  1. We take one 24" suitcase each for cruises up to 14 days. For more than 14 days we add a small back pack. I carry meds, electronics and other valuables in my purse.

We never tan ahead of time. My DH has skin cancer so avoids the sun and I tan easily but try to stay out of the sun whenever possible.

  2. On a recent cruise, I went to the Spa for a Pedicure and they recommended Elemis Spa At Home Instant Refreshing Gel. It's a cooling gel you just rub on the swollen area/s. It helped somewhat but not completely.

I have a terrible time with swollen legs especially one on the side where I had a hip replacement. I wear support sox whenever I wear long pants. However we mostly cruise to warm climates so that isn't always practical. I guess I'll try the brush next.

  3. We chose the Jewel this past October for the ports and the ship. We have found the Jewel feels less crowded than the larger ships. Also we like the food in the Windjammer better on the Jewel. Service is always excellent and it's a beautiful ship. If you have children either ship will do a great job keeping them busy but older children might prefer the larger ship.

  4. I have only been cruising since 2004 and all of my cruises have been on RCCL, but I don't EVER remember being given ice water and cool wash clothes when re-boarding the ship. Our first cruise back in 2004 was on Navigator and we have cruised several of the other ships in the fleet, and some several times.

I can't be accused of confusing my experiences on RCCL with another cruise line, since I have never cruised another line, but are YOU?

We've had ice water and cool wash cloths several times. They are in a little tent near the entrance to the ship. If I remember correctly most of the time it has been on the Jewel of the Seas. I've never been on any other cruise line so I'm sure it was Royal Caribbean.

  5. I've lived in VA all my life and I've never heard of Little Italy or Stoney Creek! It's not on my usual route of rt460, I64 or rt58. I may have to check it out one day! Thanks for the tip! I'll travel far for good pizza. :D

Don't feel bad. We used to live in Richmond and never heard of Stony Creek. It's a real small town. 2 hotels, 2 gas stations and just a few restaurants. Someone told us about it or we would never have found it.

  6. There are Cracker Barrels every few miles in VA, NC and SC. Very kid friendly restaurant. If you want a good pizza, stop in Stony Creek, VA. Stony Creek is south of Richmond and north of Emporia, VA. Little Italy is off 95. Go right at exit and make a quick left. Go about a mile and the restaurant is on right. Small but excellent Italian food.
