  1. Never heard of a club orange discount. I booked a casino rate and I was only allowed to book a guarantee cabin. I added club orange and I was able to pick my cabin in the category I booked. I booked a VH guarantee and was able to book a VB cabin. The rest of the club orange I could care less about. They were probably getting a casino rate like you said.
  2. What is s easier Taxi or Uber to get from San Diego Airport to Springhill Suites across the street from the pier.
  3. I am taking my first cruise since Covid in a couple of weeks from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale. Is luggage direct available from Fort Lauderdale?
  4. It depends on the length of the cruise. I paid $15.00 a day for 14:days. Upgraded from a VH Guarantee to a VB aft balcony on a Panama Canal cruise.
  5. Is it available til 4:30 from the lido or does it close at 2:00. I don’t eat pizza but my father likes his 4:00 pizza fix and we will be in Zuiderdam next month.
  6. Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer my question. I got a response back saying I was not eligible because of the discounted cruise I had booked. In the spring I got an e mail for a VIP Casino cruise. It was a list of about 15 cruises. They were not free cabins but discounted cruises. First time I was rejected on a Casino discounted cruise. By no way am I a high roller. Again Thanks for taking the time.
  7. I am very sorry if this has been addressed. I have been tied up with other things and cruise critic has not been my first priority.. Prior to the pandemic you were required to fax your carnival stock holdings report you could not email the report. I went out and faxed a report today for a cruise next month. By any chance are they allowing you to email the report to them. Thanks,
  8. I booked a non refundable cruise and purchased the Platinm insurance when I booked a cruise two months a head of time. A month before I needed to schedule a medical procedure. I had no problem getting the 90% deposit. I had booked it on line. I sent an email to Hal reservations including our booking number, names and Mariner number. Payment was credited back to my credit card in about a week and two days later the refunded a shore excursion and distilled water.
  9. Any online trader. Look for one that does not char for a trade.
  10. Looks like one I got in April that needed to be booked by April 30th. I booked one. Got a balcony for $1000.00 less. I had a FCD that was expiring. The coastal cruises on the Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam for six days from Vancouver are good prices on balconies. These are not casino offers good for everyone.
  11. Usually Seattle makes the decision about the compensation. I was on the Veendam in 2015 on a Panama Canal Cruise from Fort Lauderdale to San Diego. I can’t remember what happened but there was something wrong with engine that just jugged along. We were late to the first port and the only there 3 hours and missed 3 other stops. I believe besides the canal only 3 port stops were made out of 6. The sad part the majority of the passengers were first time Hal Cruisers and allot of older people who would probably never get a chance to see the canal again. For Compensation they offered 25% of the base cruise fare that was paid. Allot of passengers were upset about that. Six month after we got home we got a letter that they increase the compensation to 50% of the base fee. From the time we got on the ship the ship was not very operational. The crew were great. I think it might have amounted to dollars in this situation. I am sure allot of people wrote to Hal about the situation. This was a cruise that my Dad and I booked at the last minute at a really good price and 25 to 50 percent was not a big deal to us. To those that paid about 3,000.00 it was a big deal. This was pre Covid also.
  12. I have stayed at the Sheridan for business but would not stay there for vacation. You might be better off booking Springhill Suites or Residence Inn Across the street from the Pier. The only downside is that they do not have an airport shuttle and you would need to take a taxi or Uber.
  13. You should be able to find your Mariner pricing with your user name. The site is not exactly user friendly. Click on the room types and click continue and then there is another button that says continue with “price quote” under neath. Click on that and then you have to scroll down a bit to see what the prices are for your Mariner number.
  14. You need to log in with your Mariner account on the Holland America Site to see the price for your Mariner Number.
  15. I have not cruised since Covid. I have 3 $100.00 FCD’s on file that I purchased on board prior to Covid. I know allot of things have changed since Covid with cruising. Are they still accepting the $100.00 FCD for deposits on cruises 21 days or less. Thanks
