Atrium quaffing the free fizz.
  7. It's a funny old world. We went to Herne Hill on Saturday morning to a roller skating rink. When I got a bit older I sometimes went to the Ram Jam with my West Indian school friends....Gino.. Gino.🤣. I lived in Balham
  8. I had one of those Russian Radios. £6 in 1966 was about a weeks wages.
  9. We only booked yesterday, so couldn't get into B32. Maybe we will try when we get there, but the pub menu looks quite good. Thorsby is good, but we haven't tried Nidd yet.
  10. We have booked a couple of nights at Heythorpe Park. They have 3 restaurants. Although we booked late, we manages to get into 2 of them. Having a bit of variety suits us. Some of the others used to have a selection of restaurants. Cricket, Holm Lacey, Thorsby Hall. Perhaps they will loosen the purse strings on their expenditure now things are looking up a bit for them.
  11. 14 nights. I said to DW that's 14 pairs of socks to pack. Take a couple of spares. Sorry dear, why would I need spare socks....just do as your told....yes dear.
  12. So posh, or trough. If we want to skip formal on P&O there are several nice alternatives. Glasshouse, beach house etc. You are not banished to the buffet.
  13. After replying to your request about Warner, I booked another one at Heythorpe Park. We haven't been to that one. ...Look dear Maxine Mazumder (?). Is on, we saw her do Adele on Britannia. On Christmas morning DW cooks a bacon sandwich for our decorator, gardener, handyman/chauffeur. This year they are taking her to lunch at Miller & Carter.🤣
  14. Do you remember Headquarters and General in Brixton. I purchased an outboard motor there.....How's that for random.
  15. We are out to dinner with the relatives Christmas eve...And a restaurant Christmas day. DW said Warners are doing some Twixmas b........I see a pattern forming here.🧑‍🎄
  16. I didn't realise children couldn't sit on Santa's knee..but thinking about it 🤔. Sad really.
  17. We are not snobs. Oh no we're not. We sometimes pop into Tesco ,but always take a few Waitrose bags. What if the neighbours saw us taking Tesco bags out if the car ?. Strangely enough you sometimes see some made up Celebrity Ladies in the car park, Like Louise Rednap. Lots of posh houses up the road in Weybridge. Tesco share a carpark with M&S. We have a few M&S food Hall bags as well.🤣
  18. Pre covid we visited the cruise show at Olympia. Got free tickets from a TA. We acquired a good number of bags, including P&O. Got bags on free visits. Spend £4,000 on a cruise...no bag. Perhaps we should boycott them until they give punters a bag. Celebrity give us bags. We have got a Hurtygrooten bag. Disgusting treatment of customers. What do we want ?...bags....when do we want them ?..🤣
  19. We buy the odd items in there, but we always take our Viking cruises bag so that folk don't know we purchased anything. Next time we go to a cruise show we will blag a Cunard bag. We take Celebrity bags on P&O, just for a laugh.
  20. I said to DW this morning " you don't see Telfers pies around nowadays." Washed down with a double diamond.
