I would call Phillips Cruises, the operator of the 26 Glaciers excursion, and let them know your concern. Operators throughout Alaska are well aware of the cruise ship schedules and will do EVERYTHING in their power to get you back on time. My guess is that direct bookers will be sharing the same boat with those that booked through Holland.

In my experience, whale watching from an excursion booked through cruise line will be on a larger boat filled to capacity and little ability to maneuver for photos since everyone has the same idea. Whale watching with Harv and Marv or Glacier Wind, will be on a small boat with just a few other passengers. If photography is your thing, go with the small boat, independent companies.

Indoor mask mandates are about reducing COVID risks. There is a segment of the population that just can't figure that out.

I've done this at least four times, except that I have arrived by train from Anchorage around 11:00 a.m. You check your luggage in Anchorage and the next time you see it is in your cruise cabin. After the Kenai Fjords tour, just hop a shuttle over to the ship terminal and get checked in. You have plenty of time. Enjoy the Kenai. This is one of my favorite days in Alaska especially if the weather cooperates.

All is well with my PCC. Was able to add the $50/day Have it All Package and, separately, I was able to score a stateroom upgrade. First time in an aft balcony.

I finally got a hold of someone (not my PCC) at Holland this morning in an attempt to add the $50/day Have it All package. Was informed that adding the package would add an additional $60 to the cost of my Platinum cancellation protection. There's always a catch. Screw it. P.S. Still waiting to hear from my PCC.
