  1. Great information here. Thank you for taking the time to post.
  2. Just avoid the Havanah area - They are a deal breaker for "looking straight down" 🙂
  3. Does anyone, that has cruised recently, have any photos/reviews? Thank you
  4. We had 5297 several years ago - loved it. The folks on the wrap around rarely came to the aft, so is was very quiet. And we had no soot. We did have very little airflow, but we cruised in November - it was absolutely perfect for us. Great choice!
  5. Sometimes the time of year attracts certain people. Sometimes the location of your cabin can alleviate some of the issues, too. I will never cruise, on any line, during the summer, to the Caribbean; nor will we cruise during any holiday. So far, the only horrible passenger experience was on Celebrity, to Alaska. Half of the ship was booked by another "nationality" and they were physical, and gross, and entitled - of which, Celebrity security never did anything about them either.
  6. Megan, your escapades were priceless. Please make sure and follow up with the cruise lines - it's not acceptable. Just FYI - the only horrid and abusive behavior I have been a victim of was on a "new" Celebrity ship - full of non American adults. I don't think it is Carnival related. Some people just aren't accountable anymore for anything - it sucks. Hugs to you, and thank you again.
  7. So what is the deal with the "watermelon crush" - It looks delightful, but I know there must be a back story to this. Please share!
  8. We will be on her in November. Taking good notes - especially where and what you are drinking! Thank you for the teppanyaki information - always a favorite for my crew. Rock on Sista!
  9. Not the same as the old fashioned "ding" is it? But it'll do
  10. When you get home, we hope you have time to relax, decompress and heal. It has been a marvelous experience with you, even though the lights did not come out to play for you.
  11. Greg - hey buddy, eyes to the skies tonight. There is a chance for Northern Lights. Rock on my friend!
  12. Its CRAZY how blue the ice is, huh? When we were up TA, we actually could see a bear, on shore (from the ship, of course) Waterfalls galore - Juneau has great waterfalls.
  13. Question - Does anyone know if the Horizon MDR new menus roll out was delayed?
  14. I'm excited for your information - doesn't appear to be a lot of Celebration writers, these days. We have to wait until November, but looking forward to ALL the adventures!
  15. Thank you. We are on her in November, trying to decide which night to do teppanyaki. Ours is only a 7 night though. Let us know what you think when you get back! 🙂
  16. It would be nice to see more information - the video is nice, and thank you. But someone has had to have some first hand "review" information somewhere. Guess we'll just keep watching. Here's the schedule as posted by John Heald a short while back.... Horizon - scheduled to start 7/22 Sunrise - scheduled to start 8/3 Vista - scheduled to start 8/12 Radiance - scheduled to start 8/18 Mardi Gras - scheduled to start 8/19
  17. I love the fact that you are branching out, trying other cruise lines. We know we will get a fair and reasonable comparison and assessment from you. I, too, have tried other cruise lines, but I still come back to the Whale Tail Club. There is nothing that says we have to exclusively cruise only one cruise line. Each cruise line has their own unique set of "standards" and "passenger basis". I'm sure this is nothing new. One thing you can watch for while you are in the great white north - keep your eyes to the skies. You never know when you may catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Things have been good and active lately - not any means of a guarantee, but as far north as you are, luck seems to find you! AND sometimes your eye cannot see the Aurora, but if you snap a photo with your phone, and dial in the "black point" on the photo, you may see lots of super cool things. THANK YOU for the Metallica clips! They were here in Boise (non stadium) a couple years back - put on a phenom show! Rock on, and stay cool!
  18. Thank you! Horizon is a big ship! There should be something out there....
  19. Just depends on your preferences. We always get a balcony AFT or near the back - always. We do spend time on our balcony - especially in the cool mornings, having coffee and a croissant in our own peace and quiet. Then we get up and go to breakfast. I'm out there at first light and off and on all day long until we go to bed. It gives me the illusion of seclusion (lol) and since I live somewhere landlocked, it suits my preferences.
  20. Its crazy - I haven't seen any reviews anywhere about the new menus. You know there will be a lot of opinions out there...
  21. May you please give us a review of the MDR/New Menu experience when you can as well! Thank you!
  22. I have a friend that worked on Seaside - I am not likely to book MSC Seaside anytime soon. My Choice. I am happy with Carnival.
  23. Celebration just doesnt seem to get much attention these days. On her in November. Thank you for your post!
