  1. Really enjoying your review. Love all the pictures. Thanks for including the curtain in the Theater. It is really beautiful. My favorite is on the Explorer.

Speaking of the Explorer, all Jersey girls(I'm a former Jersey girl) should take a cruise on the Explorer. It is wonderful to just drive to Bayonne and get right on the ship.

We have never been on the Liberty but have 21 days on her in October. Thanks for sharing your cruise with us.

  2. Had you booked through the cruiseline? I just wonder why they told our table mates that you couldn't "catch up"? When obviously you can because you did.

I would love to know if you can't catch up then why???

I'm glad you got on....that is an expensive trip to miss.

We left out of Vancouver. We did book with RC but others in the group booked on their own. Only difference was we were picked up at airport in Ketchikan by RC rep and taken to ship in morning by RC rep and they weren't. All of us stayed at the same lodge at the top of the tram in Ketchikan.

  3. Thanks for your entertaining review. It brings back memories of our first cruise/tour on the Radiance. We missed the ship because we were stuck in Chicago along with 18 other passengers. RC arranged for all of us to meet the ship in Ketchikan and took very good care of us. Unfortunately we missed the first sea day so we didn't have enough ship time to really enjoy the Radiance. Hopefully we'll get back there to do a repeat in the next few years.

  4. We did the Mystery Dinner theater on the Jewel last year. It was very entertaining and funny. However, the night we went it was very crowded and we were literally squeezed in. There was very little elbow room at the large tables they use. Menu is set for appetizer and desert and you have a choice of 2 entrees. Service was impeccable. All 20 of us at our table were served the entree at exactly the same second.

I recommend you try it, but find out how full the room will be. If it is full, try to sit at the end of a table.

  5. Patty, we used the ginger before our 12 but we had such a nice smooth cruise.I bought it at GNC just make sure that it has real ginger in it. But then Suzanne and Christy werent on!!

    Hi Lorain, how are you?

We just booked for Oct next year along with DD,DSL and granddaughters! I love having a cruise planned.

    Hi Demodawn,

Nice to see you again. Too bad about Beth and Mark. We are planning a fall cruise but it will be when the kids are in school.

    Have a great summer.

    Toni

  6. Radio -

What a great service you're provided all of us. Thank you. My boys and I are extremely excited to be sailing on the Explorer in July. This will be our first sailing out of Cape Liberty. I'm a little confused regarding the pier and shuttle lay out - does everyone arrive at the terminal and are then shuttled out to the pier? Also, our cabin is located on the port side of the ship. Will be be able to see the Statue of Liberty from our cabin as we depart?

    Don

We just returned from a cruise on the Explorer. You will see Lady Liberty right outside your room from the Port side. You will also see Manhattan in the background.

When you arrive, you enter the check in terminal. After you are checked in and have your sea pass, you get on a bus for a very short ride to the ship. Easy, fast and efficient.

  7. Always look forward to your reports, Radio.

We just got off the Explorer and I want to mention what a wonderful job the Captain and crew did handling the situation. All guests were kept informed. In spite of having stayed up all night searching for their fellow crew member, the crew provided excellent service.

Sorry your cruise was delayed. Hope you have a wonderful trip.
