We have been to DR before; we docked at La Romana, and did one of the best tours of our cruising life there. But as I research AC, I'm not finding many beaches or snorkeling options. On the north side of the island, the water appears to be rough, and murky in many beach areas. Not ideal for snorkeling. Also heard that the northside coral is bleached, and not much to see underwater. Bummer. But there appears to be some amazing zip lining opportunities. Has anyone done the Zip over the ocean? Can't tell if it is only "one" zip. The falls seem very similar to Dunns Falls in Jamaica, but if anyone has falls information, I would appreciate that as well. Cheers! ~Marci - Carnival Celebration

We just booked Celebration and got a killer deal for Cheers. Broke it down by day and it was a very easy sell and a fraction of the standard charge. Keep your eyes open 🙂

Carnival Vista pre COVID - We did the Dewars Scotch mixology class - with lab coats, beakers and test tubes! We learned about the variations, and actually created our own take-home pint bottle! I hear they are not doing those anymore, but it was very memorable, and I still have my bottle to prove it! 🙂

The biggest challenge we had with Vista was the transportation from the airport to Galveston for a group of 6; 2 of them mobility challenged. As you leave port, watch for the dolphins swimming/playing in the bay next to the ship. Pretty sweet.

For anyone that books local, this can be a deal maker! 🙂

I've also been on both - I prefer the Dream. I had a regular aft balcony, and the Havana area disrupts the view and the quiet with the ocean. And yes, when I look down, I would like to see the blue waves, not someone's bikini top and towel, and a tray of dishes sitting there. Just my opinion.

So you can have alcohol AND coffee drinks?

Been a while since I've been out there, but we used to share a little "cash" with our bartenders directly. Wonder if they prefer non cash these days? Any ideas?

In Belize, take a water taxi to Caye Caulker. You will love it! Lovely little island with restaurants, shopping, beaches and lots of local fare
