  1. For many years we avoided cruising. Our friends told us all the things we were missing . Gin and IT pre dinner, eat with the captain if you are favoured. Talks on interesting stuff, like violin tuning, sequence dancing . We decided not for us. When Ocean Village and Island cruising started we gave it a go and enjoyed it. We don't miss the " good old days " at all, but quite like the bed turned down with a chocolate on the pillow.
  2. They should have tut,tut areas for those who wish to criticise every thing. Kids in the pool...whatever next.
  3. What if there is an emergency and we all need to go to muster stations, or lifeboats. They need to know who has mobility issues. You could say that all the safety videos and muster drills are a waste. The ship didn't sink, did it?.
  4. P&O aren't doing themselves any favours trying to come up with a one size fits all policy. But in an emergency don't they need to ensure that folk can take to the lifeboats in an emergency with minimal assistance. On our recent TUI trip from Spain, passengers who required assistance were asked to wait in their seats until all others had disembarked.
  5. I can't recall which ship, but in the queue for the tender folk were asked to step over a different coloured strip of carpet. I assumed it was the ' step test ' and designed to stop folk falling down the gap. TBH. I can't see the issue.
  6. Perhaps he is busy ensuring all the local shops are full of sweeties for Christmas. Being thoughtful as always.
  7. DW was deleting stuff from the TiVo box....do you want me to keep strictly?....🤮🤮
  8. I love all the crass comments. The bowlers holding ,the batsmans ....who was it?. 🤔
  9. He's going for the blue. For those watching in black and white, that's the ball between the pink and the brown.🤣
  10. I never do anyway. When I was a lad, come dancing was in black and white, but quite amusing. I hope all the folk who watch it enjoy every moment.
  11. I actually quite like the John Lewis advert. I preferred the Little Dragon one, but life moves on. Sometimes Christmas adds can spoil the illusion. I didn't know Rudulph had a battery powered nose. From here on in our telly will be full of Chrismas cooking programmes. Gok Wan and Jamie so far today. Just booked Christmas day lunch at the restaurant. 2.30 ,so we can miss the anious horribillious broadcast.
  12. Perhaps a senior officer banging on their door and telling them " you have 2 choices, grow up and apologise, or get of the ship at the next port ". That might work.
  13. My Grandad signed up in 1914. He was a bit underage, but got away with it. He fought at the Somme, came home, but bad memories stayed with him. Let's have our day to remember.
  14. Fish looks good, but you don't see avocado moose very often down sarf. Home you and Lady K had a good break. Very well deserved.
  15. You sometimes wonder. We have a rail depot with an aggregate terminal. The folk living in the new flats complain that the tipper truck tailgates bang when they go over the speed humps. If you removed the speed humps.....problem solved. Personally, I wouldn't have spent £500k on a flat in that location.
  16. Perhaps folk will now look up " hoolie".I thought it was a Gaelic folk dance.
  17. Didn't know we needed more speed humps, but I live in the pothole capital of the UK.🤣
  18. Carveries seem to be doing very well ashore.
  19. Perfectly understandable. Perhaps, due to the rough seas, the poor chap needed to hold them in place with his thumbs.
  20. Congratulations. Is that on the small size for a Yorkshire Lad?.🤣
  21. I though the same, but couldn't be sure. That would explain the lack of claws.
  22. I would guess that most of the lobster in ' mainstream ' restaurants is frozen.
