  1. Only problem I had with these post was that the op had to say her sister had downs syndrome. Why was that included.

Were we all supposed to go aghhhh, no fair not letting a person with downs syndrome squeeze on the boat?

If I had made the post, I would not have said my sister, who is perfectly normal in all regards. So why does this op want to label her sister when what her sisters condition is matters not one whit to any of us.

  2. Great someone answered the question instead of passing a bunch of judgment about how people choose to spend their time on the ship. It was the same kind of feedback on FB when the question was asked.

Relaxation is different for everyone. I never understood why people care what other people are doing. As long as it isn't bothering you, mind your own business. This Pokemon stuff is an old game that's come back to life, and people of all ages seem to be into it. I have no clue as its not my thing, but if that's what people - in this case KIDS - want to spend some of their time doing, sobeit. Yeah drinking, gambling, baking like a lobster in the sun, complaining as you shake your finger about every tiny thing you see that you dislike, etc. is a much better way to spend your time.

Come back and post again after you have encountered people playing the game.

  3. So let's see. You contacted customer service because a bottle of water was not in your cabin. That should have been handled while you were on the cruise. What did you expect customer service to do now?

And no fridge in your room. If the room does not come with a fridge, it doesn't come with one. If having a fridge was that important, that is something you should have looked into before the cruise was booked. But again, what did you want customer service to do?

  4. totally agree - we give $20 at first introduction, a little gesture really makes their day and I believe I get better service. I never have to fill my cooler with ice.

You can pass out all the twenties you want to. I have never given anything up front and I have never had an empty ice bucket.

I have had a couple of terrible room stewards, but even with them never had a problem with ice.

  5. For me, its 59.95 wasted so I wont be buying it. Being mobility impaired, I was already on the ship pretty fast. Also being mobility impaired got me off the ship in a timely manner too. It is not important to me to have my cabin ready when I board the ship and I just dont need a special line at Guest Services as Im hardly ever there and the couple times I did visit GS, there was no line. I know there are a few other benefits included with FTTF but none of them important enough to me to spend the money. Thats about six drinks or almost the whole fee for two at the steakhouse.

    No thank you to FTTF.

The beautiful thing about it is no body forces you to buy it, but I if you want it, it is available.

  6. I was very happy too see the sunshine leave new Orleans. I didn't hate it, but I was not overly happy with it.

Didn't care for the layout. Didn't like the way public areas had been made smaller. Felt c crowded a lot of the time. It felt like exactly what happened. More people were added by cutting the public areas Area.

  7. I don't think Carnival MDR's are even anything close to formal dining though, not with the dancing waiters and Gangnam style or Hey Baby disco thumping music. And Carnival apparently doesn't think so either really as reflected by downgrades to the menu.

Have you ever tried Princess? Now THAT'S a classy dining experience. But when I am on carnival you'll see me in khaki shorts, a tommy bahama shirt, and boat shoes.

When was the last time you were on princess? I think you will find things have changed.

The guy I'm dating wears business clothing everyday. I don't want to see people in bathing suits in the dining room however people in shorts no problem. I don't think the solution is go eat at the buffet. Maybe carnival could have one dining time that a dress code is enforced... Meaning no shorts, ladies in a skirt and men in a nicer shirt with dress slacks. For him and I my preference is nice shorts or a sundress for me and for him well he will be in business casual because that is who he is :)
  8. On the big ships we always have breakfast in our room. We ate in the MCR for breakfast the final day, only because we had no option otherwise on one cruise, on another we ate in the concierge lounge. On the small ships we order a pot of tea to our cabin to get started, but then go to have an al fresco breakfast.

The cruise where we ate lunch in our room every day, it was a short cruise and the weather was terrible. We had a suite with an expanded room service menu, so there was no reason to leave.

But people can't understand someone doing different than they do.

  9. Just go to DMV and say you need state ID

    I think it was around$12

You get it right then...no waiting for mail

    It is like a license

Why do people keep claiming this and stating it as fact. You have no idea how a person's state handles these things. Just because YOUR state does it that way in no way means they all do. So how about this, unless you know for certain what a state does, keep your wrong information too yourself.
