We were on the Jewel b2b in October. The first week, which was the itinerary you had, was geared toward Latinos. We had quite a few from Puerto Rico, including a business group, and many from Arizona and California. There was a school holiday in Arizona that week. We found a lot of activities were geared toward the Latino population but didn't find it a problem.
The second week, which was a different itinerary, was completely different. Many more international guests including a lot of Europeans, very few children and only a small amount of Latinos.
At times it was hard to believe we were on the same ship for both cruises because many things were aimed at the particular population of that week. We enjoyed the variety of people we met and the many different activities.
Sorry, I ate all the Coconut Ranger cookies.

Depends on which itinerary you do. We did a b2b in October. Rooms ready just before 1 each time. Muster is at 8. Formal night were different for the 2 itineraries.

What a fantastic review! I missed it when you posted it because I was on the Jewel for 2 weeks.
If all cruisers(or even most of them) had your sense of humor and positive attitude, we'd all have a better time.
Thanks for taking the time to do this for us. Looking forward to your next one.

Has anyone taken this tour from St. Kitts port? Would love to hear feedback -- wonderful? boring? (We are going to be there in three weeks and would like to see the beautiful St. Kitts and Nevis shoreline by sea, but do not want to go snorkeling or lunch this time.) Thanks for feedback!
Took this in January. 12 people on boat and 4 crew. Beautiful boat built in St. Kitts. Free drinks and snacks. Crew was able to answer all questions about everything we passed. When we got to Nevis, one of the crew who was from Nevis, told us the history of the island. Would do it again in a minute.

Also RC usually provides football food. We've had hot dogs, tacos, nachos etc. to eat while the game was on.

Although I'd love to see more ships, I wish RC would retain a fleet of smaller ships and visit some different islands and countries. Large ships are limited to ports that can handle them. Smaller ships can go to small ports and smaller waterways.

Lobster, shrimp, oysters and anything else that crawls on the bottom of the ocean.
Jello and sushi because I hate the texture.
Veal because of the way veal calves are raised.

well, this is what MY agency has to say about it. I wouldn't ask nor accept, but that's just me. Someone else can be made an example of, I'd like to keep my job thanks.
I agree. If you are still employed then you must follow the rules. In our case my DH is retired.
A very high ranking RC employee who is a former Fed Law Enforcement employee is checking on this news.

There is no federal "Law" prohibiting discounts for federal employees, but there is an OPM rule for federal employees prohibiting them from accepting such a discount, unless offered to all. Any cruise line can legally offer a discount, it is up to the employee to decide if they want to take it but perhaps face consequences if caught.
It's interesting that they have dropped the word "federal" from the law enforcement discount, as of a few weeks ago, I think it was still there. My husband is retired federal law enforcement (after 34 years!) and during our 12 years of cruising, we caught such a discount only once. It was interesting that they stressed bringing his badge to show at check in, but we were never asked for it. I have found this to be true for state discounts also, we have never been asked to show proof of residency.
Sherri:)
OPM's rule doesn't apply to retired Federal Employees so this change should not apply to retired personnel.
However, we've never received a discount on any of our cruises.

My renewal in June took exactly 30 days.

Has anyone done this with the coupons being on the seapass card? If you have two bags and both people are Diamond, will the automatically take the $10 off each bag? How would that work? Previously we'd just put a coupon on top of each bag when we left it on the bed.
You put your folio number on the sheet that you leave for the room steward. The two of you will have different numbers. That number should trigger the available discount.

Also be carefull of colors. You don't want all your underwear coming back pink or purple. We try to wear light colors the first few days(khaki, white and pastels) so we can put them together in the bag and not worry about the colors running.
We have mixed results with wrinkles. Sometimes everything comes back perfect and other times it is somewhat wrinkled. If they don't look so great I just hang them in the bathroom while we shower and the wrinkles come out.
I love this service.

Did anyone get notice from Bank of America or Royal Caribbean about this change? I'd like to see it in hard copy or an email from either one because, as you know, we often get conflicting information over the phone.

We've attended Diamond Events on the Liberty and the Vision. Both had hot and cold snacks at the Event. It may depend on the ship not the ships age.

This is great news. I hope it means more Celebrity ships and maybe even Azamara will be docking there.

What a great story! Pass it on to Adam Goldstein.
Best of luck to your son in his career. Hope to see him on RC soon.

Great review. You really had me laughing. Thanks for sharing.

We couldn't decide because we've been to all the ports so we elected to do a b2b. We love the Jewel.

Very comprehensive review. I love it.
We heard Roxy on the Explorer. He's our favorite Schooner Bar piano player.
Can't wait for the next installment.

Subscribed!
I'm also interested in how on Earth your one-way flights that cheap
My Mom hates flying and we'd love to take a TA one day so she'd only have to fly one way to the US ;)
Not sure if you can use Choice Air, but through them we were able to purchase very inexpensive flights last October. One way, Newark, NJ to Barcelona was $203 US Dollars.

Liked Paul O'Shea on the Liberty and Roxy on the Explorer. We spend a lot of time and money in the Schooner Bar if the piano player is good.

What a wonderful review. I started reading it because we booked a cruise on the Legend for February, 2014 and I wanted to see how it looks since the renovations. However, now I'm more interested in the ports and all your comments on the food and your experiences. We hope to do an Asian cruise next year.
Two questions for you. Did you notice if the computers in the computer center new or were they the old ones? Was the theater crowded?
Thank you. Looking forward to the rest of your cruise.

Missy,
Hope you are feeling better!
Really enjoying your review. You are doing a great job. Every posting makes me smile. Glad you've joined our cruising addicts group.
Looking forward to the rest of your review and your future reviews.

Anyone know if its unlimited on Vison on the Seas yet, or before August 2013
We were on Vision in January and it was still on old(65 cents/minute) plan. I assume it will change in Sept. when the Vision goes into dry dock.
26 Days before we board and Cruise Doc. not available?
in Royal Caribbean International

If you are using Choice Air there is sometimes a delay in your documents being available. There also may be a delay if it is a group booking and the entire group is not paid in full.
