  1. They were there in the spring on Serenade and last year on Jewel.
  2. On Jewel now it's listed in Compass "Good to Know" as a "Quiet Zone". It's not. Passengers playing cards with very loud conversations. Radiance-class solariums used to have bird sounds. I have not heard it on Jewel.
  3. We are on Jewel now B2B2B. All three no access to Concierge Club. First they gave P's Safari then only Vortex. 500+ D's and D+, they expanded to Vortex. Wishing you the best.
  4. I'm not understanding why you have to qualify your answer. I guess it has more to do with 11 PM than you agreeing with no children at the bar. BTW I never said anything about 11PM , you did. Safe travels
  5. The adult looking for a bar seat. In many bars, the service is much better at the bar. It's my opinion. In my state children are not allowed to sit at a bar.
  6. It's usually a letter from the Diamond Lounge concierge that lets you know.
  7. On Radiance class ships there is a great view.
  8. Just to add a twist. I don't care about access, but I'm not happy when no Pinnacles have access. I like the idea of the top 20-30 P's getting access. OMG there are computers in the world that can count.
  9. I went back and read the OP. It's about porters, and everyone including me, thought this was the person at the curb putting your bags on the cart at embarkation. For me, porters are the guys helping get your luggage to your car at the end of the cruise. Porters on debarkation get $1/bag from me—usually, a minimum of $5 total only because I'm usually out of $1 bills. These guys are helping me, thus a gratuity,
  10. That has nothing to do with who took your bags on the pier.
  11. Funny the I.L.A Local 1588, Bayonne, New Jersey thinks they do.
  12. In my last half dozen cruises there were 500+ D's and D+. Not sure gaining access is that special.
  13. Cabin 1100 is much better when it's cold. WJ outside seating is not used! No chair noise.
  14. Color used to be helpful to the longshoreman, but it doesn't seem to make any difference today. They used to have multiple carts separated by color, and checked a color chart. The main reason was your deck section. Black and white, color doesn't matter.
  15. 100 percent agreement. It's actually hilarious on FB where 25% of the answers are totally wrong. When people say you should visit CK on a Radiance class ship, really? Most answers are based on the last ship they were on, and they don't realize there are differences.
  16. Sorry, I added it later. The closer you are to a router will make a difference. I realize that sounds obvious, but it makes a difference on Radiance class ships. The problem also can be routers that are overwhelmed in public areas. We are B2B2B. On the first cruise, we were on deck 3 almost dead center and far away from both stairwell routers, with horrible reliability. On this cruise, we are close to the forward elevators. Much better internet in our cabin. I have seen reports of contractors boarding a ship and upgrading network WiFi. Hopefully, they add additional hallway routers that you see on the newer ships. Safe travels
  17. Yes, I did. I had to call my TA about a cruise. I called from my cabin, and I saw a banner on my cell that said your signal is weak and you may drop the call. It all turned out fine. The problem has always been receiving texts, but I don't miss the spam calls. edit: the public areas seem to be better. The problem may be too many using one router.
  18. I'm on Jewel today. Router placements have been the biggest problem.
  19. One other thing I forgot. TBS game was on the special events channel last night. Your ship and location may have a lot to do with games broadcast.
  20. ESPN(2) has been showing baseball playoffs, but it doesn't seem to be all games. I must say I haven't paid full attention since our Red Sox s**ked this season. I'm even seeing reruns of games in the morning.
  21. Hahaha, I don't think I could talk to cabin attendants that much! 😅 I was just trying to make some sense for the poster with dishes for three days. Safe travels.
  22. In my 56 cruises we have been told by cabin attendants exactly what I posted. I'm very happy for you.
