  1. Subtract the difference between the basic price and the all inclusive price. Divide the difference by 9 and that gives you the daily price of the added package per day per person. Find your Roll call and ask someone on your sailing what the UK price is for the daily drink package. Then you will be able to make an informed decision. I couldn't see the daily drink package price until after I booked. I just knew what I was willing to spend just on drinks. The wifi was an added bonus. There is no rhyme or reason on how they discount these packages. Sometimes its cheaper on board than it is to prepay online. If you are on a port intensive itinerary you will be off the ship more than you will be on and that has to factor in to your decision as well. We live in Florida and we are sailing to Key West and Bimini. Nothing exciting that we don't already have at home so we will not be spending much time in port even though we have never been to either destination. The Caribbean was a bigger deal when we were living in New York.
  2. I can't seem to find a way to upgrade from the classic to premium. I don't see any pricing for that.
  3. We have them on our dogs as well.
  4. We put air tags inside our luggage and can tell if it's on the plane with us. Once I surrender our luggage to the air lines I get an alert that the luggage is no longer with me. Depending on my seat in location to the luggage I sometimes get an alert that the luggage is with me. Otherwise I can track the luggage and as long as it's with in a close location I know that it wasn't left at the airport or headed on another plane in a different direction.
  5. I don't know. I haven't cruised since 2019 and on Royal it was fountain soda. They used Coke products and I would think that since Celebrity is part of RCCL group that they would use Coke products as well.
  6. I just booked a 4 night cruise. At the time of booking it was only $50 a day per person for the classic drink package and wifi so I booked the included rate. I have paid more for just the drink package on Royal Caribbean even during their Black Friday discounts. When my booking on Celebrity was complete I checked out the the drink and wifi packages prices. The drink package is 75.99 pp per night with a 15% discount and basic wifi is $21.99 for one device per night. The best thing to do is to calculate the daily drink and wifi package per day and if it what you are comfortable paying book it with the package. I know mine will never be cheaper than what I paid when I booked.
  7. I wouldn't want to add a phantom either and if I did I wouldn't admit to it on social media either.
  8. I just booked a 4 night cruise. It was $50 a day pp for the classic drink package and wifi by upgrading during the booking process. The price after booking was $72 a day with a discount for the drink package and an additional $30 a day with a discount for the wifi package. My general rule is that I won't pay more than $50 a day just for a drink package. If it includes gratuity and wifi I'm willing to pay more. $50 a day for drinks at cruise ship prices is a good deal even if I'm just drinking soft drinks. add 2 or 3 cocktails during the day and I'm even.
  9. I have been a member since 2008 and follow Celebrity, Royal and Princess. I have never sailed solo so I don't even have a horse in this race but be sure I would have followed any thread on this topic had I seen it.
  10. Naturally they would want to discourage this behavior. They would also be an accomplice and liable for fraud if they encouraged it. Does the cruise ship insurance cover the no show fare for the person who is sailing? If so it would be a lot less to buy that then paying 3 times the amount plus you would have insurance.
  11. I am finding at home at the supermarket and in restaurants that the beef choices and quality have not been the same since covid. The cheapest cut of meat is over priced. Even the meal kits that we get from Home Chef aren't the same quality. I can find better quality if I pay more at a specialty supermarket like Fresh Market. I just have to wait for a sale on the better cuts. I don't expect much from any mass market cruise line.
  12. Do you really think they get the time off if they aren't doing turn down service or they get to work at a slower rate having less rooms to service? How is not turning down or making up a bed effecting the environment other than mine?
  13. This seems to be a hot mess. I won't be Going Green. At the end of the day Go Green doesn't seem to have anything to do saving the planet but certainly puts more green in Celebrity's pocket by being able to cut down on service and being able assign the room steward to another task.
  14. Now that we can drive to port, we may take advantage of this too. In the past we were rushing to get to the airport.
  15. What their passengers are willing to pay for a Cabana on Coco Cay for a few hours could feed a country.
  16. I just booked a 4 night cruise on Reflection for this Sept. I booked the fare that included the internet package and classic drink package which worked out to be $50 pp per day. Imagine my shock to see the price if I waited to add it after I booked to be, $72pp per day for the drink package and $30 a day for internet. That is a huge difference. Is there always such a big difference or did I just get lucky?
  17. Thank you. I was wondering what you use a concierge for.
  18. it was only $28pp more and it was in a better location than the veranda choices which is the main reason I booked it. Aqua Class was only a few more dollars than Concierge but the locations were terrible. We like to be sandwiched between two decks that have rooms and not public areas. We don't even concern ourselves with being loyal so even the extra CC points aren't a draw to book the higher class. I just look for the best price on the 3 lines we like. On this cruise the drink package and wifi were only $50 more a day when added to the booking. That will be no problem breaking even given the prices at the bar.
  19. I'm in a good place here. Retired and living in paradise, so yes depressing and uncomfortable furnishings.
  20. I felt an Ikea vibe from the Celebrity Solstice class ships from the get go.
  21. At least on the Anthem Class Royal Caribbean ships they offer special smaller single room at a reasonable price. I sailed with a friend and the room was very nice. It even had a balcony.
  22. Add a Harry and David gift basket to that table and you have Shiva at sea. Looks so depressing.
  23. We are sailing on the Reflection in Concierge class. It's been a while since our last Celebrity cruise and this is the first cruise we are sailing on since covid. I know things have changed in the cruise industry and I was wondering what to expect in Concierge Class. I read a thread where they don't even give lounge chairs in a suite anymore so I'm sure C class has changed as well. It was only $28 more per persons so I figured it was worth it just for a better location. Also is bottled water included in the basic drink/wifi package or do I have to upgrade to premium? Thank you.
  24. Former New Yorker. Broadway was at my fingertips. I cringe as well. I wouldn't compare the casinos to Las Vegas either.
