  1. That's a good Idea. It would be a bigger turn out than the art auction.
  2. I know you have been a member here and a Celebrity passenger for a long time and I trust your opinion. What line does your husband prefer?
  3. Bermuda is my favorite island. Clean safe and it's small enough to see in the time that the ship docks there.
  4. We are booked on Reflection for a short 4 day Key West Bimini Itinerary. For us it is about itinerary and since we haven't been to either of these places the ship didn't matter. I would not go out of my way to an E class unless we wanted the itinerary because we like a real balcony. However, since you want to book an inside I would book Beyond for the longer itinerary.
  5. They would have to pay me and even then I would have to think it over. However, I am sure the Captain Kate stalkers would fall over each other to pay for the opportunity.
  6. Yes I would benefit more with a Celebrity status the matches that on Royal but not the other way around. I can wait until I get home to do laundry and we don't dress in anything that needs dry cleaning anymore. I laugh at internet minutes. I don't even read email at home. It's all cruise line mail and other junk mail. I use apps and social media that would eat up minutes faster than I could do anything with.
  7. Passport cards are only useful if you cross the Mexican boarder or the Canadian boarder frequently. I wanted to apply for it when I was updating my DL to real ID. The clerk told me not to waist my money since I already had a passport. I don't live close to either boarder and if I were going to either place I would know in advance to take my passport. The card is to keep in your wallet if you cross the boards frequently.
  8. I'm fine with well brands especially with a mixer. I only get the classic package. It's the limited time frame of 5-7 HH and the designated venues that don't sit well with me.
  9. Yes for those who have been sailing many years and have reached the high tiers it pays off. I started sailing with Celebrity when they included the drink and wifi packages so the HH between 5-7 would not entice me. 240 minutes wasn't enough 10yrs ago. Now working passengers are taking cruises while working remotely which requires unlimited. If you book the Retreat all is included so it's a moot point. As you can see from the above post the discounts for purchases are worthless when they offer a better discount for everyone. This is the new norm for all cruise lines. They are going to have to come up with a program that means something because the average millennials aren't brand loyal. Coupons and discounts work on Boomers like myself.
  10. Another reason for not chasing points on cruise line loyalty programs. The benefits are a joke.
  11. Try a Hennessy Colada. I started drinking them on Royal Caribbean. My son recommended it to me. Also known as a Henny Colada, this drink, with roots in City Island, the Bronx, takes traditional piña colada to the next level. Made with sweet pineapple juice and cream of coconut, the traditional rum is replaced with the caramel undertones of Hennessy Cognac. The cherry and pineapple are optional but make it feel extra vacation-like. Whether drinking it in the Caribbean or on City Island, the tropics are a state of mind.
  12. New York doesn't allow for cancel for any reason which is why I went with cruise ship insurance. Now they caught on and put a stop to that. Yes the storm is on the west coast which may screw up Tampa sailings. The West coast seems to be the hot spot the past two years. The Gulf is very warm and they seem to go that route. It was beautiful this morning than a storm came out of no where but didn't last.
  13. That is recent since covid as I used to be able to get it years ago. I only found out this year when I booked a Princess Cruise and couldn't add insurance because they still had me listed as a NY resident even though I changed my address
  14. I have sailed many times on Princess. Yes it's boring. We haven't been back because unless you book a mini suite or higher the rooms are not comfortable. No place to sit and to cramped with the closet taking up most of the room and the tiny showers with the clinging shower curtain. Our first cruise with Celebrity was on the Summit where we had an ocean view room. The shower was much larger and there was a place to sit and eat a meal if you ordered room service. On Princess I didn't like having to sit on the bed fully dressed waiting for my wife to get ready for dinner. She was sitting in the only chair in the room putting on makeup and styling her hair. Royal Caribbean also has a small sofa in every category stateroom. If Princess is cheaper for a similar itinerary I will book it. However that hasn't been the case in a few years.
  15. I don't buy it for medical reasons. It's cheaper to buy cruise line for cancel for any reason insurance than booking the cruise with a refundable deposit. Plus you do get insurance benefits if you need them. We drive to port so air travel isn't an issue
  16. Bimini is a port of call on our cruise in Sept. Can you just take the shuttle and eat at the beach club or gamble without paying for the Celebrity excursion beach pass? Now that we live in Florida the beach and palm trees aren't a big deal anymore. We are doing the Key West Bimini itinerary. We have never been to either and this was a good price with a residents discount. Also did you notice any cabs available to get back on the ship?
  17. When I lived in NY we couldn't get cancel for any reason insurance. I recently found out by accident that you can't even purchase insurance from the cruise line if you are a NY resident. I found this out when booking a Princess cruise. I tried to add the Platinum insurance to my booking and it wouldn't accept it. When I called it turned out that it was because Princess still had me tagged as a New York resident even thought I updated my profile to a Florida address.
  18. There are storms everyday this time of year in Florida. Even our retention pond is rough with the wind blowing. The only thing I would worry about is a flight delay if you are flying in the same day. The airlines have been a mess on a good day.
  19. You are braver than I am. I would have turned around when I saw that the Purell was empty. You were probably one for the few who took the time to use the bathroom to wash your hands. I always assume that someone has sneezed or coughed along the way without being witness to it. I was like this before covid.
  20. Not ever worth the money even when they run a sale. I have seen those Cabanas priced for more than the cruise. As for the water park, they have plenty of those on land for far less money. In the past we purchase blow up floats from the dollar store and just tossed them out at the end of the day. We floated over to the swim up bar at Labadee.
  21. We are on reflection at the end of Sept. Looking forward to your report. Bon Voyage!
  22. It doesn't even let me subscribe to PUP. The link is dead when I roll the mouse over it.
  23. Thank you. They are Aussie Shepards, sisters from the same litter. They are 2yrs old now and one lives with each of my sons now.
