I never found pasta on any Carnival cruise I've been on, other than mac n cheese on the kids MDR menu (which is AMAZING, and I always order for myself lol).  It's been my only food complaint bc I love pasta!  Most kids don't eat vegetables, and the ones they do, are not available.  I sometimes struggle to find veggies that I like because the ones offered are always a little too fancy for my palate.  My picky 11-year old will eat french fries and bread n butter all day long if I let her, but I won't.

I didn't know they had grilled cheese in the deli; that is promising!

It didn't sound like the OP's kids went hungry, just that they were disappointed and maybe had the munchies a few times with nothing they wanted.

There is a pasta option every evening in the MDR.

If you have it on hold yes the hold will keep your promo. But once the hold expires it's gone.

It's admirable you want your PVP to get their commission but given the time crunch I would understand if I were your PVP if you went ahead and booked.

My PVP has told me that he does not receive commission

They cut chicken thighs into three pieces and fill the chafing tray up with rice at the buffet. Bacon crisis. Once a day cabin service. Overall crew reduction - every room steward I've had since the restart has commented on how many rooms he's assigned for example. Reduced hours for deli and pizza. No more late night snacks buffet. No included room service except dry danishes and coffee. The once nice seaday brunch menu has been cut back to a half sheet of paper and hours cut dramatically. It's just not a special vacation anymore.

Reduced hours for deli? Is it non longer 11 am to 11 pm?

We're sailing on the Vista in the spring and we booked a suite, and we'll 4 days to platinum. We're going with another couple, they're Gold and will be in a balcony room. Can we all board together or will they have to wait, if it matters, our accounts are linked as sailing companions.

You can all board together at the other couples boarding time.

By checking the stamp when I left China? Lol.

I always get pulled in at the border, they want me to show that I will not stay in the States without leaving. So, pay stub, HR proof of employment and work schedule, hotel being booked, that's just the usual thing I prepare for USCBC. I did not expect the cruise denies me before I got to the border. Of course if it's USCBC denying me, I don't need to complain here.

The lack of stamp is not proof, my passport never gets stamped.

  6. If you must be in the dining room by 6:30, you really don't have much flexibility. With YTD you will be able to get to the dining room a little earlier. With fixed time you will go at exactly 6:00 each night and avoid the line of folks waiting to be assigned a table as you will have the same table each night.

We had cabin R299 on Fantasy years ago and swore "Never Again". Right behind the cabin was the elevator motor, which ran all night long and was so loud that it vibrated the beds in the cabin. Avoid this cabin!

We had that cabin for an 8 night cruise. We loved the location. We did not experience any problems with elevator noise.

I recently experienced this as well...and it wasn't on just a newer ship.

My family and I were looking to book a 5 day cruise out of Tampa on the Paradise for 11/18 (Thanksgiving week).   While the first 2 passengers were paying $299/each, the 3rd person was being charged around $900!

So, it's not just the newer ships, but seems to be driven by demand during peek times.  Regardless, this seems to be a fairly new policy for Carnival.  In the past, based on my memory, the 3rd and 4th passengers usually paid about 40% of the 1st & 2nd passenger rate.

Two cabins with the third passenger as a solo would be cheaper.

  9. We visited Princess Cays with our 3 year old after visiting HMC several years earlier. With the little one Princess Cays was better. It has a 2 foot deep kiddie pool and playground equipment fully in the shade. We had a great day there!
